SimilarWeb offers free plan for beginners that includes up to five results per metrics, one months of mobile app data and three months , which is great for startup company. I like the feature where you can compare your website results with your competitors' website results and see it in comparison on one screen - it is very convenient and gives many insights.
Website and mobile app data that showed on similar web sometimes incorrect. I compared data in our Google Analytics and on SimilarWeb and have to say that Google Analytics is much more accurate and process new data much faster..
With SimilarWeb I get insights about website strategy of companies I am interested in, do keywords planning and analysis and simply track our website traffic in comparison with our main competitors.
The most helpful aspect of Similarweb is it gives you a visual idea of the overlap between your organization and your competitors.
The metrics that are compared when doing competitive analysis are not always relevant or useful.
Similarweb helps identify competitors in a given vertical, and shows you their approximate market share. This is helpful because you can see which competitors you're closest to.
Web analytics at a place can be found...
Fails for some of the websites due to which I have to go looking for alternatives
Helps in understanding the quality of business I would be working with
The plugin is really helpful! I look the easy to use interface as well.
I'd like more options to find competitions and ways to filter by brands that spend a lot on Display.
This is really helping me find me clients to prospect and education on their core business. So far the competitor feature is the most imporatnt in finding similair brands.
The interface, navigation and tips, very easy to understand
Too many emails that i received after registration. This is a minus point for me
Tracking performance, check oyjrt companies.
SimilarWeb Pro is helpful to learn how to spot new potential partners (retailers) and efficiently analyze their performance and audience. I have used it to analyze performance of retailers in my industry. I found it easy to compare our competitors’ performance at category level.
The tool is limited because it can be hard to get SKU-specific data. Depending on the retailer, it can be hard to drill down into multi-category retailers if they do not operate in one category type (i.e. health, beauty, etc.). It is better for a general consensus of site traffic. Sometimes there are issues logging into the tool.
It is helpful to put quantitative site metrics to sales data we are receiving from our retailers. It would be more useful if our rep was in constant contact with our team to provide regular trainings and recap reports.
When planning the digital strategy of my business, we did everything manually, after discussing with a multidisciplinary team and debating for hours and hours about what direction my business strategy should take, with SimilarWeb Pro I can leave all that. aside since I can perform all these tasks from the application and it even gives me a detailed report with metrics and statistics that are quite useful when making a decision that sets the course of my digital strategy for my company
None, this tool has been very useful for me to improve the company's digital marketing.
i have been using it to improve my company's digital marketing strategy, since it was urgent for me to completely restructure my company since we were not obtaining the sales that we had planned at the beginning, so I went back to carry out the studies of segmentation and market for which this tool fell like a glove.
Shows me how many monthly visitors a website is getting
This product used to work very well. They updated the design of it & now it almost never works unless you're on a very popular website doing over 500K visits
Benefits are seeing monthly visitors it helps me estimate how many shipments/month an eCommerce store is doing. Problem are not working at all after they updated
SimilarWeb provides a comprehensive view of web traffic between my company and competitors. The platform is easy to navigate and use with lots of valuable insights.
The only drawback is the data quality. I understand SimilarWeb's data is based on sample data + their proprietary algorithm, so sometimes the data does not match with our internal data very well.
Competitor website traffic and relevant information. A great tool for competitive intelligence research and to better understanding where my company stands in the game given we heavily rely on digital channel.
Similarweb presents information in a very clear and easy-to-understand manner, which is especially helpful for beginners entering the online/website space. Their intro page on a website in particular gives a good overview of the business
For many use cases, the functionality that Similarweb provides is just too limited compared to what is available from competing analysis tools that I have used (specifically SEMRush and Ahrefs), and Similarweb is actually even more expensive than the competing tools in my experience
I previously used Similarweb in order to analyze my website performance and look for opportunities for growth. My hope was to look for keyword and backlink opportunities for the site, analyze competitors, and make technical SEO improvements to my website. I found the Similarweb functionality to be too limited to be able to do these things effectively, and now use both SEMRush and Ahrefs for this analysis instead.
Similarweb has robust reporting and data availability, but it is very expensive given that almost all of the data points seem to be available through other platforms like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, and etc.
I experienced a six-week delay in being able to simply log in to my existing subscription due to passive, ham-handed support, ongoing systems issues with the Similarweb platform that made my login impossible, and unnecessary delays. In the end, I was the one that figured out a workaround that ended my six weeks of frustration, and then Similarweb outright refused to extend my subscription by any amount as a goodwill gesture for the lost six weeks I had already paid for.
I requested that their support team set up a session with me that would clarify the data points available in Similarweb that are unique to the platform. However, that training won't happen now that I'm refusing to renew my subscription due to their poor customer service.
They are only nice while selling to you afterwards they are loan sharks behaviour.
We tried their service for a lead generation we paid over 10800 dollars for a quarter and it was completely inaccurate data every time we tried to talk to customers about their web performance their numbers were incredibly off. We did not ask for a refund although we used it for about 2 weeks and they did not even try to understand what went wrong and maybe remedy or offer a solution they went to Debt Collectors for the 1-year contract. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a company that is listed nevertheless. I do not recommend it at all. Scam service with inaccurate data and ridiculous business practices.
They have complete inaccurate data.
THe platform has been really useful when looking to review the whole competative landscape as well as for individual opportunities. The user interface is really intuative. The competitor analysis info is superior and more accurate that other systems which claim to do the same thing. My sales team use the system every day, and find it very useful insight to take into customer meetings.
Quite a pricey solution. Would like to be able to break data down into weeks as well as months. Integration can be long winded.
Appearing as a consultative and trusted partner to our sales prospects is a key driver for us, utilising the insight into their website traffic that Similarweb provides helps us to bring value to each interaction.
I used to work at Similarweb, which is how I got introduced to the platform and the different solutions. Now that I'm at another company I still use Similarweb all the time. My most-used features are the lead generator (in Sales Intelligence), the various keyword research tools, and company overview (I look at traffic and engagement analytics at sites my company owns vs. competitors, etc.). As a customer now, I've found the support team to be really present. Our account manager reached out to me right away when I got access and has checked in a couple times to see if I need help.
There can be a little learning curve at the beginning when it comes to the more complex features. Knowledge Center is helpful there (and account manager).
1) Getting the right traffic to our website(s) 2) Targeting the right companies with our sales outreach Re: #1, increasing brand awareness, lead gen, TOFU activity Re: #2, I actually don't know of another tool that could perform the kind of lead gen we need. We need a lot of online analytics to know whether a company is a good target for us, and Similarweb has it all.
Similarweb excels in comprehensive website analytics, offering detailed insights into traffic sources, competitor benchmarks, and user demographics. Its user-friendly interface facilitates data-driven decision-making, empowering businesses to refine marketing strategies and stay ahead in the dynamic digital landscape.
The downside is that some reports don't have yet all data availeble. Some os then only have data from mobile, and others have some limitations, but it's nothing a big problem. Probably latter they will include this missing data in future updates.
Similarweb addresses key challenges in understanding online performance by providing comprehensive website analytics, competitor benchmarks, and detailed traffic source analysis. This benefits us by enabling informed decision-making, refining marketing strategies, and staying ahead in the competitive digital landscape.
SimilarWeb is a game-changer for digital marketers, offering unparalleled insights into online performance. Its user-friendly interface provides accurate data on website traffic, audience demographics, and competitor benchmarks. The customizable dashboards and reports simplify complex analytics, making it easy to communicate findings with stakeholders.
The data time frames are a bit too short (25 months is the max after which you have to pay a bit more)
Aggregating real-time data especially across products while offering a holistic view of the digital market. This assists in identifying emerging trends, consumer preferences, and potential opportunities for growth.
Able to find intelligence and insights about the landscape of any niche. The interface is user-friendly and support is incredibly helpful.
Nothing, really. I haven't encountered any downsides.
Similarweb helps me find out more about the niches I am involved in.
I love how easy similar web makes it to get an idea of website traffic and geos for ecomm sites. The chrome extension was super easy to implement and is so helpful when prospecting - I use it almost every day! I've never had any issues but I assume the folks at similar web would be helpful if I ever run into any problems.
Can't think of any downsides, I have never run into any issues.
Similar web helps me learn more about the size of a business and how often their customers are checking out their website and from where when I am prospecting. It makes it easy to get a better idea of how much the business might use our product.
Ability to benchmark and compare performance against competitors Very easy to use and implement
Hidden features by level of license can be frustrating
Understanding performance of our performance against competitors. Giving insights on areas of improvement.
I've been using SimilarWeb for a few years and my favourite areas have always been to analyse competitor performance to see where they might be winning or losing. I'm also a huge fan of seeing where people went to before and after a website to identify new opportunities. The platform itself is very easy to use and enables easy comparison of websites, markets, and channels to see where there is opportunity.
I wouldn't say there are any glaring downsides and it may be more gaps in my knowledge but automated dashboards or templates for certain use cases would be a great addition to the platform. Also, being able to push data into Looker studio would be very helpful.
Knowing how a website or competitor is performing in a market is extremely useful to see if there are opportunties you might be missing out on. Similar Web makes this easy and allows you to see where a site is getting traffic, which device, where in the world etc. In recent months or the last year, the SEO features have really stepped up and being able to see new keywords by category, search trends is critical in informing our content and search strategy.
