Unclaimed: Are you working at Slack?
Slack Reviews: 4.5/5 — Highly Rated
Slack is the top choice for teams to communicate. It provides a virtual workspace that helps teams maintain open communication in a business environment. With Slack, users can host voice and video calls with up to 15 participants and even screen share with a desktop app, empowering better user interaction. Slack also supports options for private and group sessions, and one of its best features is Slack Huddles–an informal meeting space that lets you directly talk to your channel where you can share screen side by side with your team. The platform integrates well with Dropbox, Google Drive, and Trello as well.

Slack was a great program before the pandemic, but over the last three years has matured tremendously into an all around collaborative communications platform that exceeds anything else on the market, including Microsoft Teams. Not only is it kingly powerful, but it's also fun! A rarity for a communication platform. It also boasts over 2000 integrations with other applications. And even for those applications that aren't represented, the third-party Zapier is a decent substitute.
Slacks development is uneven. Huge feature changes are promised, and years later they slowly disappear from mention on the company web page. They are forgotten about as if they were never teased. Slack is owned by Salesforce, which will not obstensibly a bad thing, it does run the risk of making Slack just another product instead of a flagship application.
Slack allows us to solve communication workflows in ways, Google Chat, and Microsoft Teams never could. The best feature is Huddles, which is a form of instant video meeting that anyone can join. No links are needed. Anyone can see who is involved in the video chat and even what the topic of the chat is.
One stop shop for all team related communications and many more
Nothing as such which I don't like about Slack.
Help connect with business and technology to solved day to day communication problem. Like the way we can tag people to get attention for the faster turnaround.
Slack is userfriendly, even the new user finds it easy to use. Creating private and public channels made easy, Notification schedule, even the user can alert someone who turned on the snoozed notification. There is an undo option available in slack, Ctrl+Z will unsend the message. Slack huddles and calls are good as well.
When someone gets invited, it asks for the domain, and most of them aren't aware of that. When we install the app and signing it redirect to the web and it takes lot of time and it requires multiple tries
Messaging the pears, team status updates, team channel, closed channels messaging, video conferences, and huddles. Communication made easier. Easy attachment of files. Integration with multiple apps like, salesforce, jira, lattice, google calendar, etc. Google calendar alerts are the one of the best one, it automatically changes the status as per my calendar.
Ease of communication, fun and organizational features!
Not sure, cause I really like everything I have used so far!
Quick communication with my colleagues from all over the world. Propmt reviews and reactions!
What I like the best about Slack is I can easily communicate with my team and clients. The thread/channel feature is great for organizing conversations.
I don't have anything to dislike about Slack. I love it.
Slack helps me communicate faster with our clients and cascade important announcements to my team. It benefits my team greatly, especially in problems and resolutions.
Desktop and app versions are both great.
Sometimes on the app it's hard to load pics or videos
Communicate to employees before coming to work if another employee is out, if traffic is bad and employees are stuck in it. It's nice to see those things before getting to the office so others are aware.
Slack is a great way to communicate with teams, share documents, and integrate with other apps
There is nothing that i dislike about slack
Slack helps our team connect, collaborate, and maintain separate channels for different projects!
Easy setup, easy to use, and great features. This is a vital communication tool that is used within my office. I love how you can create new chats with specific people with a snap.
Honestly, there is not much I don't like about Slack, but I wish I had more control over the organization of my direct chats. I see the order rearranges based on chat activity. It would be great if I could have a separate section for "favorites" or have a bookmark feature that will stay in the order I placed it in at all times.
Several team members work remotely, only coming into the office 1-2 days per week. Slack allows everyone on our team to maintain communication to sustain our work flow and meet deadlines.
As a programmer, it's a one-stop solution for all the development support. I can slack a coding question to someone that I work with, a community of developers (ie Drupal), or my university or personal group of colleagues. It quickens my debugging, you can share snippets of code. Also, you can just reach out to someone and talk. Since I started to work from home this is one of my favorite tools.
I think Slack should just stick to what it does best and not try to compete with Zoom or MS Teams. Also, it's a bummer that Messages and files older than 90 days are hidden.
Help Debugging issues. Check-in w/ other teammates. Share funny or stupid things. Search for threads for previous comments about a topic. Have Channels for a particular project or topic.
Slack makes it easy to stay connected and up-to-date with your team. The platform offers many customization options, including personalized notifications, color-coded channels, and easy dragging and dropping files and images. The search function is fast and accurate, and the archive feature ensures that important information is never lost. Slack is an indispensable tool for any team looking to improve communication and productivity.
When you have a lot of channels or are part of a big company, the platform may look cluttered. It would be great if there were built-in project management features to avoid using third-party apps.
Slack plays a vital role in communication for our department. We work remotely, and the platform makes it easy to keep up to date with everything. The addition of huddles has been amazing!
Having a pulse on your organization is incredibly valuable and Slack is a great way to do this. I love how people in our organization, even though they're not always together, can communicate in a single place in a simple way.
When we started using Slack we didn't do too much training which created a plethora of messages and sometimes drowned out the important stuff. Once we taught about threads, pins, etc it became much more smooth.
Slack allows us to connect our business products in a simple way. When connected to our CRM it notifies our selected channels when a sale is made so that those who aren't in sales can share in the excitement! It's a great way to keep people on the same page and ensure excitement isn't limited to small silos of people.
I love how easily I can be in contact with my team and with anyone that is part of the company as well, and how it can easily be personalized to meet my needs and ad different integrations to make more interisting the day-to-day chat.
I don´t like how in brand new channels, the default option is not to receive notifications unless you are tagged, that have made me miss important information more than once.
It has helped me have a clear separation between work chats and personal chats without the need to be glued to my email inbox all the time to be in touch with coworkers or up to schedule with tasks
lack is great for organizing conversations via channels. Slack helps us stay connected to each other and our clients. Slack has many integrations to enhance the overall experience and make transitioning between various apps seamless.
One potential downside of Slack is that it can become overwhelming to use if there are a lot of channels and messages, making it difficult to keep track of important information. Additionally, it may not be suitable for huge teams or organizations due to its pricing structure, which can become expensive for larger groups.
o solve that, the company introduced Slack Connect, which allows you to set up shared channels with anyone outside of your organization. That's helpful, but setting up a channel isn't always the most efficient way to connect with a customer or client for a quick conversation about scheduling a presentation.
I really love using Slack for its user-friendly interface. It's so simple and intuitive to navigate and find the information I need. Another thing I really appreciate about Slack is the real-time messaging feature. It's so convenient to quickly communicate with my team members. Additionally, Slack integrates with so many other tools, making it easy for us to stay connected and organized. The search and organization tools are also fantastic; I can easily find the information and files I need. And to top it all off, Slack allows me to customize the platform to fit my specific needs and preferences. These are just a few of the many reasons why I love using Slack!
There are a few things about Slack that I'm not a big fan of. One issue is the occasional lag or slow performance, which can be frustrating. Another thing I dislike is the limited customization options for certain aspects of the platform, such as notifications. Additionally, the cost of certain advanced features or large teams can add up over time. These are just a few of the things that I find less appealing about Slack, but overall, I still think it's a great platform for team communication and collaboration.
Slack is solving the problem of poor communication and collaboration among team members in organizations. By providing a central hub for messaging, file sharing, and integration with other tools, Slack is making it easier for teams to stay connected and organized. As a user, I have definitely benefited from using Slack. It has reduced my reliance on email for communication with my team, and the real-time messaging feature allows me to quickly get answers to my questions. The integration with other tools has also made my work more efficient, as I can access all of the information and resources I need in one place. And with the powerful search and organization tools, I can easily find what I'm looking for. These are just a few of the ways that Slack has been beneficial for me and my team.
What I like the most is how easy it is to use, it allows you to create a space where you can add the corresponding people, for example I use it mainly for work, we created an office room where all the collaborators are added and we can add the information referring to any point that we are dealing with at that moment and it remains recorded for up to 3 months, it is very dynamic
What I don't like is that after 3 months the information is lost if you don't use the paid version, we use the free version and we create conversation threads so that the information or conversation that we need the most is kept a little longer. highlight or keep
I don't know what problems this application may have, I find it very useful personally, I have it on my phone and I use it as a personal reminder agenda, I put the date and time that I would like it to remind me of and it does, it would be great if in the pc could activate the notifications but for now it is very good
It's as easy as texting but compartmentalizes all of your messages. Threads are easy to find and never gets lost
Nothing to dislike here! This is the easiest to use and most crucial tool for our business
Keeps us all connected and organized. The fact that you can have conversations labeled by different threads is so beneficial to our work.
Still learning about all of the great functions but really enjoy the "schedule send" option, the /zoom integration, the /remind function, and the ability to pin posts to channels for future reference.
Sometimes if I see a Slack on my phone and then go to look for it later on my laptop, I have trouble finding it if the person who sent the message included others. That is, sometimes I have difficulty finding the thread. I wish there was a "recent activity" feature.
The biggest problem Slack is solving is staying connected in realtime. It's great to have the ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with my colleagues (all of us are remote) without having to send an entire email.
Slack has the best chat/message service for users around the globe. I used multiple apps which can be compared with slack, but slack defines the best of all. Slack gives the best functionality to huddle calls with anyone in our community anytime without interruption. The message feature with multiple sections like code snippets, clips etc., is best. Slack gives access to add multiple communities in it.
Not as such. As I said, slack covers all the sections for the user. One thing I could say is that slack sometimes gives slow responses, but that is negligible for anyone. Notifications are still showing even after viewing them.
Notifications are still showing even after viewing them. Filtration in the notification.
The huddles, the screen sharing and the drawing
Sometimes it is hard to find old chats through the searcher
It has helped us for sharing info, receiving notifications from 3 party apps, like GitHub or Aws
I love the functionality and versatility of the app. I really love that there is both a desktop and mobile version. The app has so many amazing features that make communication easy and streamlined.
There is nothing about slack that I dislike. I have never had a problem with the app and use it daily. At this point, I have not run into anything about slack that I dislike.
Slack bridges the gap between communication with team members, clients, and business owners. It allows me to stick to my personal boundaries around client communication and still communicate effectively and easily with clients.
I love that we can simply DM someone without waiting crowding their inbox. I love that code blocks are (mostly) supported. It would be great if we could further use markdown to add a language and get syntax highlighted.
I can't think of much that needs improvement here. I do like that I can select what/when I want notifications for.
Slack is allowing us to keep in touch as team members and quickly/easily instant message other people for a quick question or to hop on a meeting.
The easiness and rapidness available to communicate
The UI, it isn't very userfriendly for non tech savy
Communication, Video calls, team management, recognition and fast problem solving.
I like all the options and custom abilities for slack. The chat option features are like nothing I have seen before in a business professional manner. It mixes fun with work and accessibility.
The dislikes are very few. I honestly don't have any dislikes. The one dislike that I have is that I can't be on it more and use it with my family. No complaints here.
Slack is solving the problem of communication in the workplace. The solution to efficient workplace communication has been solved and it has been solved by slack.
Ease of use & universal acceptance (everyone uses it)
I dislike the amount of integrations with other software tools in our stack, Slack could certainly improve in this department.
Slack is solving the problem of real-time communication, as well as being a solution for in-house data/message storage and collection.
Great integration, easy to read, and take action.
Nothing, it is a great app for corporate communications.
Collaborate with the team.
I like that Slack has a very user-friendly interface. It's easy to navigate, and the colors add a little fun to our day- to- day work tasks. I also like that the different rooms provide opportunities for employees to engage outside work-related topics. Features like Slack "huddles" make it easier to communicate with employees without having to jump around different applications.
I feel like the search tools on Slack need improvement. When trying to find previous conversations especially using keywords, the search results aren't optimal and requires extra digging/effort on my end to find the most relevant results.
Communication, definitely. It's a quick and easy way to reach out to employees without having to draft an e-mail. The message alerts and tag features make sure nothing is missed, and the channels encourage employee engagement. It's a great way to send company-wide announcements, and the GIFs allow us to make them more fun and personal. It's definitely the best way we are able to reach employees.
The facility to create closed groups, "huddle", helps with sharing screens and all the reminders from many extensions. Basically is the best software to manage communication between all coworkers and projects.
there aren't many options for notifications , it only shakes the icon on mac and it doesn't have any pop up or something to see if we have a message or notification till I open it.
I can be in constant contact with my coworkers and also I can se all the updates for groups and share information, code and images. So is solving my contact with them.
The ability to have SLACK calls and CHANNELS
Shortcuts are not universal. And this makes it challenging to use it with just a keyboard.
Communication and Visibility while working remotely.
Easy to utilize, lifetime messages ( stores everything)
The videoconference aspect is not good enough to daily use.
Keep our company teams communicate. Intregate easy with deloper tools. Slack is the MUST app to have in a software development team.
how easy it is to have instant access to youre colleages
I dont like how easy it is for a slack to get lost. i also hate how it randomly removes conversations from your sidebar
crossfunctional collaboration has never been easier
