Conversations feel very much like they would in person. Each participant can upload their image(s), and in our case, posters. We use a photo of our actual meeting room, so our brand is visible throughout the meeting. The cost for a one-day conference, which in our case was a one-month membership plus extra minutes, was negligible.

We have no problem with SpatialChat. They eliminated the problem we had in earlier meetings with compatibility. At our most recent meeting, everyone heard clearly, and we had a problem-free experience.

We are a DOE-funded consortium comprised of nine institutions, which include three federal labs. Our members live and work across the USA. In this covid world, we can safely accomplish our goals of sharing data, solving problems, planning for the future, and getting to know each other using SpatialChat.

SpataialChat allows interactivity way better than traditional formats of Zoom or Teams, particularly in big meetings 20-200 peope.

Some echo-related issues should be resolved. For example, sound of the shared video goes out through speakers and then into the system through the microphone. With many participants, at majority using speakerphones rather than headsets, this becomes very vulnerable.

I am running a large conference (150+ participants) and would not even attempt making it in Zoom.

We enjoyed the ease of use and short learning curve. Our attendees liked the ability to move around the space and interact with folks, as well as the ability to move aside and have more personal conversations. Customizing the background and entering a personal profile that was visible to attendees were also features that were easy to use and appreciated.

It would have been nice if we could assign more roles beyond admin and attendee. It would be nice to be able to "tag" speakers or other folks that made it fast for other attendees to identify.

Our goal was to have a virtual event that mimicked a general networking event as closely as possible. In this regard, we felt SpatialChat was a success. The feedback from our attendees was very positive.

The best thing about SpatialChat is in the name - it's the spatial component of the platform. With the ability to customize different rooms and easily control access to them, SpatialChat offers a way for attendees to explore and communicate in unique, flexible environments. My organization used SpatialChat for a post-conference networking event, in which we held discussion events on diversity in the workforce, followed by chats in the "bar" and a live-streamed cocktail mixing event. The flexibility of this platform is only limited by the organizer's creativity and ability to generate graphic content for the background. In my opinion, SpatialChat offers the best way to bring the networking exchanges of in-person conferences to the online age. After many of these events were made digital (or hybrid) due to COVID, there has been a struggle to replace the personal feel of networking interactions. SpatialChat offers the best solution (that I know of) to get a bit more personality and relaxed conversation out of large groups of people that mimics real-life interactions. Zoom and other platforms don't provide easy solutions to chat as small groups when hundreds of people may be online. SpatialChat found a way to capture that perfectly, and I look forward to organizing my next event with this platform.

There are some limits on the customization of the spaces, particularly if you want to plan live streaming events. For example, we had a major delay for a live-streamed drink mixing/trivia event. In the end it was fine, and everyone was happy, but it is best to talk with a SpatialChat representative to make the most of your space. Definitely take the time to customize your space, create your own graphics, design your own events, etc. This may take some time, but it's worth it! The price is high for one day rooms, but it still makes for a fun event, so plan accordingly.

A significant challenge has been connecting early-career professionals and students to businesses and professionals in my field through an informal chatting platform. This platform equalizes the playing field a bit, making group conversations more approachable for everyone, no matter the stage of their career.

The customer service was impeccable. Our Spatial Chat account manager was terrific to work with. Responsive, collaborative, and always helpful, we felt supported, and she was a key contributor to the success of our event on Spatial Chat. The Spatial chat platform was an intuitive, innovative, and easy-to-use platform that fit our needs to accommodate a wide audience. We evaluated several other platforms in-depth and Spatial Chat was the clear choice.

Lack of available analytical and quantitative data and the inability to have 1:1 messaging. I believe the communications feature will be enhanced.

SpatialChat has a physical presence for the participant that is missing from other platforms such as zoom, teams, etc. By that I mean they can move their icon around the screen. This simple functionality brings two amazing benefits: - People can only be influenced to do things and only do them if they choose to and when they are ready. Being forcefully removed by a producer from a conversation can't be done here and it dramatically changes the feel of the platform in a very positive way - Their physical presence allows people to communicate 'with their feet' as it were. Voting, aligning to ideas, etc are all possible as they are in person Its very easily customisable and with a creative brain you can easily develop engaging and powerful experiences for people

The risk when screen sharing of the feed failing and people not seeing the (usually slide deck) being shared. The ability to upload a deck to it would be a great next step. Thats all the issues i've had with it. There are simple additions that would enhance the space further.

Participant engagement is much higher. The physicality allows us to re-explore what we used to do in person into a digital space as well and its much quicker when well run than say zoom.

SpatialChat has re-engineered the way we think about meeting online. It is great to be able to move around the computer screen the way you would move about an actual room. As you approach a group of attendees, you can hear their conversation and interact. It is the next best thing to being there live and in person.

There were some missing features (user management, security) but overall the platform was very easy to use and well liked.

It has become our go to solution for holding online social and networking events.

Attendees to our Mentorship Conference really told me that they felt closer than they had felt to their colleagues in a long time. We have all been working from home since the start of the Pandemic and Spatial Chat really brought us together - almost literally.

The text fields and graphics could use more creativity. I imagine something like Mural in the spaces to create more out of such a cool space.

We are bringing people together when we can't be in the same room. We also held a first-time virtual global event outside of Zoom. People have zoom fatigue

It is the tool closest to a real-life experience because the participants can walk around a room and smoothly join groups and conversations.

Nothing. It is an overall good experience. There is sometimes room for improvement, but the spatial chat team is always open to feedback and fixes bugs straight away.

We organised scientific conferences. It is essential for us that the guests can follow lectures and stroll around poster sessions or the cafeteria for networking within the same tool. People are free to move between rooms and to get in contact. Especially for newcomers, it can be interesting to approach a group of people and listen before joining the conversation.
