You can't break it! The sites are beautiful user-friendly, and make it impossible to break the site. You might have to compromise your vision, but then you can't mess it up.
The downside is not being able to customize it exactly how you want, but for your own good.
Squarespace is user-friendly so we have more control over our site without having to hire a web developer.
I love that it's so easy for me to control and make changes so I'm not constantly paying someone to make updates. It was easy to get a domain and get the whole process started. My site looks incredibly professional and not at all "templated"
It would have taken a long time for a layperson like myself to create the website from scratch. It all depends on your skill set but there weren't a lot of templates that would have easily worked for a copywriter. Most portfolio sites were for image based portfolios, not copy based.
Easy way place for a small business owner to create and host a website
It's intuitive and easy to figure out. I like that it includes not only web hosting and simple website development, but also email capabilities. Plus, blog hosting is also easy.
It has some limitations when it comes to design because the themes limit what you can put where on a page, but for the most part is does what I need it to do and it's failry easy to navigate.
It's an all-in-one solution, allow us to host our website, blog posts, and our email list. It's not a robust CRM, but it works for a weekly newsletter email, which is what we send.
I really like the ease of using Squarespace. I am not a tech person and I was able to build my own professional-looking website, which saved me a lot of money as a new business owner.
I don't like that when you have a form, you are not able to just have a first name. The way the forms are set up are either no name or first and last name. It would be nice to have an option that allows you to collect just the first name.
It allows me to have an online presence for my business which is really important to me since I am 100% virtual. It also allows me to link my shop, my blog, my offers, etc.
Ease of use and website can look as pro as you want to if you take the time to build it so...
Few things like header settings and link sizing could be easier to navigate custom settings...
Recommending applications that integrate well with SquareSpace is super helpful-- easy options for every facite of whatever business your in makes having a website super easy.
I love that Squarespace allows you to have easy control over any changes that need to be made, so it's a small learning curve for my clients.
Some things need coding for extra customization, which can be tricky when you're trying to DIY.
Squarespace allows any person, brand, or business to have an online presence. With just a bit of planning, you can have a website up in no time!
User friendly, easy to learn and design, great integrations, customization, and looks excellent on mobile.
Zapier is necessary for a lot of data collection (not all), and I'd love to send straight to ActiveCampaign instead.
Data collection, on site sales, traffic analytics, and monitoring/editing on my phone via their app.
I love how straightforward Squarespace is and how nice it can make your website look. I think almost anyone can pick up Squarespace and get a good grasp of it in a very short amount of time, and all of the templates it provides should help anyone pick a decent starting point for their website.
While Squarespace is really good on a surface level, it feels like it can be hard to get super deep down into it. If you have a super niche website requirement then Squarespace might not be able to pull it off.
Squarespace helps make websites for people that don't want to code a website, and it allows them to do it in a visually appealing manner that any person can be proud of after finishing their website.
I love that Square Space makes website design truly simple. The prepaid templates are attractive and make it easy to input your content. The program is intuitive and easy to use, even for someone who doesn't know a lot about web design.
I honestly don't think that there are many features I dislike. The only one would be that you have to pay extra to send email campaigns. However, this can be overcome by connecting your Squarespace site to Convertkit.
Squarespace has helped me get a website for my business up and running very quickly. It's allowed me to combine a blog and store in one site, which is fantastic.
It's honestly the easiest time I've ever had creating my own website. The drag-and-drop tools make redesigning each page SUPER easy. My site looks like I hired a web designer
Honestly no complaints! I know that's strange but I'm honestly having a really hard time thinking of any criticisms. Also pretty affordable for all that's included with your subscription
It's the online home for my small business. As a company of one, I'm glad it almost completely eliminates the need for an assistant to schedule client calls, do intake paperwork, etc.
I like how simple it is to make a beautiful website. The layouts, blocks, and more make everything look good, and it's so easy to use.
You can't completely customize things. It does make it easier that that isn't an option, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to override that and have more options.
Website creation, search engine optimization, and optimizing metadata for our website.
Ease of use, and the functionality to code if needed. Great templates for beginners and easy to use for pros.
Sometimes, the platform feels like it moves slow - uploading images, drag and drop, etc. could use a little improvement and faster speed.
Creating beautiful and functional websites for my clients. People that aren't tech savvy can easily use this platform too. It's my most preferred platform to hand off to clients that need websites.
it's so easy to use, people without and without web experience can navigate it. but despite its simplicity you can design sites that look really impressive.
there are some features that are harder to customize. certain visual formatting things.
The company owns and operates multiple sites that are all tied to the same square space account. teach site has worked well for the needs of the company.
When I volunteered for a local nonprofit we used Squarespace for their website. It was very easy to maintain.
There was nothing I didn't like about it.
Easy to maintain and update a website quickly.
It's easy to learn, the customization possibilities are endless with CSS, and the e-commerce features are smooth.
If you use only a template without customizations, it can look too similar to everyone else's website and not stand out.
I've been able to easily build and manage multiple websites. I can easily post blogs, add sales pages, receive inquiries, and have a home for my business online.
Squarespace makes it easy to create beautiful websites that can be as simple or intricate as your organization needs them to be.
I don't have any significant complaints about Squarespace. One feature that I am disappointed they do not have is a more stair-stepped menu system for sub-categories inside tabs from the home page of websites. Because the homepage is the most visited place on our website, I would like to create a tree of options that can expand when visitors choose different categories in the menu from the home page.
Squarespace is an excellent platform for creating a website that is automatically both desktop and mobile optimized. Squarespace also has impressive features for blogs, events, and different forms. Another beneficial feature is the ease of use for adding and changing content to keep all information current.
It's super easy to use. You do not have to have a lot of knowledge to start your website and get going. For example, I had a domain already, and I was able to link it to my Squarespace easily. If you don't have a domain they let you get one through them!
I wish there were more options for websites, like if creators of websites could easily give you a customized website, so you don't have to go through taking one everyone uses. Also, I wish some of the social media features uploaded more quickly; it's a tad bit slow, or sometimes it will pull up an older account from your last sync.
I love being able to have my blog but also have my socials and products I recommend. It's super easy to have an updated website when using Squarespace and the price is affordable as well!
Sites are all clean and so so easy to use.
Not much to dislike. You can go in and customize EVERYTHING. Love it
I have created sites for friends using squarespace. Its cheap and easy and fast and looks incredible!
Intuitive templates make it easy to add all sorts of functionality
Occassionally have to re-do something but I think that is user error as I become more familiar with the software
Making our website dynamic. We link our social feeds so there is always new information on the site
Squarespace has commerce availability (the price is slightly higher). The Commerce portion of Squarespace is easy to set up and you can add all sorts of variables (clothing sizes, color,etc.). You can create various page layouts that should suit most people and small businesses that don't want to go through the trouble of learning how to code. Other website services offer similar layouts, but Squarespace has a robust service that rarely has gone off line or had disruptions to its service.
Squarespace offers to create your own domain name when you sign up. If you already have a domain name, Squarespace offers plenty of ways to embed it as your page name (ie: www.mybusiness.com), but it often isn't as easy as the step by step instructions offered through Squarespaces' troubleshooting pages. Be aware of that as its impact on your website's visibility could be a problem.
While social media sites like Facebook, Tic Toc, Instagram and Twitter are popular resources for most bands and musicians, it should not be the primary method of promoting your music. The next popular social media platform might not be the ideal way to promote your music, tour dates and merchandise. Squarespace helps bands have a web presence without the trappings of social media. You can link to the popular social media through Squarespace, but in a format that promotes your art or music exclusively. I have been able to assist a band with over 12 albums in their catalog using Squarespaces' commerce and flexibility to create a place for fans to discover more than the latest music from their favorite band.
