The interface and usability are just one of many things I enjoy. Whether finding clients or hiring freelancers; It's an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Watching projects unfold from vision to a cohesive presentation is where the magic happens!

The portfolio presentation needs to revamp certain elements. Idealy so freelancers can showcase better personal projects and or work created outside of Upwork, rather than the projects completed internally.

Working with clients and progressing my artistic abilities, Upwork has given me insight into handling projects more professionally and proficiently. Learning and gaining experience are some of the many assets I have gained while using Upwork.

It's fairly easy to find someone to help you with any project you are needing help with. Once you find a few solid people that you work well with you can continue to work with those people on many projects. And if more help is needed you just post a job looking for more help and if anyone is interested they can answer your ad and you can quickly and easily see what other work they have done, their reviews from other people etc. It's a great way to work with people from all over the world with so many different talents!

When you first start working with new people on Upwork it is hard to know if they can and will do the quality of work you are looking for. I have had some bad experiences with that but most of the time the people I have worked with have met or exceeded my expectations. Sometimes I have had a hard time getting a hold of the person while they are in the middle of a project for me. They have gone MIA for a month and it worries me. When this happens I am not really sure what I should do. Especially in the situation, I am dealing with now, the artist is almost finished with the project, the work looks amazing but I haven't received any final files yet and I haven't heard from them for over a month now. I have paid them some of the money but I still have one milestone left to pay on the project and they still have to get me the final work, but I'm just getting no response now. So that worries me and it's hard to know what to do in this situation.

I require help often to keep up with my workload and we are unable to hire more full-time employees so Upwork is very helpful when I need a little help with a project or anything that I can't finish on my own by the deadline. It's really nice to get some help from Upwork users and release a bit of the stress that is on me.

Being able to work, talk, and pay freelancers completely within the software. You're able to review their past work and make sure they're the right person for the job before you hire them.

Every once in a while you may get a person that doesn't complete the job. But it's not often.

Upwork is a great platform to connect freelancers with clients. We've used Upwork for many one off projects and have been able to check a lot of tasks off of our list with the help of the freelancers we've hired and still work with.

Freelancers should be able to be paid immediately instead of having to wait a week.

Upwork allows us to quickly search for specially skilled contractors and bring them on board in a quick manner. Sometimes within a day or two of expressing a need, we'll have someone signed on to help, be it for a few hours a week or on a part time basis.

Most or all work history both for both clients and contractors is visible, sometimes with amounts shown.

We need a very diversely skilled staff for small projects at a time, which is perfectly suited to Upwork. We also need experts fluent in multiple languages, which Upwork has helped us find as well

I like that I don't have to do much work to find candidates. The platform is very easy to use and intuitive. I didn't need to complete a tutorial in order to use the platform.

We did not have anyone in our company who was experienced with graphic design, specifically for ebooks, so I quickly found someone on Upwork for a reasonable price. We've continued to use this individual's talents for other projects. It's quick and easy to find someone to fill the role.

Most of our projects involve custom programming in PHP, Javascript and Python, which are all skills we've had difficulty finding locally. Upwork makes it easy to find the right person for the job and we've had absolutely no issues so far. The talent has been knowledgable, easy to work with, and faster than I ever imagined.

I wish listing a budget price was optional. Some projects I'd like more bid-style, instead of guessing what the project is worth and most applicants just agreeing to the total budget.

Upwork Support, Verified Clients, Escrow services, billing, and transaction history & management, we have no worry of managing the accounts and payments as Upwork does it for me. Also one extremely beneficial plus point: they deduct their share after getting ours, not like other freelancing portals that deduct the payment at the time of winning the job.

The vast community and the quality of project leads on Upwork is fantastic. Also, the entire Upwork setup is very easy to use and helps the freelancers and agencies a lot to expand their client base.

Recent changes in the project bidding system seem to be making the system a bit more complex and less user-friendly.

The main benefit of using Upwork is the ability to reach new clients across the world and get great visibility via work history.

Overall ease of use and the user interface/website design. Everything makes sense as to where it is located, and posting a listing/hiring someone for work is highly intuitive.

The "milestone" system for the different deliverables on a contract makes sense, but it does cause a lot of stress on the techs that we hire through the site. They need to ensure we send payments on the dates conscribed to the milestones or affects their overall rating on the site. If it is a laid-back project without solid dates, this adds some unnecessary steps and creates a need to play with timelines instead of just a simple system where you pay when you have what you need regardless of the dates in the system.

We have been able to outsource a wide variety of work. We have hired a voice talent for a phone greeting, and we have hired a python specialist to make a custom script for us. We have also hired teams for some simple tasks to speed up workflows and relieve pressure from our in-house staff, such as making excel macros and dealing with massive spreadsheets, or even simple menial tasks as moving/creating simple files on a vast scale.

There is a large number of talented freelancers on the other side of the two sided marketplace. Platform makes it easy to source candidates, vet them, hire them, and manage them. Have had great success in finding quality workers within budget for all sorts of projects.

There is little to dislike about the platform itself. I think Upwork has done a good job trying to build the product to mitigate a lot of the risks but you also can't control for everything. The platform does seem to be a bit more advantageous for Clients than Freelancers as every project I submit becomes pretty competitive pretty quickly but for me using it exclusively as a Client it is a benefit.

We solve a lot of problems with Upwork. We've gotten video editing, web research + scraping, html email design, graphic design, and virtual assistant / ops support. Been able to take time intensive but low value work off of our full time employees as well as source skills we don't have in house basically "on demand" and for a reasonable cost.

I have found and worked with several talented freelancers on Upwork. The most valuable part of the platform is the ability to communicate with freelance talent before hiring. I like to be able to discuss contract details and project timelines before hiring a freelancer.

Upwork has a wealth of freelance talent, but it takes some work to find the best talent, and some of the talent is misrepresenting their location or true identity.

The biggest benefit to using Upwork is that I am able to find talent for short term contracts that I cannot find locally. Such a rich platform made by a lot of professional workers. Reviews help you to make a preliminary evaluation of the worker. There are so many people very skilled for what you need for your business

There are a wide variety of contractors. No matter what the job I've been faced with outsourcing, I've always had great success using Upwork.

Once starting on a project, it can be difficult to keep track of different tasks through the messaging system. It would be nice if there could be some type of task list or checklist that could display next to the messages field.

I've been able to hire multiple programmers, writers, marketers, and virtual assistants over the years. Utilizing the help on Upwork has enabled me to save a lot of time from doing things myself.
