In long-term commitments, the client typically is not satisfied because the Toptal fee is not reduced with the time (even though Toptal isn't actively doing anything at all). Additionally, if the client wants to hire the employee directly, the buy-out fee is really expensive and doesn't decrease with time (which would be logical).
I've been able to reach international enterprise clients keeping a good financial safety, allowing us to become freelancers with much more ease. I'm getting paid much more than what it's typical in my country.

The most helpful thing about toptal is just the client selection.
How rates are communicated, there is more demand than supply when it comes to job offerings; because the network is more extensive, it's harder to start with a client. 2019 I landed a job because of the slow process, and there were few non-clients.
Just the client discovery process and the legal, however, I haven't used these services and hope not to use them, but know for some cases and this is a great bonus for freelancers
Toptal had software engineers when we needed them most. Our company had reached out to a number of agencies to find talent and we were unable to get any assistance. Toptal were able to assist with our needs and helped us to progress our software. The team at Toptal were very helpful and worked with us to try and find solutions to reduce to overall spend and continue our relationship.
Toptal provides software engineers that are high quality but also higher priced. With only one payment currency option, the conversion rate impacted the ability to maintain the relationship with Toptal at this stage of the business.
Toptal have engineers available when we could not find any in Australia. They have a talent pool that has significant experience, and we were able to get a viable product created and released to market.
The best part of Toptal is, that this company has lots of projects to choose from, and if you cannot find a match for yourself, Toptal staff will help you to find something.
The downside - from contractor's point of view - is that the contract may be terminated on short notice.

As a developer, I could always do my work, but I couldn't "sell" it properly. It was always hard to find new clients; Toptal covers this aspect in the best way possible. A group of agents takes care of finding new clients based on our knowledge and making the best matchings possible.
There is not much to say here. From day one, working in Toptal was an incredible journey and still is. Although "dislike" is a very strong word, if I had to pick something, I would like to see more features and options regarding the debit card provided by Toptal for payments. For example, there's no 3d security, and I would like to see the possibility of making payments in cryptocurrencies.
As I already mentioned, my biggest problem was not only finding new customers but keeping a constant flow of work. Toptal covered this gap; since then, the collaboration has been without serious problems.

Toptal has plenty of interesting jobs and clients to work with, in their network. They do the salary negotiation with the client, so we won't be pushed to receive as little as possible.
Overall there is not much to say here. Perhaps some internal processes could be more transparent, like when we apply for a job sometimes we don't have good feedback during the process.

Using the Toptal platform is incredibly intuitive, and the customer service is second to none. The onboarding process is swift and efficient.
The only thing I wish was a little different was more clarity for a short-term contract about having to give ten days' notice to end the engagement. I have ended up scheduling a long break until the end of the contract so I don't have to pay for when my contractor has finished the product.
Finding the right engineer at the right price fast. It has enabled us to build our product much faster and get it out to our customers.
