Their server performance is excellent. We almost never have any downtime. Their support for WordPress developers is outstanding, both in terms of built-in tools and services as well as their 24x7 support by knowledgeable and cheerfully-helpful support engineers.
Nothing, really. There have been no significant problems for us in using WPEngine since we began using them in 2013.
We need high-performance, high-reliability managed WordPress hosting for our clients, whose websites we manage. Occasionally we also need experienced WordPress-savvy support engineers to talk with regarding new challenges and requirements that result from client requests. WPEngine's infrastructure and support personnel have fulfilled those needs very, very well for us.
Security! Our site was hacked and redirected when hosted by another provider. Since that ordeal, my main concern of security has been relieved by our new relationship with WP Engine.
Occasionally, as a non-tech savvy business owner, I have questions regarding my WordPress site. Finding the right answers can be frustrating.
The daily backups by WP Engine and the ease of restoring one of those backups is a terrific benefit. Our previous host did little in this regard. As the owner of a small company, I wear many hats. My technology hat is small but with WP Engine I find that I can accomplish what is necessary to keep our sites updated.
Came for the security and speed, stayed for the customer service.
Haven't found something yet, but if I do i'm pretty sure they would come to a resolution for me.
Security. i have hosted with a few other services and had hacks, even managed hosting providers. WP Engine has stopped all of that and given me much needed sleep at night.
WP Engine has awesome tech support, a nearly 100% uptime platform, and very tight security. None of our sites has ever been hacked or compromised on the WP Engine platform.
I've had multiple sites on WP Engine for a few years now, and there's nothing I dislike about it. All good so far.
We have multiple business and charity sites, all hosted in one place. The new PHP7 upgrades and very fast servers give us really fast page loads and good scalability for our e-commerce sites.
The best thing about WP Engine is the support, hands down. Everyone from front-line CSRs to the higher tiers goes above and beyond to help resolve issues, and they're all extremely nice in the process. They live and breathe WordPress and that deep understanding of the CMS' application layer is very useful.
Having additional data centres available would be useful—particularly in China.
The managed service nature of WP Engine is a huge value add for our business. We're able to scale up our infrastructure quickly and in a very lean manner. I can rely on their team to maintain the infrastructure so my team can focus on building product.
The support is absolutely outstanding. I've never had an issue or problem they could not solve and the wait on chat is usually around 1 minute
There is nothing I dislike about WP Engine.
I offer hosting for my clients as well as for my own sites so I need great support, as well as fast & secure servers. WPE delivers that and more.
The support is great. Love the fact that they don't do email which just slows servers down, especially with spam.
The back-end admin area is still confusing. With live sites, Transferable sites and staging sites, I'm still confused.
Getting clients on their own accounts with hosting has helped as opposed to my company hosting them through WPEngine.
I like the 24-hour support and the initiatives to incorporate testing tools.
Not the most inexpensive option. You have to purchase hosting in blocks to get a discount meaning you're paying for space even when you're not using it.
Reliable managed hosted that has superior security.
The speed, performance and reliability of the hosting. I have to mention the tools included as well- specifically the ability to copy installs and the fully automated site migration.
Being that it's managed hosting it comes with a few hindrances like no SSH and configuration limitations, but that is not a WPEngine limitation, it comes standard with Managed Hosting and is necessary to maintain the positives of the service.
As an agency we service, support and maintain well over 30+ WordPress site installs at any given time. Pretty much everything. The support is incredible. I've put them through rigorous stress tests and they've always been able to help., The range and ease of services such as automated SSL, staging server, migration tool, CDN and more. Makes my life as a dev so easy. Performance also has outranked all other service providers and I've been through them all.
No email or domain registration, would love an all in one hosting solution. That installs are sold in groups and not a pay as much as you need this makes scaling difficult as I would like to be able to add installs as I need them instead of paying for 10 when I only need 3.
