It's very easy to navigate and find exactly what you need
Would wish they had an email hosting option as well so I can combine it with the website
Hosting multiple websites all in one place for several regions
We don't have to worry about our sites and web apps when we host with WPE. Their product performs exceptionally well. It's secure. If we need support, their team is there and ready to help (and they actually know their product). The peace of mind goes a long way. I can't imagine hosting elsewhere.
Account reps tend to move around or get promoted a lot. It can be fatiguing where we have to start over, relationally. Also, the new reps assigned to us are always eager to connect, learn more, etc. That's great -- except when you have to do it repeatedly.
WPE doesn't coast. They're always innovating. We don't have to lean on them to adopt new tech. Often, they are informing US of new products and approaches.
The one-click development, staging, and production environments are easy to manage. I also like the Local tool. WP Engine seems to be really invested in the developer experience and trying to improve WordPress development in general.
I wish our reps were a little more involved in our agency partnership. I've gotten a few calendar invites from them, only to have them cancel at the last minute. It makes me feel like we're not a big enough partner or something for them to care about us.
We host 25-30 WordPress websites for our clients and internal tools. WP Engine makes the hosting and maintenance of these sites very easy. We especially like the Smart Plugin Manager so we know that our WordPress plugins are always up to date.
With WP Engine, sites rarely go down, migration is easy, and they provide a ton of great tools for managing your sites.
It's a little more on the pricier side compared to standard hosting packages, and bandwidth can play a larger role in your plan than you may realize.
With tools like WP Local, WP Engine makes building and deploying sites in a consistent and controlled environment straightforward. Daily backups ensure if anything ever goes wrong, you can click a button and go back to before the issue arose.
Their customer support is by far the most helpful support system I've ever used (not just hosting platforms too, any product or service.) In the decade or more that I've used WP Engine, there hasn't been a single instance where my issue didn't get resolved incredibly quickly after hopping on with their support live chat. In addition, their UI is extremely intuitive and fast, and allows me tons of freedom to set up my servers however I want.
Honestly, nothing comes to mind. They're far and away the best option for WordPress hosting, and their pricing is incredibly reasonable. Especially at the enterprise level, they're actually cheaper than many other enterprise hosting options.
Often, hosting can be a significant pain point in the website development space, requiring hours and hours of troubleshooting that wastes everyone's time and money. WP Engine has all but eliminated that problem for my business. Through their incredibly intuitive and powerful UI, I can simply and easily set up my servers however I want, create FTP accounts with robust permissions, and even set up free SSLs for my domains in minutes. And if I do happen to run into an issue, their industry-leading customer support continually blows me away with how quickly they take care of whatever hurdle is in front of me.
I have been using WPEngine for my WordPress hosting needs for the last six years and have been extremely satisfied with the service. The platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it simple to manage client websites. The customer support team is also top-notch, always available to assist with any issues or concerns. The site speed and uptime have been excellent, giving me peace of mind that client websites are always running smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend WPEngine to anyone needing a reliable and efficient WordPress hosting solution."
It's worth noting that some users may find the pricing higher than other hosting providers, especially for small or personal websites. Additionally, WPEngine only supports WordPress and doesn't offer other website-building options. This can be an issue for users who want to use a different platform or have multiple websites on various platforms.
The benefits of using WPEngine are: Peace of mind Improved website performance Improved security Efficient customer support Easy website management Regular backups Automatic updates for WordPress and its plugins
Comes with multiple environments useful for testing and development. Wp cli access through ssh, free ssl certificates, automated backups, easy to sync environments
The wait time for support has gotten longer than it used to be for live chat. The limited disk space and bandwidth has also been a problem for some of my clients
Makes it simple to recommend clients to use wpengine, as in the end it makes my job easier as opposed to other hosting companies that do not offer the same level of service
The fact that WP Engine automates backups, migrations, and plugin updating allows people to focus on their business value and less on maintenance and reliability.
The only downside to WP Engine is that the pricing might be too steep for hobby level users who don't have the volume to justify all of the features that WP Engine has to offer.
Backups, Migrations, easy account transfer, uptime, whitelabeling, invoicing. All of these things are features I didn't realize I needed until I had to try to manage them myself. Then when I figured out how to do these correctly, I was thrilled to see that WP Engine was doing it for me.
Being able to manage several environments quickly and easily is an incredibly useful help for developers. LargeFS (AWS S3 ready) infrastructure also a bonus and the Customer Service is truly outstanding. Happy to have refer to WPE all my WP clients!
Cache exclusion management could use a manual input, but Support is always happy to do it. Maybe a search/replace system and an S3 GUI navigator and deleted media sync (in case of LargeFS) would be the ultimate tools that WPE is missing. Error logs dont seem complete at times and audit routines do clutter custom error logs, but nothing problematic to be fair... it's really hard to come up with something I would definitely change.
Managing several environments for websites, cloning them over easily, easy backups and rollbacks, AWS S3 ready... not sure what else one would need to develop/debug WP sites quickly and professionally.
I've used WPEngine for 5 years now, and they've been one of the best and most reliable hosting companies out there. Their support is always helpful, and I rarely need to contact them more than once for an issue.
Honestly? There isn't a lot to dislike. The only thing would be they need a more in-depth usage dashboard, but they're making strides in that. I would also say having the ability to customize a new install stack would be amazing.
WPEngine solves my hosting needs for my own site as well as my clients. Their plans are generally expensive but usually well worth it, especially for high-end sites.
