At the time I used it, the very best feature for us was the on-demand backup option. We were creating a lot of pretty extensive technology changes and content changes and the ability to easily backup and restore the project was very helpful if there was ever a bug introduced. The upgrades options and dev server generation tools were also very helpful.
There really wasn't much that I disliked. As a service, the cost has been prohibitive for any of my smaller personal projects, but that is more about my budget than an excessive pricing model. I think the support and stability you get from it is worth the price, and for businesses, it is more than worth it for the peace of mind.
The biggest problem being solved was stability throughout development and content creation. We transitioned to a ReactJS based UI utilizing WP API's from a fully integrated PHP software. That was a very extensive project, so the scheduled and unscheduled backups were ideal for maintaining performance for our users even throughout development. It definitely checked all the boxes for hosting and content restoration. During that time we encountered a few large scale outages from Amazon as well as some issues with common JS dependencies that brought down our site. The ability to restore quickly and mitigate those disasters was essential.
Support: Best in class. They are quick to respond, they do not use call centers and are extremely knowledgeable and proficient. They do not upcharge to fix most issues and are very helpful in every aspect.
The only caveat is the price. They are not by any means the cheapest hosting, but the service and reliability of uptime make it a non-issue the majority of the time.
Not having any issues with them whatsoever. The main benefits are speed, reliability, support structure, and the fact that they are US based all insure for great service.
WP Engine provides exceptional customer service and also works as a guide to help you enhance and grow your website presence.
There really isn't anything I dislike about WP Engine.
Our site was growing almost exponentially in terms of content and visitors at one point. We actually out grew our previous hosting service.
Very simple managing the websites, everything is on one click such as free SSL, free CDN, backups, staging-production sync...
It's very expensive for hosting a small number of websites. there is no cPanel
In addition to hosting more than 200 sites on VP Engine, we managed to restore the deleted instance after few days and that saved the reputation of our company.
The automatic updates for plugins with a visual check for errors
manual creation of Dev, Test, and PRD sites
Easily manage multiple client sites and keep their WordPress up to date and secure.
Their platform is specifically designed for WordPress sites. The servers, security — all of it is specific to this platform, which makes for a fast and extremely secure network.
We honestly don't have any complaints about WP Engine.
WP Engine's easy-to-use dashboard makes it easy to pull backups before making WordPress updates. The inclusions of an SSL certificate with the site provide great value and savings to our clients. Their customer support is timely and extremely helpful.
It's really easy to integrate various website and the support is always direct and helpful
I did not have problems with the service yet, a few things could be more clear for the user but if you have some experience it works fine
Hosting many wordpress website in a reliable and fast server
WP is easy to navigate, easy to use group think, and easy to build out pages.
Sometimes WP will jump down pages when i'm editing or saving which causes some frustration.
Website building specifically. We host nearly all of our pages on WP. The benefits are WP is fairly easy to use, and complex pages can be made in about 10 minutes.
It is excellent to work with a tech team that actually understands my client's technical needs and is able to assist quickly.
Recently they seem to be understaffed in their online chat.
Our company hosts 100+ of our client's website. We have never had a problem with security or site speed.
The support is second-to-none and available around the clock.
There isn't a lot that I don't like. There are some restrictions that are enforced as to plugins that may be installed on a shared server, but it is for security/performance reasons.
It's very, very easy to deploy between environments, meaning that we can make sure everything is in perfect working order before going live.
