"Very effective web based project management"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Staying organized with tasks and seeing your schedule is awesome. We also love being able to track billable vs. non billable activities and create monthly reports. Being web based makes accessibility from anywhere very convenient.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

It’s a little expensive. It does save us money but it’s but it’s hard to quantify if the monthly ongoing charge is really worth it or not.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Team collaboration and task management across a multi-disciplinary engineering team has been greatly improved as well as more accurate commit dates to customers and forecast of available work.

"Exceptionally flexible and yet structured project management tool. Amazing estimate based engine."
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

- Automatic forecasting and re-forecasting based on estimates at the task level - Great containers to organize work and/or deliverables - Multi person assignment at the Task level (In order or independently) and can be assigned different activities on that task - Amazing reporting capbilties. (project, task, resource, activities) - Excellent views (Board, Project, Completion, Baseline, My tasks...etc) - Good transparency across TEAMS - Excellent assignment methodology across TEAMS or containers - Their priority stacking makes so much sense - Great API, webhooks and exposure of Reports via JSON endpoints

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

- Cannot communicate across workspaces easily. (Multiple business department want to use LP for running projects, but want to be able to assign or leverage resources from another workspace; for example the IT workspace). The ability to have tasks from other workspace "interrupt" the priority or affect scheduling would be amazing and allow more corporations to adopt LP across various operations. - Deeper integration with email/calendar services (For example, if LP could "connect" to my calendar and naturally interrupt/delay my projects because it can see that my time is being eaten up in meetings. Or even take into consideration time away from the office. We use Exchange Online) - Deeper integration with SharePoint Storage or OneDrive - Availability of LP connector in PowerAutomate/O365 (although this is more on developers and Microsoft) - Availability of LP as an app directly in TEAMS (Microsoft)

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

- Shifted 60+ IT members from Excel, Microsoft Project to one common workspace - Transparency on existing projects - Better structure and delivery mechanisms - Better assignment capabilities - Better time logging and tracking by managment - Better engagement with the business (Request forms + Dashboard guests)

"LiquidPlanner: the best tool to organize your projects."
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

It allows to manage the time and resources that are needed to carry out the realization of a project, through this tool we can group the tasks and assign each of the team members to expedite the management of the project to be executed and thus be able to Make a follow-up of what is the period of time the project takes.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

Make improvements in the technical part, which allows it to be implemented in mobile devices and be able to make use of the tool in any place that the user finds without having to go to his team. Improve internet connections so that it not only works optimally when there is a good band signal.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Currently we use software to carry out project management in a better way and have a better overview of them in terms of planning, timeframes and the effectiveness of time it takes to achieve the organization's project. , this management is carried out by team members. Its easy handling helps more team members want to join the use of the program. The tool has been very helpful in our departments because it allows us to organize any type of task, therefore it is very helpful in any department of the company.

"Robust tool for PM, time tracking, communication -- it can be what you make it"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

I appreciate how much this tool can do. It is truly very customizable in so many ways. We initially leveraged time tracking more heavily, but when that was less necessary, we still found tremendous usefulness because you can use it from intake to post-mortem. We used it for 1) scheduling of our release cycles, 2) (self-)assignment of work by team members, 3) management of routine and larger, special projects, 4) intake forms for all standard item types, 5) data analysis/dashboards -- there is a lot of flexibility to tag and label items and even to tie that to your templates/intake forms, and 6) team communication.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

It is one of the more costly options, but we extracted so much value from having it. The team output went up substantially and rework went down as well because the communication log was always there. I also think LP could do more to connect with customers. Initially, the learning curve can be steep, but my reccommendation is to adapt your use to your users and your needs, and then that is 100% addressable.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed to scale up quickly, to build a lot of processes and reduce rework. This meant we needed to prioritize a very large backlog while also tackling incoming new projects. LP's time tracking initially allowed us to get a handle on where the resources were going timewise to advocate for a new path forward and to make some scheduling assumptions more accurate with routine work. Then the flexibility to create dashboards, forms and templates made it possible for us to 1) create and easily improve upon our intake process, 2) build out a calendar to handle the backlog and the new work in separate cycles, and 3) to be transparent about the progress with our stakeholders, without needing to do a lot of cumbersome tallying/reporting, since the tagging and forms rules captured what we needed from intake to completion and LP's dashboard builder is easy to use. Our team was dispersed, and LP also helped to keep everyone aligned on work to be done. The communication features were used daily by the team.

"Great for time tracking and scheduling projects"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

The Gantt chart overviews of the team's workload are very helpful in seeing when a particular team member will be available to work on a project. This helps us schedule new projects and give more realistic estimates of completion time. It's also great to track time in the same place where we schedule projects.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

There's a big learning curve. It's hard to find things and even our experienced users often have to think for a minute on where something is or how to do something in the tool. It's also a little on the pricey side.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

This is the only tool we found that does a good job of accurately representing the "big picture." We use other tools for different things (like task management and project management), but to get an overall snapshot of what people are working on and when they are available to work on new things, Liquid Planner is the best!

What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

The drop and drag of priorities and the ability to email tasks. the Customer Care team helped resolve our issues for the concerns we had after the purchase of the product

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

to be honest the program did not quite work the way we needed, this would be a great product for research and design teams.

"Slightly Overwhelming, Ultimately Comprehensive "
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Provides comprehensive time tracking for small to large projects for unlimited numbers of clients, with good reporting visuals as well as full spreadsheet exports.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

Despite the designers best attempts, it can be pretty overwhelming when working with a large number of projects. It's perhaps best when focused on three or four projects at once, rather than working on a wide range of on-going projects and tasks.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

LiquidPlanner allows us to report on how much time our team are spending with each of our internal 'clients', and gives us some good visuals to ensure we're providing each client with a fairly balanced amount of labour each month.

"Good Product - Mandates you work like it thinks you should "
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Perhaps unironically, what is the best and the worst part of LiquidPlanner is is rigid adherence to it's method of tracking and reporting on projects. I started using LiquidPlanner in an environment where I was trying to get everyone moving in the same general direction from an disorganized mess of project management -- and move us out of spreadsheets.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

The rigidity of the system is both it's strength and it's weakness. If you can completely commit to the LiquidPlanner way of life, it works wonderfully and does all of these amazing things. However, it's a little bit of a situation where if you don't have the whole system running, you are missing out on some really nice features - like estimated end dates.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Project Management tasks suchs as project accounting, resourcing, and overall project tracking where handled through a series of 10-15 spreadsheets -- LiquidPlanner has allowed us to boil that down to just one or two (to make up for the lackluster reporting functionality). Overall, LiquidPlanner has been a huge net positive for us, but their rigidity in their way of doing things with little meaningful customization available has somewhat stalled our roll out.

What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Easy rescheduling and time estimating (having a range is so much more like life than a set time).

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

Analytics needs a lot of work. To export timesheets, you have to reset your search constantly instead of saving most-used searches. It should also show totals on the timesheet page so you don't have to export the data just to tally someone's totals for billing. Also it would be great to get better budgeting tools integrated so you can see (easily) in real time how much of your budget you've used without having to run a separate report. It should be visible to admins/owners somewhere on the projects page or a dashboard widget.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Working with multiple subs outside the office is easy with LP.

"Dialed in on so many fronts, lackluster on others"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

The reporting. LP's reporting is head and shoulders above the rest. The reports are easy to make and provide a great tool for sifting through data. I also like the way the projects are presented. Too many of the competitors make it hard to get a good look at many projects at once. With the LP tree structure I am able to get a feel for where each project stands with just a quick glance. Other features I like are: Timesheet exports are great. Custom fields. Customize-able columns.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

The scheduling is way too cumbersome. We dont even use it. I understand the intent and think it's quite nice, but it just takes too much management to setup the schedule so it provides any value. We still use a Google doc for our scheduling. Multiple owners has proven problematic for us. It was better before. The biggest problem is that if one person logs time to a task it doesnt reduce the overall effort. In theory, it's fine because everyone would be updating remaining efforts but it just doesnt work in the real world. We need much more granular permissions. I'd like to be able to restrict people from setting activities, moving things, running specific reports, setting fields, etc. For our purposes, LP seems to only have two levels of permissions. We desperately need daily timesheet submission. The way it's setup right now we have no way of knowing if people logged their time day to day. It also makes end of the month reconciliation extremely difficult. The portals were not a success for us. We tried getting rid of Basecamp and using portals but it did not work out well. We really need the ability to have custom fields that arent just dropdowns. Doesnt make a lot of sense to not have that ability.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

The ability for everyone to see where each project stands at any given moment has been extremely valuable. Our company digs deep into our numbers and we wouldnt be able to do that with other systems.

"LiquidPlanner saves times and helps us organize."
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

The best feature in LiquidPlanner is the ability to customize our setup to meet our needs. Many tools try to dictate a workflow but LiquidPlanner works well within our current workflow without tedious or complicated configurations.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

I wish that LiquidPlanner had support for project management style documents like project charters and feature specifications. I would also like a higher level project view that gave an indication of all projects currently underway, who was assigned, and how long the project schedule is.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

We would like to easily organize tasks across multiple projects and stakeholders. With LiquidPlanner we can see scheduling for all developers regardless of the project or system they are working on. We can also easily drill down to the tasks we are currently working on to see what needs to be done and what is completed and how long it was worked on.

"LP saved our team SO much time"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

"Liquid Planner Pros and Cons"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

I like that it is all in one place and everyone can log into one spot to access tasks. I like that you can adjust tasks and folders and make changes. I like getting a daily reminder of tasks that I need to complete. I like the timer feature, as then I was able to time my work when I was working from home, and able to get a good snapshot on how long things were taking, plus being an hourly employee, I could track easily and prove I was working.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

I find that it is hard to copy tasks that don't change from year to year. I would like a reoccurring feature so that you can make something go on forever like a calendar entry. I find copying tasks to not always be effective. Once you mark something done, it is hard to adjust. It is also hard to pull a group "query" to see what tasks are coming due, so that we can talk in meetings about what tasks are "on fire." I still have trouble navigating the site and making stuff. I have never had proper training, maybe a tutorial would be helpful when you log in, not sure if this is something that is offered. I feel like there are a lot of features that I nor my team know, so if we did I think it would work more effectively for us.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to pull up Liquid planner during staff meetings and check what needs discussing or is coming due. I like there is one central location. I don't always have the time to make a task, so if there was linkage to outlook, that would be helpful. It is time consuming to make a task/folder. But I like the accountability when it is in the group so others can add to my workload or change things.

"Does a lot well, has room for improvement."
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

I love the level of detail when it comes to separating client projects, assigning due dates and priorities. It also does well with the ability to track time - from estimate to remaining.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

The email alerts can be misleading, some dates are stripped and it may appear that a notice that came through today is due today, though it was a comment from a year ago. Also, the interface is difficult to use at times. I have a hard time finding the exact project or task my manager is referencing on the fly - makes being put on the spot in a meeting very difficult, whereas other tools I've used have "search all" type functions or other more usable sort and find abilities.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Multiple client and multiple task organization. Along with multiple team mates. The main benefit I see is that all the comments related to a specific task are always right there in the task which is nice.

"Simple to use once you get used to it"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

It's great for keeping track of tasks and projects, that's mainly what I use it for. Also like the ability to upload documents to a central place for everyone to review.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

Learning curve was pretty steep. I know they have tutorials and whatnot, but even with those it took a few months to really get the hang of it. Even now though, I'd say we still aren't using it to its full potential.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Project tracking and most recently work hour tracking. It has made our work flow more efficient and helped with collaboration.

"Great for Project Management, not so much for Marketing"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Great way to duplicate tasks and see projects from an overview standpoint as a project manager.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

From a marketer standpoint, it's difficult to keep track of the tasks, there isn't an easy way to see tasks listed out. Also the way it shows priority items is different from other platforms. The learning curve for this product is quite high.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's great to bring together the different teams on a company such as the graphic/web/marketing teams.

"Good product, lacks intuivite"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

I like that you are able to get automated schedules based on people's estimates. Adding the dashboard was great, and I am looking forward to trying the scrum features.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

It is not as intuitive as it should be for regular users. So while I have become an expert on how to use the tool, most of the people I manage are still struggling and making mistakes. A lot of them only use "My work" for example, which causes them to lack greater perspective of the projects they're involved in. And my main pet peeve: it is not possible to export original estimates in any way. Yes, I can set a baseline date, but for 60+ projects that's not very convenient. Also there seem to be no good way to notify me about changes in estimates, even though I follow the whole workspace.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

Scheduling. keeping track of budgets and creating estiamtes.

"Useful tool that is close to becoming vital to our organisation"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

Being able to associate tasks to separate packages and for checklist items to be able to be associated to different team members on a task by task basis. It is is also useful to be able to add notes and associate files with an individual task.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

On bulk uploading multiple tasks in the single line window, you can't add in more data. eg. Max efforts, expected activity, etc. Excel upload of data is very buggy and doesn't offer much feedback on data issues. It would be great if you could set different team members' work piles to be separate of one another if required so that it doesn't affect one another's time frame or schedule. It would be great if this could be integrated with Google Calendar as well.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

The ability to get a picture of resources and who in the team is putting in the most hours to measure performance. The company is also benefiting from working to best case scenario timings as opposed to working within a rough budget. From the data in LP we can then revise our budgets for work and amend how we price a project.

"Helpful and Time Consuming"
What do you like best about LiquidPlanner?

It is extremely helpful to see all the tasks associated with a project in one place and the timeline to achieve them.

What do you dislike about LiquidPlanner?

LiquidPlanner is helpful if you input every single task and track your time properly on each project. This can be time consuming and I often feel my organization needs a project manager just to input info into LP. We do have an external consultant that adjusts the dashboard, add projects, and trains people on how to use LP. Even with this consultant, I find LP cumbersome. For my organization, we need to code our time to LP and a payroll clock, which feels like double work. It would be awesome if LP integrated with payroll applications to solve that problem.

What problems is LiquidPlanner solving and how is that benefiting you?

LP most definitely helps keep me on track and let's me know if I'm not on track to finish a project on time. Based on the information you submit into LP, it will let you know the timeline for the project.
