Can see the rendering of email on different devices including desktop and mobile for QA. Can update devices. Integrates with SFMC.
Sometimes it says the code is broken in litmus but it's fine when we test it in the browser
Have increased usage limit by upgrading to enterprise plan. Can integrate with SFMC.
Litmus is very easy to use and checks against all possible email clients so you save time by not having to go to each one individually. I also like that it integrates with SalesForce so I can do the checks directly there instead of having to toggle between the two platforms.
Nothing that I can think of at the moment
Making sure our emails work across all email clients and views for consistency.
Editing your emails live. Being able to see how your code effects your email is a wonderful tool
So far I've had nothing but a great experience
Ensuring that the emails are rendering properly across all platforms
I can keep using the same share URL and send multiple new tests to that URL instead of constantly making a new one for each new test for the same email.
Sometimes I can't see certain email clients because they don't load properly, and I have to resend the email.
The ability to test emails to make sure they're all consistent before they get sent to the client.
Ease of use and excellent customer service.
The pricing is not too flexible for a small agency, the usage is not contant so the needs vary
formatting issues with specific email clients, such as Microsoft
The most significant upside of using Litmus is the possibility to test the emails in a lot of different email clients. I recently noticed that Litmus has come with a drag and drop builder, too (might have existed for a while?), and that will be super helpful for the team I'm on where I'm the only one who knows how to code.
The biggest downside of Litmus, as far as I can see, is that it is made mainly for developers. If the Litmus builder had been as easy to use as the Mailchimp builder, it would've empowered many people to create a lot of beautiful emails. But now, it seems like we need someone to code up modules and templates first. If that is not the case, I haven't found out how.
I'm not ending up sending out emails that look terrible for a vast majority of our subscribers, that's for sure!
We work with a wide array of stakeholders, from Gen Z through to X - including professionals and general consumers. The previews and QAs ensure our HTML from Salesforce Marketing Cloud is rendering well across many use cases. Moreover, sending tests directly to the builder and tag team members allows us to proofread and approve content blocks effortlessly. I have already recommended to industry peers who've experienced similar benefits. It's an end-to-end solution, too, meaning I can set up tracking and analysis to augment and tweak future campaigns. In short: Love the builder, previews, QAs, and analytics. Love Litmus.
Nothing for me. Brilliant for teams and collab. I would like a bit more functionality in the folder structuring and filing, particularly as we move further down the line in involvement, but that's just me being picky with housekeeping.
I'll list them, for ease of reading: - proofreading - device testing - metrics/analytics and ROI rationale - team collaboration and SLT approval - historical reviewing and content archiving Honestly, any marketer performing direct comms to end users - needs Litmus in their lives. There isn't a better solution out there for testing pure HTML through email clients, testing and reviewing sends as a team, and seeing the ROI and effectiveness of what you're doing. The best ESP management tool I've used in my career.
Robust and very thorough QA and testing features.
There are so many features, at first, it can be a little tricky to navigate the interface and get around.
Making sure emails are consistently error-free and user-friendly.
It is super easy for me to upload emails
I dislike that you have to name your email twice
We have better email insight with the analytics section provided.
Love being able to send samples of the emails to our approvers where they can make comments and see both desktop and mobile versions. This has really improved the efficiency of our timeline and shortened timelines.
I dislike that some integrations to marketing automation platforms are included in the mid-tier but others are only offered in the higher tiers.
We have solved the problem of our review process. We used to send samples to our marketers that they would print, hand-write changes, and then give back to us. We would then have to send another sample once we made the update. It was much more time consuming and cumbersome than how we are able to do it with online reviews and comments in litmus.
This is the second company I have worked at where I advocated to incorporate Litmus into their email process. It seamlessly integrates with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and makes collaborating with multiple teams and the UAT process a dream. The browser previews of devices and additional analytics are the key features I leverage for every email. It is the surest way to double check your email will render beautifully for your subscribers.
One minor update I would like to see is when you are updating your email to a new version the only way to sync after the first version is through an email send. While this is easy with SFMC preview send, it be nice to just resync directly from Marketing Cloud. Other than that I would just like to see more from the platform! I want all my email accessories in one place like GIF makers, Countdowns, and more! For now they are outstanding in updating the current tools they have such as their code builder.
Litmus became a very important asset when it came to collaborating with multiple team members to review and approve emails. Instead of having separate chats and multiple email threads all the comments and approvals are in one place for everyone to see. This helped streamline our review process almost instantly and it's so user friendly it hardly took any training.
Creating multiple versions of emails easily and then testing them while I create more! It allows me to test the emails and know they work before my team will test them themselves. The interface is super user friendly. I like the functionality to be able to select which email clients I want to view
No sorting option to organise my tests by date or name
Testing my emails before they go to be tested by the marketing teams
Analytics reporting is super detailed & provides fantastic insights into how & where your blasts are reaching people. The platform rendering shows how well your blasts are being design & translating to different OS.
TBH, for our purposes it works well for what we do.
Litmus was super helpful in moving our blasts to cater to mobile devices. Our designs now are pretty close to air tight on both Apple, Desktop and Outlook.
Litmus makes it very easy to see how my emails are going to appear in the inbox of various providers. If i had to pick, i would say the best use i have is identifying responsive issues and the monster that is outlook.
I wish there was a real time html editing ability vs having to edit and save to view the update. Not too much of a bother however.
Litmus has seriously decreased the amount of time spent in QA. That's a huge time suck especially as tech changes. It also helps me identify issues along the way.
The number of email clients available is awesome. Plus, Litmus is great about constantly updating the tool and keeping on top of new features.
Keeping templates and tracking organized is a constant effort. I wish there was a built in process to force you to organize better.
Email rendering, tracking, faster template development. I'm able to code and test seamlessly, which has provided enormous time savings.
I like that it has every type of ESP available to send render tests to before sending to the consumer. This is huge with so many different ESPs out there it is imperative to test on all of them and be able to trouble shoot and make sure the message that is sent is exactly how you want it to look on all platforms.
I wish there was a bigger community of debugging tricks in Litmus. There is a decent community but I feel like it could be bigger. Sometimes the builder option renders correctly but then the checklist option sometimes doesn't reflect it.
Rendering issues in Dark mode. Litmus has been very beneficial for our team as we can feel confident that when it passes the Litmus render check that the email will be sent to our customers exactly how it was designed to.
Litmus is extremely easy to use -and extremely important for anyone sending an email. They have a great platform for checking client rendering, suggesting best practices, as well as workflow help with Litmus Proof and deeper analytics insights with their tokening of campaigns. On top of that, they have a wonderful blog, host webinars, and have a conference as well.
They recently addressed the one pain point I had with being able to push a single email from code to all of the other tabs.
We are catching problems before they arise - allows us to mitigate the chance that something broken goes out. We've also been able to realize deeper insights from the analytics feature.
I feel like it's just the industry standard of what email should be. Along with really good emails their one of the few voices that preach the importance of email, especially accessibility. Beyond that their tool is really just solid in terms of testing different email clients, even their WYSIWYG editor is good.
We haven't really been able to utilize their tracking & analytics because of how our emails are built we're not really able to take advantage of it.
Email accessibility.
The newsletter of industry updates I find to be a very quick and easy tool for relevant items in the email world. The platform itself is very easy to use and powerful to ensure you're getting the most out of your email performance
There are some features left to be desired within email list management.
inbox rendering for the most part. We've caught small, but potentially impactful, issues within our email code base via Litmus.
The best thing about litmus is the fact that they display rendering of how our email will look on every email client that is important to us. There have been other services I have used that do not have all email clients on them.
There is nothing I dislike about litmus. They have a great platform. The only criticism, and s subjective one, is that it is a pricey service for small businesses.
We have solved the issue of sending out emails that do not look how we intended them to on different email clients, or worse yet, are broken.
