It is very simple and intuitive to use. and, if you have any questions, support is quick and very helpful.
Some detailed integrations to Xero are not easy to do, such as, splitting an employee's pay, taxes, and worker's comp codes to different GL codes.
They take care of ALL taxes for me. I don't have to worry about them. OnPay will let me no if there are tax issues.
Ease of the software. Customer Support is always good.
Cannot think of any at this time. Have not had any major issues.
They make processing payroll very easy. The other company I had charged such an outrageous price. They are very affordable for a small business.
OnPay is an excellent partner for payroll. The platform is easy to use and the customer service is excellent. In particular, they are so helpful with onboarding new clients, even when transitioning with payroll history from other sources.
I haven't had negative experiences with using OnPay.
Our clients (and my own company) need to pay people in a way that is easy. OnPay takes care of taxes, filing, W2s, etc. Any time we get a notice from a government agency, we share it with OnPay and they look into it for us to help solve it. It's also very easy to handle 401k deductions/contributions, health insurance, and other aspects of payroll
First off, I love the customer service. Any and all questions I have had were answered quickly and with care. I feel like they actually care if I know what I'm doing. Quickbooks payroll cost more and was less user friendly and the support left you with more questions than answers. The ability to integrate with Quickbooks is really nice. The people at OnPay were able to take all the information from Quickbooks and copy it over. That saved me a ton of time. Plus when I needed more pay items the people at OnPay gave me what I needed and then some. Once again, great customer service. Onpay itself is super easy to use and really intuitive. The layout and colors are just right. As the bookkeeper, I will be using Onpay all the time for payroll. I love the way everyone can add photos to their profile. I work mostly from home so I don't know everyone. OnPay gives me a way to make a name with a face. For the staff, OnPay has a great setup. They are able to see all their information in one spot.
I wish there was a way to get back to home or to the dashboard once I click on My Roles. I end up using the back bottom on the web browser. I wish that banking information could have been transferred. It has been difficult to get the staff to enter in their information. I wish there was a direct way to send out another invitation with a link for an employee to get into their account. It seems like everyone misses the first email and the second email doesn't contain a link.
Quickbooks payroll was too expensive. We are a non-profit and money is tight. We were struggling with employees only working a couple of hours during a pay period and having to pay $10 to Quickbooks for each of them. OnPay is cheaper and so much more user friendly with people ready to answer any question I may have.
We have used OnPay for about 3 months now, and they were extremely helpful during the set-up process. It is very easy to use, and when I have questions, the support staff does a phenomenal job in getting the issue(s) resolved fast and professionally. Great application for a start-up company and more mature organizations!
If you do not have the site earmarked, it can be cumbersome to access, but no others were observed.
Running payroll and processing deductions.
Couldn't believe how easy the sign on process was. Five months prior we had changed to another service and getting started was a nightmare. When we switched to OnPay they answered every question we had and then they totally handled the conversion. All we were left to do was enter the direct deposit account numbers. Payroll processed seamlessly.
No dislikes at this point. Very satisfied.
Federal and state filing requirements
I am delighted at the care and grace extended by the OnPay team toward our church staff. We are not experts in payroll and are very happy with our customer service experience, knowing that OnPay will do what's needed to make us successful!
There is nothing I can think of that would make me criticize OnPay.
The team repaired problems that they did not create. Every mishap we encountered was of our own doing and the OnPay team handled the errors graciously.
i am a very busy person but with Onpay making the payroll is super fast and easy! And if you have questions , customer reps are awesome! It is one of the cheapest software too.
nothing dislike me of this software,Pretty good software.
I am a very busy person and with Onpay I save a lot of time doing the payroll. And save money because i don't need to hire somebody else to do the job. The business performance increase do to a better productivity, and zero compliance mistakes
We decided to leave Gusto after several errors and because they were doubling our montly fee. On Pay has a very favorable and straight-forward pricing system, they have excellent customer service and the transition from Gusto was extremely easy.
When I run payroll, my reimbursements are included in the gross pay number. It is NOT actually included in gross pay. It is taxed correctly (meaning it is not taxed at all) and shows up accurately on the payroll reports, just not on the quick totals after I run payroll.
I have six employees and two contractors. The difficulty is that I have employees in multiple states. OnPay does not charge me extra for running multiple states, and only charges me for contractors and employees if they are paid during that month.
The software is intuitive. You are not having to think about how They think about things you're able to think about what makes common sense and figure it out yourself. If you can't, the customer service is amazing and will quickly figure it out and explain to you how to do it. It has been flawless.
Where are used to dread payroll because it always took me such a long time I never finish in about 15 minutes and have no issues. If I do, I can either figure it out myself or call client service, and they will help me figure it out. again it is flawless.
In my previous two payroll companies I had nothing but problems. Employees couldn't access their profile. information was wrong. When we transitioned, they forgot to send some information so I had to manually transmit it. If it was a problem, I was told that's not how "we think" and I had to go through long processes to get things fixed, all of that has disappeared. There were times I couldn't get anyone on customer service. I STAYED WITH BOTH MY BIG COMPANIES FOR LESS THAN SIX MONTHS BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS SO ATROCIOUS.
This app is like an inexpensive HRIS! It has made my life extremely easy. It integrates with QuickBooks, and my timekeeping app Deputy. I can't recommend this enough!
The only thing I wish it had was a little easier way to have monthly commission check runs. it still works for that, just want it easier.
Saving lot's of time!
OnPay automatically creates Journal Entries in QuickBooks once you initially set up the assignments. When you import your bank records associated with OnPay into QuickBooks, they are automatically matched and you can just hit the "Match" button.
Currently, I don't see any drawbacks to using OnPay.
We don't have a large administrative staff so having OnPay take care of our tax payments and reporting is a huge benefit.
Onboarding our new employee was made very simple. Our specialist was very helpful and patient with me for our first payroll run. Pricing was easy and fair. They made a daunting task simple.
I didn't have any issues that weren't addressed with ease.
It helps me stay compliant with payroll taxes.
Ease of use and clarity with all the reports as well as on the fly. It allows us to run a preview of the payroll to double check and try different numbers.
Still exploring. Nothing disliking found yet.
Transparency
Easy to onboard, run payroll and speak to a knowledgeable customer service person
I haven't found anything I dislike yet - still exploring - but so far so good
running payroll for a growing team
I can trust the system. It is a huge time saver.
I don't have any. The system functions properly and if there are any issues, the support team promptly answers.
Saving time by streamlining the internal process.
Once the employee details are in the system, it's so easy to run payroll, and all the Federal and State taxes and end of year tax docs are all taken care of.
From the day I enter payroll, it takes about 5 business days to get the payments into the employee accounts, which feels long to me.
Easy, accurate, cost efficient processing of payroll and handling all payroll taxes. Saves me time and money versus doing it myself or asking my CPA/accountant to do it.
The on-boarding was smooth, and OnPay's tax filing was simple to set up too.
No quarterly payroll schedule was available, so this type of secondary payroll can't be scheduled ahead.
Quickbooks Payroll had become unaffordable. OnPay offers tax filing, and affordable and flexible direct deposit for staff; it's a user-friendly product with features we did not have with Quickbooks Payroll...but at a lower cost. We also took advantage of the "free first month" offer.
Excellent customer service - efficient, knowledgeable, and timely. The reports are easy to read. The application is easy to use.
No downsides. The only thing I would "recommend" is to work on the design of the "check payment vouchers". Graphically they are poorly designed. This is an advertising tool. Personally, I don't use it. I have to modify the payroll register to look like a pay voucher.
Primarily, payroll tax filing.
OnPay has excellent customer service, which helps to make this company the most accessible payroll service provider to work with.
Once a special payroll run is scheduled, you are unable to remove it going forward.
They always ensure I understand what is happening when I ask a question.
Set up is easy to navigate. Support team is responsive and helpful.
Year end forms must be printed individually. It would be nice to have one click for all federal forms and another for all state forms.
They collect payroll taxes each pay period and automatically send payment on behalf of users when due.
I especially like that Onpay takes care of the uploading of prior data. That can be very messy when clients try to do it. Customer service is always very helpful as well. The program itself is very easy to use and accurate. Also I love that it files the taxes and forms automatically. This software is perfect for one to 20-ish employees, which is my target market. I also love that the pricing is very straightforward. No "hidden costs" that crop up later!! That is such a huge relief from prior systems I have used.
I really would like the ability to put a couple of clients on "autopay" that get the same amount each period. I would really like the main dashboard improved as well. It is not easy to tell who has not run payroll yet. It would be much easier to have everyone on one screen and then a column that shows "current week processed" with a check mark or something similar.
I needed an easy-to-use, low cost payroll option for my small employers. I like that they can process everything on their own instead of my having to take the time.
The best part of OnPay is the onboarding experience. When starting a new company file they will import the pay history for the year for each employee, saving you hours of manual importing. Their support team is also incredible at helping resolve any issues that pop up with tax filings, reports, etc.
A bit pricier than most other payroll softwares, but it has been well worth it for our business.
They handle all tax notices that our clients receive. Normally with other payroll software, there was a lot of hunting for information that I would have to do, but with OnPay I can just send them the file and they look into it for me. This saves me a lot of time and frustration.
I love how easy OnPay is to set up and run payroll. It's straightforward to use and find what you need. Their customer service is exceptional.
There's nothing I don't like about OnPay.
OnPay has allowed me to offer a good, quality solution to my clients' payroll needs. They have a dedicated portal for employees and contractors, eliminating having to go through me to get the answers they need.
The support is much better than other providers I've used in the past.
They don't have automatic payroll yet, but that is coming soon.
They make it super easy to run payroll. If Ihave an issue with tax payments they handle it right away.
All the work involved in running payroll and reporting to the state is done for a reasonable price, dependably, and without a lot of confusion or extra forms. Equally as helpful are the reports I can get any time I need to, for any info I need to have. These are simple to create and easy to understand. I love OnPay.
The only time I have a problem with OnPay is when I create one for myself by getting busy and forgetting (in spite of the helpful email reminder) to do the pay run on the right day. I finally added it to my calendar which mostly solved the problem.
Payroll was always time consuming, expensive, and carried the liability of making a mistake and getting nasty letters from the state. Using OnPay, it takes almost no time, the cost is reasonable, and OnPay deals with the state. I love it. For a small business person who wears a lot of different hats, taking this onerous piece off the table is a real gain.
OnPay is an effective, easy to use payroll suite. The web interface is straight forward and simple to navigate. The minimal HR things I do are so easy on the platform.
There are features I haven't even explored yet but that's not OnPay's fault!
We use it for all payroll processing. It is less expensive than other options out there and OnPay covers all of the payroll tax submittals, we don't have to do anything other than enter hours!
OnPay is easy to use. Customer Service is great, there are so many ways to reach them. It is also super affordable.
I don't really have downsides to OnPay. The only thing I can think of is it is taking a while to resolve and issue with one of the states we do payroll in but that isn't OnPay's fault.
Unlike other payroll providers we have used, OnPay allows all day to process and is extremely easy to fix if a mistake is made.
The assistance, when needed is immediate. But it's so easy to use, you forget how quickly they can resolve an issue.
Nothing - yet! There hasn't been anything that we need that isn't provided.
The pricing is the most obvious benefit. When we switched over - there were PPP and ERC difficulties from our previous service. OnPay was persistent and dedicated to working out our issues with the IRS. They really did all the work for us.
Ease of website and fast to run payroll. Customer service is great
Not much to dislike about it. I would like the system to remember the payroll from the week before
Tax deduction
