My team has been using OpenPhone for several months and love that we can call and text from our phones and computers. Managing business contacts for our startup has been really easy with OpenPhone. Highly recommend!
No issues - Customer service has been great!
OpenPhone has allowed my sales team to manage their business calls on their own mobile device. They can call & text from their device and from their computers. It’s awesome!
I like the ease of set-up, the simple user interface and the price compared to competitors with less capabilities.
The downside is you have to pay an extra fee of $60/year for each additonal phone number.
I needed two lines for each side of my business and voicemail capabilities to take calls and recieve information without me picking up the phone.
Research was easy, phone calls with questions were answered quickly and efficiently. Still working to get all our numbers ported but so far the process has gone well.
No issues at this time but just starting.
All our staff are mobile and desk phones were no longer useful
It is very user friendly and easy to learn and build out a work phone system.
I wish there was a way to automatically notify people you were calling out to that the phone conversation was being recorded for note taking purposes.
Allows for an integrated work phone system
I like that it has an app. I can make changes and even check messages on it. It has been very helful for our company.
Sometimes the service on a call lags a bit.
We can have company phone numbers without having to sign year contracts.
1. Price - really quite reasonable, given the features and functionality. Even with the additional campaign registry fees, most features are available in the cheapest package at $18.50/mo. 2. Features - Love the snippets feature, text after voicemail is left, conversation organization, etc. 3. Functionality - I have had a few bugs where I was not notified of incoming texts, but those were easily resolved by uninstalling and re-installing the app. I tried 2 other 2nd phone programs before OpenPhone and they were basically unusable / did not perform well; OP is by far superior to those other programs. 4. Customer Support - they are prompt and have addressed any issue 5. UI - very intuitive user interface
I have had a few bugs where I was not notified of incoming texts, but those were easily resolved by uninstalling and re-installing the app
1. At the most basic level, I wanted a 2nd phone number (with a 2nd voicemail) for my business. OP accomplishes this - which seems basic but I literally could not get 2 other apps to work properly (they would often default to my personal VM, for example) 2. With it's many features, OP's main value to me is allowing easy tracking and follow-up when a customer reaches out. My automated text replies make sure they know they have reached the right #, sets expectations for follow-up, etc. It beats the heck out of trying to do business through standard voicemail or SMS apps.
Open Phone has many features that were useful to our company. First, the IT admin can monitor usage of all of the companies Open Phone numbers to make sure that everyone is using them within company guidlines. Second, The ability to tag different conversations for followup, and high importance was very useful for our customer service team. The legal team also found the OpenPhone Customer Support option to export an archive of the entire teams' conversation history helpful when warranty questions came up. The office staff are able to use the web app via their computers, while the feild team can use the phone app. Overall a very good program.
There were only a few issues that came up in our usage of OpenPhone. The main issue we ran into was that our technicians were in areas with poor data connections. They could receive standard SMS messages, but not voice calls. That seemed to be a problem from the cell phone provider more than Open Phone. The other issue is that Copying short sections from a conversation can be tricky. We usually screenshot the conversation, but it would be nice to be able highlight the whole section and just copy it.
Lets us use local numbers in the deployement area, and allows Monitoring of all company phone usage.
OpenPhone is a cost effective way to have a business number for your company. It comes with a variety of uses to coordinate with staff. Integration is easy, simply upload the app. Once the app is uploaded, you can receive calls via your current cell phone. Customer support is great. I have always contacted them outside regular business hours and received prompt replies.
The downside of using open phone is that it is a virtual phone number. Virtual numbers are not effective for account 2-step verifications that are intended to work with mobile phones.
Open phone has allowed our business to have a local and (800) number business lines
Having a US number when doing business or selling your products/services to the US market, is extremely beneficial, especially if you're not based in the states. They make it super easy to create an account, and with their desktop and mobile apps, you can make and receive calls from anywhere.
The biggest downside at the moment (no fault of OpenPhone) is you have to register with US carriers to send outbound text. This comes with additional fees, but I do understand the necessitiy to stop spammers.
It enables my business to be able to make and receive calls to/from USA, without paying international call rates. I helps manage calls, and track conversations with potential clients.
High-quality calls. Feature-rich especially for teams with multiple users.
User-interface could be improved as well as support. It seems to me that security/user verification is prioritised over ease of use.
Ability to have a working number without needing a physical connection. Allows me to run my business from anywhere and build a team globally.
Transcribed reviews. Ease of adding users
Too expensive. Would be nice to add multiple callers on basic price
Multiple people answering same name
Its hard to say anything at OpenPhone is better than the service. They have been great. But they are constantly adding features and functionality.
They do not have a interal group chats. You can chat with a single team member. But it would be nice to internally chat to the whole team.
We are all remote workers. It allows us to work like a seamless team that can support each other.
Unlike our previous provider (Grasshopper) which was subject to a 1-2 second delay that they wouldnt explain, OpenPhone has excellent latency and a much, much better app than competitors. It also helps that the pricing is much better, too! We had zero issues porting our toll-free number and the voicemail system is very easy to use.
App is great but needs a bit of improvement - for example, quicker ways to get to my phone tree settings rather than through sub menus under my own profile.
I can make/receive business calls from anywhere in the world via wifi or cellular data, which is extremely handy. Competitor apps were not as good.
OpenPhone makes it easier to keep track of all SMS communications. Calling feature is a huge plus!
I haven't gotten around to using the mobile app yet, but using the web app sometimes doesn't notify right.
Reaching out to clients/customers have never been easier.
It was easy to port to OpenPhone and it user friendly
My phone was down for a couple of days, but the communication while they looked to resolve the issue was amazing.
Tracking business communication with clients
Had some issues with the iPhone app. The folks at OpenPhone worked south my throughout my issues. Found the resolution and helped me resolve quicklyz thanks OpenPhone
So far I have no negitive remarks about the OpenPhone app.
Call dropping after 2 rings
I enjoyed the user experience as well s the user interface. Whenever we had an issue which was rare, the customer service was there for support.
If you have multiple users it might get confusing who answers, and who is currently using the app, etc.
Having a number for our customers in the US
Reasonable cost especially for additional lines.
That seemingly lack of any desk phone support
Low cost VOIP option along with call tracking features
Open Phone is to have a convenient way to have a business phone line without carrying two phones.
Sometimes, group messages are not in order but messages to one person are generally received and on time.
I find it easy to have an app on my personal phone rather than carry two phones.
Very cheap, easy to set up and easy to use, it is the ideal app for a small business
The only downside is that you can not hop on the same call while another user is calling customers, it would be very useful in order to give live instructions
Great to get a toll-free US number as a foreigner
