QB is a reliable and easy to use package. There are some obvious shortfalls in the software, but it performs adequately for us and ultimately is a terrific value.

The security model could be updated with more granularity and the audit trail is less than ideal for our use.

Tranfer of data from current version to updated version is difficult. It causes difficulty in backing up the data. It needs to restore easily on the updated version.

I enjoy the classic functionality of the software. Creating copies of journal entries during month end helps save a lot of time. The ability to click through the GL journal entries within the P&L and Balance sheet reports is extremely helpful.

As our company is expanding and we have multiple users online, I can see that we are reaching our capacity in QuickBooks. I struggle with editing an important entry or doing a bank rec and then QuickBooks will shut down and I lose my progress.

However, the most appreciable quality of QuickBooks is that, unlike other ERPs, it is very easy to implement. Maintaining QuickBooks is easy and doesn't require a dedicated support team. One best thing about QuickBooks Desktop Pro is that it is moderately priced, and its pricing plans suit startups and small-sized enterprises. To get such a robust accounting engine at that price point is impossible. Compared to its competitors, QuickBooks offer better accounting reports, product support, and system stability.

The one thing that QuickBooks finds challenging to handle is the high volume of master data. QuickBooks works perfectly with fewer suppliers, customers and transactional data. Cost is the biggest factor. The ability to utilize multiple company files without having to pay for additional installations is great. It is, of course, a powerful accounting tool and, with a talented bookkeeper, can account for any small/medium business.

Their subscription model is ridiculous and now a cash grab. I understand if you want to do it for online products but you're essentially taking desktop software without all the features and adding crippleware.

I am accounting for my non-profit organization. It is a great product and I have used the software (in many different versions) for over 18 years. I have also taught courses on QuickBooks as well.

It get's the job done in my opinion. It is not overly complicated to use and automate certain portions. We had the Pro Plus version and it did everything we needed it to.

With how basic it was, it didn't provide all analytical information we were hoping for.
