Zip recruiter is great when it works properly. It can save time with finding resume but I do have a lot of problems with it
It really bothers me that there is not a flip view to view resumes, it takes a lot of time to open the resume and then click back to search results for the next resume. Also I do not like that I can't paste my whole booleen search because at lot of the candidates that come up in my search are not retentive. I also don't like that I can't copy and paste the resume into Bullhorn but I have to download it first and save it. It just wastes more time.
At this time I feel like zip waste's more time than it actually helps but if they changed a few things it could be more useful
Customer service was friendly, professional and helpful! Sales agents were great! Our account manager was terrible.
We received 1/6 of the candidate pipeline we typically engage with on other platforms and the quality was no better. The cost per applicant on other platforms in similar markets is $13-$38 and on ZipRecruiter we paid $67.57 per applicant. It was not worth the money for quantity or quality.
Hiring
Easy to use, clean interface, and it seems like a lot of people go there looking for a job.
Deceptive, sneaky, poor business practices. They get you to sign up for a trial and then hit your credit card for $500 plus another $100 or so, and then you are on for a monthly dues at that rate. And worse, I paid all that and got 0 good candidates.
We solved no problems, I used Workable and Indeed and got lots of results. Zip Recruiter ripped me off and didn't provide a single good candidate.
Not sure really. I dislike more things than like.
The conversion of clicks is so low for what that you pay, £99 for a listing is a robbery! They do not have claimed traffic and people seeking job which they do advertise, apparently they have huge base, 2 clicks for the whole time is a laugh. Don't waste your money on job posting here, free options do have more conversions.
Nothing for me unfortunatelly
Nothing. They are a horrible company that sucks you in with false advertising and deceptive business practices.
Candidates are horrible, don't respond, and don't show up for interviews.
Nothing. I will never do business with this company again. Stay away from them at all costs.
There was a decent volume of applicants and a few were qualified.
Their billing practices are shady and dishonest. They do not warn you about trial periods ending, they will not notify you upon your billing starting, and they are absolutely unwilling to rectify any billing errors no matter the financial impact on those that they have unwittingly charged. Their customer service is unfriendly, and has been trained to reply with canned responses of the ToS, and are mostly combative.
Filling my recruiting pipeline. There was an occasional well qualified candidate.
When Ziprecruiter first came out, I had great results, lots of views, lots of applicants.
Well, the last job posting I put on Ziprecruiter got 6 views and 1 applicant that wasn't remotely qualified. A complete waste of money. At the same time, I listed my job for free on LinkedIn and received many relevant candidates, so while competition for applicants is fierce, I don't think there is a problem with my job posting.
Well, since they're not doing the one thing they are supposed to be doing - that is, showing my job listing to applicants - I'm not solving any problems with Ziprecruiter.
It is good for applying for new roles on the candidate side. I have used it for that previously.
Honestly, most of it. The search functionality in the resume database is TERRIBLE. I am a technical recruiter, and you can not even search with booleans. It is terrible. I have to use 1 keyword, and even then, it sucks. It seems their algorithms are messed up or inaccurate. They also almost doubled their price overnight. You also can not search by location effectively 100+ miles is so misleading. I do not suggest
well, we thought posting ads there and pulling candidates' resumes off there would be of benefit. but as of this month as a company, we will no longer use ZipRecruiter
I have been a customer for over 5 years it used to be a great value.
2019 GREAT! 2020 1/2 the results, but it was middle of the pandemic. 2021 1/4 to 1/10 the results of 2020. Absolute waste of money.
None now.
They welcomed me with a trial period, they were very kind while getting you in.
I have a small business and wanted to hire only one person. I tried ZipRecruiter. They welcomed me with a trial period, they were very kind while getting you in. I tried for a week, but the candidates do not fit much and I wanted to cancel my membership but my credit card was charged ($192.00). They do not warn me. I requested a refund but they did not listen, and they were not kind either. Be careful, and keep away!
I have tried hiring for my small business
Price structure, although it doesnt offer results
The website is slower then 90% of websites I have visited in the last 5 years. I cant believe a web based platform such as this has such slow webpage speeds. Its nearly unbearable. The "help" continues to contradict themselves. One rep will tell you the algorithm works one way and the other will tell you another. I dont believe the boost does anything at all. I have double boosted at times and had the exact results of no boost at all. Honestly, its a sham. I have both indeed and zip posting right now and the traffic and candidates are far superior on indeed than on Zip. Its a surprise they are still in business at this point and im blown away with how many "good" reviews they have
none
Absolutely nothing, I currently have nothing good to say about ZipRecruiter.
Incredibly high prices, Prices based on days displayed regardless if anyone sees it or not, No customer service, under qualified applicants, no views of posted job.
Worst company to ever post a job. Posted a good sales position, received 2 under qualified applicants and a total of 32 view with charges over $1500 because they switched us to a premium account with double checking. They did not reach out to us and tell us our ad was not performing at all and refused to refund us even though we didn't even receive one qualified applicant. Don' t even consider using ZipRecruiter.
I enjoyed having such a long time waiting on hold for the billing department because it gave me the opportunity to write this review.
These guys are completely sketchy. Avoid this service unless you like surprise fees and terrible customer service.
After using Zip Recruiter without any great success they put my account on a Hiring Pause, which charged $10 per month. I wasn't able to cancel this recurring charge online and so called into customer service. They weren't able to cancel the charge either and put me on a long hold for the billing department.
Nothing very bad website lies about everything
Everything is not good hates it on here
Have not
The recommendations and when I apply for a job it’s shows my resume has been viewed
No call back from company you applied too
None
They harass me with free trial offers in the mail, which is great.
Didn't find qualified candidates. Refused to refund me $50 for only showing 3 candidates without qualifications. Waste of money. Lousy customer service.
Was trying to find a new massage therapist to hire for my growing business. Will never use this company again.
The customer service was excellent. My rep helped me post the position and gave me a quick impromptu tutorial without making me go through a product demo.
When posting the position I was asked a few times to post the salary range. My company does not post our salary ranges online, its just our practice, but I was told over and over that I probably would not get good candidates unless I posted the salary range. It was a little discouraging.

98% of applicants are interntional and need sponsorship.

The ease of posting jobs is great, definitely gets to every single job board.
Your posting goes to every single job board; which in turn, doesn't give you the most qualified candidates. Most of the applicants, I sifted through and passed on without a screening.

Nothing they have been useless. No one hired using them
Their model is crap, they wont let you cancel it is a sham

Nothing, i posted multiple jobs everything from retail to administration positions and not one response.
Everything i posted multiple jobs everything from retail to administration positions and not one response.
I have not used this system since the free trial and won't ever use it again.
The platform was clean and easy to use.
I have used many recruiting tools and this was by far the worst at giving me any results. I think I maybe got two page views for the ad I posted.
