business solutions and complications of hosting is solved
The customer support of HostGator is comparatively the best out there. Three-year sign up promos is an effective way to save money on web hosting.
Server performance is not always the best.
Going online without many hassles.
What has been most helpful for me using Hostgator is the ability to easily access customer service even though the quality of that service has wavered within the last few years, as it has with many companies.
What I dislike is that what I liked the most about the company seems to be changing. The customer service has always been easily accessible, and it is still via chat; however, the ability to get problems resolved quickly has changed. I now have to talk to several agents before an issue is resolved.
I have been able to keep some of my corporate websites up and running without the help of a web administrator. I have a web administrator for other sites, but I can personally manage a few without a significant amount of technical knowledge with the help of customer service.
Budget friendly (especially during their promotion periods when you they offer up to 80% discounts) Timely customer support Beginner friendly with one click installs available.
I've been a client with Hostgator for many years but last year I decided to switch because when it comes to helping you scale your hosting environment, I believe they don't have the needed customer support. Having said that, I still believe they are a good option for a hosting package for beginners or Wordpress users.
When it comes to setting up Wordpress websites in a very quick and easy way, and also budget friendly, Hostgator has helped a lot with a one click install of Wordpress.
It is low cost and easy to set up. The price was the main reason for choosing host gator.
Support wasn’t the best. If we had an issue, it wasn’t easily or quickly answered.
It helped us host our blogging website so our site could function.
They have linux and windows servers, and shared and reseller plans, their support is very helpful.
Their prices is not always affordable, sometimes you have to pay to get a small favor from the support to do for your service!
Hosting my first website, and getting a social advertising bundle to success my business.
Apparently anyone can use it. I am not at all tech savvy so have hired someone to teach me this week.
I chatted with someone for the migration of my old site and it was a waste of time. After almost an hour the person asked me a question which he should have known had he listened to my original question. Granted it was 5 am in Europe, perhaps they have beginners working at that time. I hadn't tried to chat with anyone since.
I can now change the content on my website when I want and the hosting cost was less expensive than my previous host.
Affordable, feature-rich hosting solutions for small businesses.
Excels in the traditional shared host space, but lagging when compared to the new managed/static hosting services that are coming up.
Web hosting.
What really stands out about HostGator is their support. The cPanel and other features are pretty standard but any time I had a question, their customer service team was more than helpful and took care of almost everything.
They try to upsell you a ton and their help section is a total mess. I wish they'd organize it more clearly, but I think it's left a mess so you feel obliged to pay for a service that you could do yourself.

Its cheap, reliable and has a good selection of features for the price points they offer.
Shared hosting does have its drawbacks, sometimes its quite slow but most of the time its file

I like the Shared Hosting, Web Design, Wordpress Hosting features. The free domain for a year is very enticing. This will allow integration to be easier.
So far, there is nothing that I do not like about it.
I have been looking for a software that will allow the various hosting services provided here with VPS.
Hostgator is a sound system if you want to integrate services such as wordpress, having the options built into the infrastructure, it also has services to easily setup emails for your site if you are running a business
For an average user, their low rate plans aren't enticing for users who only plan to have a static site. The cost of hosting doesn't make sense when the web has plenty of methods for static sites to be hosted effectively for free as long as you have bought a domain name to pair to your sites, such as through GitHub or Netlify. Speaking on pairing your domain to a site, this is a secondary complaint where unlike with google domains, you can't easily connect your site through the DNS settings.
I used Hostgator for the early years of my career to host my portfolio site as well as host WordPress sites for my customers during when I did freelance work due to the easy configuration, which I could then hand off to the client.
I used to have a shared hosting plan with them. You get what you get with almost every provider: cheap first term/expensive renewals, so-so speed and a free domain. Before my contract renewed, I switched to Ionos wich has a more transparent pricing… and you can have a better server for the same money.
They offer very attractive discounts for your first period, but their "real" prices are higher than average, so if you stick with them, you will lose money on the long run.
I didn't have a hosting for my website, so I needed one. It was decent, but after some research, I found better options.
I like that they could help host almost any type of website.
Sharing hosting servers are not cool. I know they offer dedicated servers, but those are expensive.
Website hosting for my previous employer. We ended up not using the product.
Super cheap web hosting packages and easy to set up.
Poor support response. Takes super long to hear back.
Low cost web hosting solution
Nothing, the prices are too much high compared to other hosting providers.
I bought a domain and hosting. After successful purchase the domain was still pending for two days, I contacted customer service, they said that due to some system error the domain was showing available but you cannot register. And they cancelled my order and I was asked to register another domain or find another registrar.
There are no specific benefits with HostGator. They are making big illustrations on their website to lure customers but their service is worst.
Absolutely Nothing. This review is to inform others of a huge refund scam being run by hostgator and other dubious practices going on. I will update you guys as to if i ever receive my refund. For avoidance of doubt to any hostagator rep that sees this, here is my transaction ID : 83D34A7E60FB11EBBDE1988ED57BBFB6 and hosting plan SH-4143452 (as provided by your support team). Sumary Of The Whole Issue: I bought a 3 year hosting plan, then canceled it for refund to the card used to purchase (per their policies) the next day due to deliberate technical challenges from their technicians, probably to get me to pay for their assistance. They agreed to refund, I waited two weeks for my refund, it never came, I contacted them they refused to reply after days, until i threatened to make this known to the world. After replying, knowing that PayPal has restrictions on my country, they requested to pay through paypal thinking i couldn't get one, i provided one from an unrestricted country which could receive funds. Their next message was that i would receive it in six weeks in addition to having waited 3 weeks already, making it 9 weeks. I knew this was scam delay tactics just like the earlier waiting time, in the end they will come with another excuse. I will be glad if anyone here knows how i can report this to an authority that is capable of sanctioning them. In short, if you don't reside in their jurisdiction (USA) were authorities can assist you if you report such scam, you wont receive your refund. This is a deliberate scam. Stay away from hostgator, Details below.
Hostgator Refund And Services Are Huge Deliberate Scam. Full Story: On 28th January 2021, I purchased a three year hosting plan based on the confidence given that there would be a 45 day refund if i didn't like the service. I migrated one of my websites to hostgator the same day. After the migration i realized my SSL was not working so i contacted support to show me where to install ssl on their dashboard as i couldn't find it. The support guy instead went into the .htaccess of the website without letting me know and did http - https redirection which broke the site instantly. He was unable to fix it and said support will email me and fix it (it never came), i definitely couldn't wait since this was an active website. I spent hours doing a re migration and fixed it overnight. The next day i realized while monitoring my real time page views traffic in google analytics, that majority of my visitors where landing on 404 pages (This is definitely not a dns propagation issue as DNS had fully propagated, and visitors wouldn't land on the website at all if it was DNS propagation issue). Surprisingly i couldn't replicate it since my visits to the links worked fine, i confirmed this by checking the page views in analytics and realized majority of the pages were really 404 pages. I reported to their support and their excuse is that it is an issue with google analytics, that was definitely ridiculous and i knew it was time to leave. The site was a backed up and migrated to hostgator with no change made to it, also it had always been on analytics and i always checked real time traffic without an issue. I contacted support to make sure if i would get a refund to the card, they confirmed and detailed how to go about it which i did, I received an email confirming i would receive the refund in two weeks, it never came. I contacted them they refused to reply after days, until i threatened to make this known to the world. After replying, knowing that paypal has restrictions on my country (ie does not support receiving funds to Ghana PayPal accounts) they requested to pay through PayPal thinking i couldn't get one, i provided one which could receive funds. Their next message was that i would receive it in six weeks in addition to having waited 3 weeks already, making it 9 weeks. I knew this was scam delay tactics just like the earlier waiting time, in the end they will come with another excuse. In short, if you don't reside in their jurisdiction (USA) were authorities can assist you if you report such scam, you wont receive your refund. This is a deliberate scam. Stay away from hostgator.
I will be glad if anyone here knows how i can report this to an authority that is capable of sanctioning them. For now i will make this known across all review platforms and social media platforms to warn others. This is a huge scam and it is deliberate, visit other websites and you will see them actively advertising through AdSense, encouraging you to just buy that they will give a refund if you don't like their service, they definitely earn more scamming people than advertising, that's the strategy. I will equally update you guys if i ever receive my refund.
Do not use the site and do not enter any of your personal information. Otherwise you will find out one year later, that their system kept your information and settled the payment method as an automatic and you will be charged for whatever package you were looking for. even though you thought you deleted your information there. Most importantly, they do not refund? Because they want so. Because they are desperate, hunting for every penny they can steal!
They are charging you after a year for service you were not aware you were using
I did not get any benefit from them. I tried to cancel my membership at the very first day
A bit faster than other hosting services but nothing uniquely great about them.
Tech support and their services. I can't believe that their billing system was down for 3 days and they couldn't solve it. Their teams must be all in various global locations with no real time 24X7 support which they claim they have. Just a G-Suite upgrade took us several tries over many support calls and chats. Their tech support don't even know the process of upgrading.
Domain and email hosting.
