Ease of implementation and design.
Slow performance with larger workflows
Using it for small in-house access Management for SOX systems
Simple to build business process flows in a visual manner. Users do not need to be IT team members.
Hard to troubleshoot when issues occur. Nintex, when used heavily, causes a drag on the servers.
Approval workflows and content routing. We have realized that the workflows help take manual errors out of the process and ensures proper approval steps are followed.
It was easy to work with and learn. Building seemed intuitive.
Was lacking some basic functionality and started having big performance issues on a more complex solution.
it may be easirie to use than Microsoft product equivalents.
Programming blocks are visual and can be explained to others in cases of turnover or multiple authors
Unfortunately not simple enough for the average user who is accustomed to handling everything via email. Permission configuration of items are difficult considering many IT departments restrict access to normal users
Any type of decision which requires many approved can now be tracked. In our case, the many handoffs required to ensure all payment information is provided in order for our company to issue payments from various banks in various legal entities.
Most of all, how nowadays it's polished and works great of the box (it wasn't always like that, but now it is).
K2 strategy of gauging prices in the last few years, it drove many customers away and made it hard to sell
process automation scenarios
Promapp has been a great tool for setting up processes quite seamlessly and is easy to use, transferring user access levels is a great feature and adding users is simple to do.
The cost, it is expensive as in comparison with other cloud based packages offering similar types of services in the field of file management and constructing process charts.
Promapp helps people get up to speed with processes that they have not yet learnt which shortens training.
The ease of use for my internal customers.
The lack of security of Workflow Action parts. I have tried unsuccessfully to convey through support all the way up to the top the importance of securing the Action parts. It still remains a huge security hole, IMHO.
Nothing too complex - regular day to day workflows - like specialized approvals, sign-ups for internal events, etc.
ease of development, forms are ok, some of the actions when they work are good
the reliability, the support, the upgrade process
Nintex brings its own problems to any business process
How user friendly it is, and how easy it is to create workflows.
The Cost is to high in Office 365 and is based on usage and not price per year. We therefore are not considering nintex as an option. Would love to use it but since the pricing is so unclear it will not be approved within my company.
IT is quick to create workflows.
- Nintex pioneered the Citizen Development style of process app delivery, and that's their strength; - They invest in usability; - Nintex knows how to build a community, and they have hardcore and loyal fan base; - a good fit for small to medium companies;
- Nintex marketing is making quite a few bold statements about company leadership position. Analyst reports do not support such claims; - The product seems to be filling the gap of the SharePoint workflow plus some more. They seem to be pursuing Salesforce ecosystem as well; - Product inherited quite a few Sharepoint limitations; - Nintex doesn't address more complex process automation scenarios ; - It's easy to outgrow Nintex solutions as users appetite increases;
- compliance - checklists - notifications and email automation
The respond to client incident can be much faster. We take almost 3 weeks to resolve the case. We are please that its finally resolved by the great efforts from all NINTEX team
The service time of support team need to support our time zone instead of we need to wait for the local time of the support and no service during their holiday
That was a critical workflow on our business operation
It makes workflows and form creation easier for non-professsionals
The licensing and install can be quite a burden.
Non-technical users want the ability to create their own workflows. None yet, still pending implementation.
Simple method to extend basic SharePoint form formatting
My comments are related to development using Nintex: Development environment can be slow to work with (because it's all running in a web browser) compared to other languages/platforms. Styling the form controls can be challenging and slow, compared to just writing CSS on HTML. JavaScript editor in development environment is terrible (just a small text box, come on!). HTML editor for task emails can be infuriating, because it reformats HTML and sometimes even deletes formatting. Nintex and SharePoint workflow engines operate separately and it's up to the developer to manage timing of services, which is a nightmare, e.g. try working with check-in/check-out in a workflow. Regex helper, or common functions for collection operations would be great, because Nintex regex doesn't always appear to follow standards. During development, it would be nice to have a background process that automatically publishes as you make changes.
Project Management, Document Management, Electronic approvals. Nintex has made it possible for non-developers to developer very basic forms and workflows.
The ease of setting up workflows using the interface
the support. The site seems to push users from contacting them and just mainly using the FAQ page
Process management
It is strongly recommended to have a programming background to use this product.
Not being able to add notes/comments on an action.
Document approval.
I love the fact the tool has a intuitive GUI & filled with many tools and plugins - particularly the pre-setup social media plugins. For our use case, this was exactly what we were looking for.
It was difficult to determine how to utilize the plugins, particularly in how the fields integrate with Sharepoint. Once understood however, it was easy to understand the same use for other plugins.
Automating email notifications through social media notifications
I like that the product integrates with SharePoint. It seems most things can be accomplished using the tool; however, you may still need a developer to make the process changes needed.
The workflow tool is powerful, but requires partner-provided training. It is very difficult to learn on you own.
Approvals
Software makes sharepoint workflows easier to manage. Navigation is intuitive, and building and designing workflows is pretty easy.
Workflows sometimes fail for no reason whatsoever. It is a known issue, and apparently there is not much that can be done to correct it. Even if everything inside the workflow looks good, and all the variables are properly linked, and data feeds configured correctly, workflows just fail. You have to go in, end the workflow, and then re-run it. That usually fixes the issue. This adds to the maintenance aspect of using Nintex, and can be pretty annoying sometimes.
Easier to automate processes, easier to manage workflows.
K2 Cloud has a very clean user interace.
I do not like that the environment is web based.
Going paperless.
We use Promapp to outline step-by-step instructions for common tasks.
It is difficult to find instructions for processes that you cannot easily identify/ or know you are misusing in the first place
