Ability to distribute content management.
Can be complex to newbies to the platform.
Our main business problem was to put a platform in place that allowed ease of content updates, while allowing for scaling of sophistication of marketing activities through things like personalization and insights.
With no experience, I was able to grasp the basics of sitecore and use it in my daily work routine. Great for beginners but still extremely flexible.
Can be harsh to deal with, slow at times. Just like any other program, it sometimes has glitches and it is about figuring out the issue and tracing back.
I am creating websites for our employees. I like how a person can take a big vision and put it into reality with it. Not too big on problem solving on my end but I'm sure it has been for others who use sitecore in my company.
Our new (non production) site is coming along nicely and the environment is flexible!!
Few out of the box functions, most basic functionality needs development time.
Better styling capabilities and mobile friendly.
I enjoy how user friendly the content editor is. It allows users with little knowledge of css and html to edit pages without any problems.
It is challenging to make edits to the templates without involving developers, so if you don’t have in house developers it can be expensive to redesign the site.
The functionality within Sitecore is great. We are currently using tagging in order to sort our content within our knowledge center to make it easier for customers to find what they are searching for.
It really helps us to provide a customized and personalized experience for our website users across various channels and efficiently create and manage our digital web content for marketing purposes.
Faced difficult times while working on integrating and leveraging the Sitecore experience platform because it lacks detailed documentation on the web, this affects our learning curve and often degrades our interest to use it for the longer term.
I wanted some technology that can help to collect and store my website visitors' data in one centralized place, it creates personalized profiles that helped me to get insights about the browsing and other social media usages of my visitors that in turn benefit building our marketing campaigns, Its also proved useful to do real-time analysis of the performance of our campaigns.
Lots of built-in features like image re-sizer and various ways to handle common problems. Once you get used to the way templates, layouts, and content gets created, making new pages becomes quite fast and simple.
High learning curve and a high barrier to entry. It's tough to use this platform unless you are working with a large enough company that leverages the platform. There are many features that "go to waste" because it can be hard to implement everything with time constraints.
The ability to create templated pages and content fields, and the hand off to non-technical content creators in marketing who can manage it going forward.
I enjoyed the look and feel of the landing page and content creation. Once you understand the core of the content creation you can truly add or remove anything within the platform and understand things at a deeper level. So Intuitive and full of potential.
The learning curve was my only gripe. Users attempting to try it out were not going to learn it all immediately however once you passed that it was fine.
My goal was to test out new functions developed for the business team. I realized how robust the platform is. With a core knowledge of where some of the page tools belonged and some attention to detail, you can really troubleshoot anything.
It was great to see how many different possibilities one has and how deep the functionalities are developed. It really gives a good tool to enhance customer experience on the platform or website. The Learning hub with training sessions were really helpful to me to work myself into the platform.
I think that some times the editor is a bit unhandy, and you have to switch between different menu items. However, strict rules and the details are essential for big companies designing a website in different languages as well as for different countries. I think it is not a tool for beginners nor to learning by doing. In the Test-Environment it was loading slowly sometimes, which was a bit of a pitty when showing new development things to customers.
Marketing Automation, Content, Personalization. I was using it mainly to design Content Pages and edit Articles that are going to be published on the blog page of the website
It has an easy to use interface, component based which makes it easy to use. It has the potential to drive your business forward but you need to take the time to take advantage and explore technology such as personalisation, content tagging and personas.
There are quite a few similar ways to do the same thing, some basic functionality you would expect doesn't always work such as cancelling a personalisation experiment in a user friendly way. There is a lot behind the tech and it can be daunting where to start
Split testing has enabled us to gather data behind our hypothesis and really understand how users react to content on the site
Consistency with content management and reusable components.
Email Experience Manager. Very difficult to use and should be comparable to industry leaders.
we use personalization and successfully move people through our journey.
Intuitive and easy to use. I like the ability to easily train staff.
The amount of times to publish a page is too much.
Functionality is dependent on our agency which is limiting. We can easily author content.
When setup is complete and the site is finally functional
Trying to figure out licensing, certificates and certification requirement for access to support. As a manager, it is difficult to find the time to get certified, so I have to request a certified employee to submit the request for me.
Verifying that we have the proper setup to best utilize the experience.
Powerful features, good editing experience, easy to use.
Slow for developers and authors, complicated deployment with version 9.
The biggest issue is performance during development. We found authors have issues with the system speed even on powerful servers. Additionally, search while permissions are active on items does not work well.
The CMS is easy to manage content for our website. Multiple content managers can use it with
Our team has had a lot of bugs with Sitecore Experience Platform. Things often don't work as we expect them to. Personalization is difficult to understand.
Many people want to be able to enter content. We have been able to utilize the CMS to allow many content editors to enter content, then have it all be reviewed by an administrator. This helps to streamline the process for the marketing team.
I like the experience editor view which makes it for content editors.
There are too many basic features that should have been implemented years ago that are not done. For example, there should be a prescribed way of doing 404 errors that works correctly. It bugs me that these kind of things are not just done.
The main thing Sitecore helps is with large scale structured content.
Sitecore Experience Platform is extremely powerful but I feel like we have only touched the surface on its capabilities. Our company is hoping to utilize personalization. We have been with Sitecore for 4 years and have yet to personalize any content.
Upgrades have been painful for us. We completed an upgrade from 8.2 to 9.0 earlier this year. The project took about 9 months to complete. Also dislike the heavy reliance on IT for template design. We would like our marketeers to be self-sufficient.
Love the ability for the marketeer to control the workflow of a content item and get it pushed to production and sent out for translation fairly easily.
I like the confidence in the platform and the peace of mind it provides, particularly from a risk perspective.
I find that without regular development support it is difficult to create interesting and engaging webpages on par with something I'd see on less rigid cms platforms. Users often express disappointment at how inflexible the platform is in helping them achieve what they're looking to achieve.
We are driving a larger volume of qualified leads through our website than ever before which is great, the integration with Marketo is also a huge success in helping us to effectively sync this data into our other programs and report on success.
I like how user-friendly it is, especially for a novice content editor.
It's hard to customize components, based on creative concepts/design asks.
It has made building landing pages easier.
For enterprise, global, or large scale companies, SiteCore is an incredible tool. SiteCore promotes synergy between teams as you can have multisite domains managed in one place. Using the content tree, while it takes a bit of getting used to, makes management of complex websites easy for marketing users.
SiteCore's User Interface can increase is usability. You are too often navigated away from places or items you need when assembling pages.
We are solving the problem of displaying one Global brand across 11 different websites that cater to their own audiences. We have realized benefits in multi-stewarding.
I like that the platform is custom and flexible. I think the hierarchy and content tree is very beneficial, I like being able to edit content in both views.
I do not appreciate the fact that components seem very buggy.
Content Entry across multiple departments. Personalization, Xdb, EXM.
Allowing us to do over 100 individual market sites addressing individual market needs from one platform.
User interface could be improved but hope that comes in Horizon.
Local marketing of a global product.
protecting editors from the back end better experience
quite expensive to use but gives value. Quite hard to learn
easy to publish
Sitecore CMS is a great product. Our content editors love it
Creates a lot of boundaries for Developers
Monstly for content editing
The ability to manage our content easily, and consistently across the site. To ability to allow non-technical users a lot of control of the site, with an established UI/UX guidelines.
I don't have a lot of experience with sitecore yet so some of my disklikes are just more of me figuring things out still.
We manage our marketing site content in the marketing department.
There are lots of options to customize, make tailored and personalized digital experiences and connect with your customers in a variety of ways.
It is very complex, and requires a lot of custom development work. It can be frustrating when not everything is out-of-the-box.
Personalization, content management, CMS.
There are a lot of possibilities combined, I especially like the combination of analytics data and external data in Xconnect and using that for personalization.
Some times the process of combining the data can be pretty slow. A lot of fine tuning is needed.
Custom personalization rules based on analytics and external data
The ability to update quickly and the amount of features that they offer.
The manuel process that need to be done to utlize the tool to its fullest. There are a ton of tools in sitecore that we are not utlizing to the fullest.
The need for development for small changes
Managing translated content and distributing across multiple domains is extremely easy. Likewise having control over and visibility to website content projects is something Sitecore does much better than other platforms I've worked with.
The training offerings and support from Sitecore are in many cases non-existent. In others they are downright awful. I can't believe their leadership team thinks that's remotely acceptable. If you were to compare Sitecore to Salesforce in terms of training resources, there's no contest.
It's made it easier to translate and distribute content in multiple markets.
I like how it challenges me to be patience as I learn to develop my content editing skills.
It's more of complex tool for content editors, wish it would be simpler and user friendly.
Using the templates help to create ease when creating a new page.
Scaleability, customized, going into SaaS soon, forward-moving.
It is partly both our fault and the vendor, but we rushed to deployment too soon and didn't setup things such as analytics properly when we deployed.
Consolidating various aspects of our business into one area, so it makes it easier to trouble shoot and work with our vendors. The benefits if we plan this properly is to have everything with our websites funnel into one platform.
