Getting a site up and running is very easy. Pages are straightforward to build. There are many building blocks that provide what you would need for most sites.

Adding custom HTML or other code snippets does not work as well as in other CMS. Integration with HubSpot is poor.

I like how you can build a web in a simple way with your CMS but nevertheless it is very constant that a user builds a website

I like the price point of Wix. Their fees truly can't be beat.

Customer service is almost non-existent with them. Whenever we run into problems, they essentially defer you to a user-based forum that never has the answers that you are looking for.

It's allowing the business to have a website

Easy to use, anyone can set up their own website without any need for coding or any previous experience. There are lots of cool website template designs. Solid support as well.

Some of the editing features aren't super easy to use and the layout isn't as aesthetically pleasing as some other similar sites. Difficulty in switching templates. Not the best for e-commerce.

Creating a website for our company

When I originally started using Wix I liked the simple stylistic approach that the site builder had. Wix was good at producing clean, simple templates.

I was not impressed by the layout of the back end of things. Trying to set up a website wasn't the most user friendly at first. It took more time to try and learn the program than seemed worth it. I went on and looked at the site for a bit of a refresher and it seems like they have made a handful of changes to the admin interface and are possibly moving in the right direction.

I was using Wix to try and develop a website for my photography company. I wanted to use a site builder that would make setting up and launching my website easy and quick.

This platform was great for a quick display of information. The interface was easy enough to learn and use, and it's an affordable product. It's a top competitor in the domain hosting arena.

Wix just doesn't compare to Wordpress or Weebly. The options are outdated, and some features are just fluff. The site often crashes while trying to compose new templates and rearrange, and photo storage has been mediocre.

We used Wix to display photos, and while the display was fine, we didn't have great SEO options for tracking at the time.

Creating a website with less money

WIx's drag and drop interface is easy to use and makes customization a breeze.

Where to begin. Support is a nightmare. Very few 3rd party integrations without buying something additional. No multi-user options. Very limited URL forwarding options. Horrible if you're trying to migrate content from another site to Wix (in vice versa). Embedding content can be a huge headache and Wix puts all the blame on the 3rd party apps, not their own platform. They claim to optimize your site for mobile, but I've spent hours editing the mobile versions of our site because Wix does not translate our website to mobile very well. It's illegible.

We need a website to host content. Wix lets us do this and customize how the content is displayed.

Ease of use to design. what you see is what you get is a pretty cool feature of design. I was able to pull pics from my social media page and it was pretty easy and fun.

The way Wix interacts with Google in the past was a issue for me but it seems like those issues are being resolved.

They've come a long way in terms of front-end functionality and SEO value. I like how this functions much like a Photoshop document. The way the items can snap to each other, X and Y values are generated, and other things that are simply impressive. It makes it really easy for my non-technical coworkers to dive in and make their own changes without having to go through me.

I dislike that you can only have one person logged in at a time to edit. I understand why, but why does it have to be the entire website? Why can't a certain page be locked? Also, I don't like how when you load the website on the front-end, you get a bunch of jumbled code rather than the formatted HTML markup. Google says that it is still acceptable and doesn't hurt SEO but I have a hard time believing that.

We are able to democratize the content of the website to people who are only comfortable with a Word document. We've also been able to launch the website pretty quickly.

Lack of true customization. This is great for beginners, but some may grow out of the templates that are offered. For those people I recommend purchasing a robust wordpress theme from a developer that offers support and customization.

Different templates available. I have had a lot of people refer me to WIX and I've seen great websites. I want to get mine to their caliber, because theirs looks great.

A little confusing to operate. I began choosing a template and tried to put my own pictures, it ended up not looking like the original template. It was in general a little more confusing than I expected, and I am pretty savvy with technology.

Simple to use, and a great solution for clients that aren't ready for a fully customizable and controllable website. They can login.

In the end your website is still a Wix website. You are limited to what Wix allows, and you have to use what Wix Provides. Coming from a 100% custom website creation/creator background, I don't like to have limits set on what I or a client can do or not do with their "own" website.

Giving clients with lower budgets a training wheels solution for getting their first website up. It is also a good solution to provide to customers who have a very old website that isn't mobile friendly, etc and creating a cheaper "hands on" solution, for them to have a 2017 compatible website.

Wix makes building a website very easy, and now they offer HTML sites which are better for SEO than CMS/Flash sites. I liked that it was pretty much cut and paste, I could add whatever I wanted to the site wherever I wanted. As I got to know the product, I was able to find loopholes that would let me do things with CMS that the company customer service reps said weren't available. It just takes a strategically creative mind and you can pretty much accomplish everything but SEO. Domain names were a cinch to hook up.

SEO for the CMS sites is a beast. My clients wanted to come up on the first page of Google with a few key words, and that is always a difficult thing to make happen when you build a website, even if you do an HTML site. It's really a separate job in itself. With flash sites, I was able to get clients on the third page...but for the first page, it took a lot of fandangling, extra hours which cost the client much more than they wanted to pay since CMS sites are pretty cheap. I also didn't like that the customer service was virtually no help. I figured things out for myself that they said they weren't "offering" at this time. If I could use the tools they provided to do something, why couldn't it be offered already? I found that strange. It also would have been nice, as a site builder, to have a separate account for me to be able to go in and make changes to the account, and the site owners to have more simple account options for domain name changes, or just personal account info. It was gibberish for them..so maintenance got sticky. It was also impossible to have a site where readers could create accounts within the site - like abandoned carts or joining a club or organization or chatting back and forth. There were chat boxes but they sucked.

I was able to create nice looking websites for clients using the free tools wix offers and set them up to be able to continue managing the site. The benefit was a simple website for small businesses or individuals that got specific info across to specific audiences. It really helped a lot of people who were just getting started.

The amount of templates, the idea of freedom to create, stable platform.

It should be easier to create things from scratch. I like the idea of creative freedom, but I have used it and I see that there are many bugs. This makes me not like.

Wix is very easy to use, especially when starting from a clean sheet of paper. I was able to get a website up and running very quickly just by following their step-by-step guidance on their platform.

One of the main downsides to using the Wix platform is that you have to follow their suggestions to get the best results (easiest to do). The difficulty increases once you start to go off the recommended path. For instance, when using a custom domain or integrating an alternative payment provider, the main benefits of the platform are lost. If you want to create a custom website, the Wix platform is not the best choice. The most critical point that caused me to decide against Wix is that you cannot change hosting providers once you go with Wix. The hosting is integrated with their platform. With hosting being an integral part of Wix, you cannot move your website to another hosting provider. Wix is not the best choice for business websites with many functionalities, such as customer management, payment processing, custom email delivery, custom domains, and other complex design elements. Wix does have some essential capability built into it. Still, if you are selling more than a handful of products or have a rapidly changing inventory to manage, Wix becomes cumbersome to deal with instead of being beneficial.

Wix was an excellent choice to get a simple website up and running very quickly. I was able to add my content (text and images) and create the structure of the site very quickly. I was able to add pages and link them together and alter the fonts and styles to give a uniform appearance to the site across pages. I was delighted with how easy it is to use and how easy it is to get a simple website up and running with little effort. With a small amount of planning, I put together an excellent website that served the immediate purpose of introducing our company to people on the internet until we could design and build a better website on another platform.

Wix is a useful tool for people looking to build a blog or website without much experience of web design. It provides a range of designs, all of which are contemporary and are customisable to suit your colour scheme and desired aesthetic. Wix allows for reasonably efficient website building; using its wizard, you can easily design a simple website and be online within two hours.

Some features of Wix are quite clumsy. For example, using your own photographs or graphics as page backgrounds can be a little difficult, as images are often stretched out of their aspect ratio or clumsily tiled. Embedding Flash, videos, etc. can also be quite difficult, and rather glitchy when it comes to posting the page online. Wix also does not provide you the option of email alerts when people comment on your page.

As someone with very limited experience of web design, I have found Wix a useful tool to set up a basic and visually appealing website. Wix does not require you to be able to use any HTML coding at all, and the interface does allow you to fully preview what your website will look like before you post it online.

It is affordable and there are some benefits that could be really good for starting businesses, such as the Google Ads voucher for all new sign ups

The builder is so complicated and difficult to use. It is targetted as an application that is just like SquareSpace, but it is 1000x more complicated that SquareSpace

The previous website that our website was built on was sluggish and complicated. Wix is at least a faster website builder. It is also a good platform for web development and building sites for clients because handing over is simple.

Some of the themes are cool. Other than that the ease of use is not all there like their leading competitors.

However, having past computer programming, I didnt like how they limited you, or want you to pay for extras such as email accounts $5 each, extra space? oh dont even get me started. You want your own domain? Extra fee!

The business problems I was attempting to solve was moving from handcoded html/java websites to an easier content management solution for cost-price. However after moving to Wix, I realized it was not the domain or content management solution I was wanting. I quickly left after being told I had to pay extra fees for simple services that should've been provided with any decent domain handler.
