Wix Reviews: 4.3/5 — Solid Choice

I like that wix offers a blog option and e commerce for your site.

I don't find it to be intuitive or easy to navigate. The integrations with other platforms is lacking.It is not easy to send your blog out in a customized format.

Website hosting, e-commerce, blog hosting -- It is nice to have all in one platform.

NOTHING I absolutely hate WIX and have had the most Horrific Experience with this Platform - RUN RUN AWAY and go to WORDPRESS - THERE IS NOTHING HERE FOR YOU

No Customer Support - SITE SPEED like a TURTLE NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT Ask if I could improve Site speed with CDN - Cloudflare NOPE DID I mention NO customer support NOTHING I have stopped paying my monthly premium on this Website WIX has assigned it to a bundle _ which mean my other business is linked to this website ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT ZILCH - ways for me to remove and delete my site - I have removed my Domain and moved it to Bluehost RUN AWAY and find a platform like Wordpress , Weebly or Squarespace THIS IS A CON Platform

100 Problems and no benefits

This was a simple platform for those who don't know how to code to learn how to build their own webpages.

In my opinion it's not the most user friendly, and it's hard to make the layout look professional if you're not a web designer.

Great for beginners just starting out.

Easy to use for sure, but that ease comes at a cost.

Lack of SEO compatibility and more importantly only allows JS widgets as Iframes which is ghastly!

I am not, I am moving to wordpress.

I don't like anything best about this product - but they should probably be comended for their ability to refuse every refund request they have ever received (check out trust pilot reviews before purchasing this).

I had a very negative experience with Wix previously. They charged me an annual subscription for a site I no longer use. I tried to remove my billing details from their site a while ago but was unable to do so. (Their site is not user friendly). o in order to avoid being charged again I cancelled my previous card so they would not be able to take another payment. However, although I changed my card details to avoid being charged again, there was a small section in their T&Cs which stated that even if you changed your card details they can still take a recurring payment. When I emailed them to explain there had been a mistake and (as they could obviously see I don't even use the site and haven't for almost a year) did not mean to sign up for another year they refused to give me a refund. I understand that sometimes these things happen, but sites like Amazon can be pretty reasonable and offer refunds for these mistakes. To think that Wix obviously relies on sneakily taking subscriptions and refusing to refund them even though it's obvious the user isn't using the account, is quite telling of their ethos as a business. Also, the Customer Service experience was dreadful. I would not recommend this site to anyone as there are plenty of blogging sites out there who are more focused on your experience as a customer of theirs and less on wrongfully taking your money.

I like that Wix is a beginner--friendly, WYSIWYG web builder. It's literally drag and drop and they offer templates, so it's a very low-barrier entry for a novice who wants a personal website (i.e. a wedding website, baby shower website, etc.)

Wix is not good for any type of business or professional website. While its templates are easy to use, the websites it generates are not responsive, meaning you have no way to control how your layout looks on different screen sizes. The result is that your elements, text, images, etc. tend to end up misaligned on screens that are larger or smaller than the screen it was designed on. Mobile and tablet screens are even worse. While Wix does offer a mobile version to customize your mobile site, its abilities are really limited, and this method of website development is outdated and will have varying results on different mobile screen resolutions.

I initially gave Wix a try when I was experimenting with different web development methods for client work. I quickly realized that it's not a professional tool, and is better for non-web designers and developers to make hobby and personal sites.

I do appreciate the drag and drop feature and they numerous templates

Everything else. I suppose it's difficult because I came in after the website was already created and it had not been created using a template, so each page element, font, etc has to be adjusted and tweaked on each page individually.

Every company has to have a website these days and this is where ours is hosted.

I really don't like any part of Wix. If you want an e-commerce platform then Shopify would do it. If you have a business then spend five minutes learning WordPress or JOOMLA.

Wix has very poor analytics and tracking options, you can't accurately capture Conversion Tags via Google, support has been less than helpful and even if you just want a blog I'd avoid this platform.

Often people pay me to move their websites to a different platform, usually because they can't do what they need with Wix.

The only thing I like is the ease of uploading photos.

I dislike - the pickiness of the program, the inability to change anything, the poor options, and the overly generic designs. They also have no way of backing up your site, which is unacceptable, in my opinion.

We are able to easily send newsletters to distribution list.

I like the drag and drop template format.

If you're looking for more custom features or diverse templates, Wix is limited in that capability.

It is a good alternative for clients with a limited website budget.

Of course you could make a presentable and functioning website with Wix.

Wix markets that they are easy to use for anyone and they offer services that you can pay extra for to set up a lot of the site for you. This may help you with the foundation of the site, by it will likely look unprofessional and you may encounter difficulties customizing down the line. One of my clients was someone who paid extra to get a start up package on Wix...she ended up ditching this any hired me to make her a Wordpress site.

Well they got me a gig since they a poor platform to use and confused one of my clients. So I benefitted from it!

I guess WIX is easy to use. If you're looking for a simple template and a website that doesn't generate you any business then I guess this is fine.

Pretty much everything. Is it easy? Sure. But what value does it add? It's not well coded, no matter what they say it isn't well SEOed. It's not designed to bring customers to your door. Pretty much a waste of time and make you feel better that you "have a website"

I honestly don't see any value here. Maybe if you're looking to do a community event, school event, etc then this would be fine. For an actual business that is trying to bring increase their sales and have an online presence then this is not for them.

It's super simple, literally a child could create a makeshift website.

Everything. There is no ability to change the actual code, different elements on the page would shift and move out of place or just not function correctly. With not being able to code you only have access to basic SEO that isn't going to help you rank on Google if that's your goal. A lot of elements have very few choices, so you're stuck with what they have. The free elements that you're able to use typically have some copyright, branded logo on the bottom unless you purchase an account and remove the logo.

Wix Lets you build amazing websites with a very easy learning curve. You can use their great templates or start from scratch. There is also a very good media content available

I remember nothing I dislike on wix to be honest

It is easy to use. It has two different ways to access the back door of the website. There's the more in-depth site that lets you edit small details like text color and then there is a simple side that lets you quickly update content and images.

Pretty much everything. The templates are not as user friendly as they make it out to be. Unless you have a good eye for design, this doesnt work well for most people. The monthly fee overtime is more expensive than having professionals build out the site for you.

Although its marketed as simple, it cam across very unstable. Could not get images to lock in place. Everything you add is an extra monthly fee. No plug ins work with this software. Its not an ideal long term solution.

Getting members of the community to opt in to email list

It was pretty easy to get started. Sign-up was quick and simple.

The customisation options for your site are very limited (if you wanted free options), and the (domain).wix.com doesn't seem legitimate to potential customers.

It gets the job done if you need a website on the fly. I was in a pinch and needed a gallery site, and this was just enough to get me where I needed to be.

It's very easy to make and modify visually appealing designs.

It's hard to expand wix past a pretty page. Want SEO? Redo your site on another platform. Lead capture and automation? Rebuild your site. Really- Wix is ok for a solopreneur or very local shop that wants to have a website to claim they have a website if someone is specifically looking for them. If you want to aim higher, aim somewhere else.

Website design made easy. It was pretty. And we had to rebuild the websites in WordPress weeks later.

Wix's website building tools are pretty nice- getting mobile ready layouts and some beautiful basic designs are really cool.

Under no circumstances should you ever consider using Wix for ecommerce or if you care at all about privacy due to the fact that you can't install SSL certificates- basically you're allowing others to snoop your browsing activity by not allowing for encryption.

We needed a website quickly for my coffee shop and it's doing the trick there, but we can't use any of the ecommerce features due to the lack of SSL. We'll likely be migrating away from WIX when our term is up.

The software is easy to use and maintain. you can easily create a new website within an hour or so using one of the software's templates. no installation required. one-click plugin install/embed. Pretty much unhackable with a great password.

How restrictive the software is. The recurring charges that come with the premium format. Just use wordpress for a website builder. templates seem old and not really up to date with current capabilities like wordpress.

Wix does let you create a simple website for your business quickly, in a user-friendly way. The interface is easy to understand and all the templates look great on the wix homepage. People with no design or web experience who know nothing about the simplest of HTML can successfully create a website.

Biggest gripe is the actual sites that are created. The templates may look great, but non tech-savvy users don't know to use high res images, don't have a beautiful monochrome logo, don't know what a vector is, etc. They also write terrible copy, don't have a goal in mind when creating their sites and just aimlessly make ugly, cookie-cutter sites with wix templates. Wix is making the internet a worse place, singlehandedly. The "pro" version, or whatever they call it, removes the Wix branding and adds Google analytics, something that people using Wix websites have no idea what to do with. It just makes things needlessly complicated for those upgraded, non tech savvy users. Everyone should just save themselves from creating a site that will most likely give a bad impression of your brand, fork over a couple of grand and get a real site done. Restaurants can get someone to make something awesome, useful, and helpful for hundreds of dollars. Why bother trying to haphazardly create one yourself with wix? Concentrate on what you're good at, running your business, and let web designers do their jobs.

Fast website creation. I've tried it, I've let other people try it, and the final product is just always negatively reflects on the business. The benefits were speed for us, and when I told others to use it it was to save myself the time of helping them. I regret both.

You can never leave them once you start. You can not export your site so you'll have to start from day 1 again Google hates them so you'll never get your site listed on Google EVER!!! And forget about adsense DO NOT USE WIX EVER!!! #1 - Google Hates WIX they use HTML5, which is flash and flash means you have no content #2 - I have 469 pages of content and at least 200 thousand words and what does Google Adsense say "You have been rejected because we could not find any content and only 11 words" #3 - My site is Wildlife Planet at http://www.wildlifeplanet.net. When I searched for Wildlife Planet NOT ONE page appeared on Google in the first 25 pages. #4 - I then searched for wildlifeplanet.net NOT ONE of my 469 pages appeared. Twitter account... yes Facebook... Yes even video, blogs, press releases with my website address came up, but not one of my WIX hosted 469 pages. #5 - It's so bad when I searched for wildlifeplanet.net this site that has ONE BANNER on it wildlife-planet.com came up #3 but not one of my 469 pages in the first 30 pages (about 300 individuals) of search results. #6 I wrote to WIX a dozen times about this and after I wrote to them EXACTLY what I wrote above here is their canned cut and paste response. "Your SEO looks great and you do have a lot of content. We guarantee you Google sees your site and maybe you should add more content. Google loves more content.
