The platform is mostly intuitive. There seems to be a straightforward and apparent workflow, with not a lot of bells and whistles. I use WooCommerce in a very limited way, so it's great for that function.

Right now we use a different POS to ring up the orders. So on the back end, it's not integrated. I'm not the decision maker for the expense of integrating and don't k of the scope of what would have to change with our business to do so, but that's me single greatest waste of time. It's my job, it's how I get hours, but it's not efficient at all.

We are ensuring swift customer service to customers 24/7. The main benefit is that phone orders, which can take up to 20 minutes of staff time, are no longer necessary. A customer can shop from home at 8:00 pm, and then they take 10 minutes to ring out rather than 30. It frees up sales associates to be with customers in the store rather than phoning people back to take orders.

WooCommerce really is easy to use, easy to setup and easy to run. It allows small business to sell online (almost) for free.

WooCommerce happens to be functionally poor quite quickly. It lacks native promotion engine for instance.

Extra functionality is available for yearly payments at the Woocommerce extensions store. I recommend spending the money you're saving on a fast business hosting service that includes an SSL certificate. The lowest tier shared hosting plan will cost you sales since site speed will most definitely be affected and customers will leave out of sheer frustration. SEO is also negatively impacted by slow websites.

It's hard to dislike something that is free and works really well out of the box. If I had to point out something, some of the extensions are a bit on the pricey side if you are on a budget and trying to open a store that deviates from the simple look for an item and buy it e-commerce model. The subscription extension is $199/year. Memberships extension is $149/year. To take online bookings, that is $249 a year. On top of hosting, domain, theme, and SSL certificate costs, you could easily be spending more than you thought it would costs to start a web-store.

Coming from Shopify, I was looking for a self-hosted solution because I was uncomfortable with having a third-party e-commerce provider having the "keys" to my store. Basically, I was afraid of having them shut down my store or shut down functionality at any moments notice. I already had problems with payments with Shopify so I decided to move to another solution. Getting set-up with Woocommerce on a self-hosted Wordpress site felt very natural. UI is very intuitive and the knowledge base and support are robust for even beginners to start their own e-commerce store. I'm glad to say I like the look of my new store compared to Shopify. The best part of Woocommerce is that they even provide a free compatible theme so you can get up and running in no time. It is a lot more customizable than Shopify if you are looking for that. More popular extensions that manage email marketing, shipping, and fulfillment are all available on Woocommerce extensions. Those extensions in combination with Wordpress plugins will make your store run like a professional business.

Firstly, it's free. AND—it's easily integrated into the WordPress platform and functions very well. We've had no problem with WooCommerce. My programmer had looked at other options, and choose this plugin due to experience he'd had working with other sites. It's user friendly, and administrator friendly. Also, I used WooCommerce both for direct sales as well as adding to PayPal sales.

WooCommerce does need a programmer to manage the tweaking. This isn't something most business owners would want to adjust on their own. But compared to other plugins, it's fairly straight forward if you had to go in and make a correction.

We needed two features: direct sales and aligning with PayPal. Woocommerce did both of these functions very well. In short—I was never in need of finding another plugin.

You can customize most of the things you want that wouldn't be allowed on set platforms like Shopify. For example, you can customize titles of payment gateways, create a whole different look and feel of the checkout process, and change the customer experience.

You will most likely need to enlist the help of a web developer. Also, when a customer abandons their cart, in the dashboard, it shows up as "pending" which can be very confusing. It seems like the payment is what is pending but really, it means that the transaction was incomplete.

More customizations on e-commerce business

It is free and not difficult to pick up. Someone with little programming experience can set up a decent looking web store.

Everything requires a plug in that costs money. Can only accept PayPal unless you buy authorize plugin.

I like that plugins are created regularly, allowing updates to be made. I also like that it is pretty user-friendly and works well with Wordpress sites, which we prefer.

I think it could be easier to combine with payment options, but would still recommend it for the most part. I think some updates visually would be helpful as well.

It's a great interface for eCommerce sites. It's pretty inexpensive and allows clients to generate income without a storefront.

I was taught how to use woo commerce through my web developer and found it pretty easy to use. Some parts are overly complicated and some dont work at all. I know that my web designer is not overly impressed with woo commerce but for myself its exactly what I need for my business and is easy enough for the what I need to do.

Being able to sell products online easily as well as adding shipping variants etc very easily. Being able to make variable products has made the shop a lot less messy.

It's very easy to install and have up and running on an existing WordPress website. With a little more effort you can create a bespoke theme to have your website looking unique. Builds on WordPress's existing logic.

I didn't find a lot of documentation online in regards to creating a custom theme. I had to use Lynda video tutorials website to inform myself on how to do that.

We teach an eCommerce module in our course for which we use WordPress and WooCommerce. Students get to theme a shopping cart with the potential to become live for very little costs.

It is open source and has large community for support. it is on Github.

The API can be improved, expand, and make it easier for developers to find the code they are looking for.

I sell small shops to my clients. They have a physical commerce and they want to have a online shop.

What we like best is that it is 100% customizable.

Definitely not for the faint at heart. We do not recommend this for eCom newbies.

It is a new platform for us. The Webpage Layout is very versatile. There are so many helpful plugins to get you going right out of the gate. The User interface is pretty intuitive. nice layout. It feels very in tune with newer apps and what i need as a user.

The basic reporting is pretty standard. Most everything is done via plug in. You can usually find a plugin for what you need but you'll have to install it. A lot of features are not upfront upon installation.

E commerce is a booming industry and being able to flip a switch and get going is what a lot of first timers need. Woocomerce helps. While you might not get everything initially, you will in all likelihood be able to find a plugin for what it is you need to facilitate beyond the regular installation.
