Considered one of the pioneering cloud-based project management tools, Asana offers four views for its users – List View, Timeline, Calendar, and Boards – all of which help teams get both a macro and micro view of all the moving parts of projects and tasks. It provides a comprehensive roadmap of ongoing projects from start to finish, clearly outlining dependencies, project milestones, and feedback and approval processes. For project managers, strong reporting capabilities that show completion rates, individual workloads, and potential delays just to name a few create opportunities for real-time project optimization, collaboration, stronger forecasting, and better planning for future similar projects.

The best thing for me was that you can use the boards if you want. or change to a list. The software is very easy and friendly. You can assign any task and put it in the calendar. Its pretty cool, because you can download the app and update your board.
I can´t think in just one thing that dislike me, but the team of Asana can upgrade the subtasks part. I mean, the thing is that you can`t assign subtasks to nobody, so you have to turn them in tasks, and that is not cool.
The benefits of this software are the boards, the capacity of assign tasks and that is free. With the free version, you can handle your agenda and your projects. But, the best tools the paid version have it, like the timeline that is perfect for manage projects with a big crew.
The customization is the absolute best! I also appreciate the ability to integrate with so many different things, like Instagantt.
The interface is not set up to bring on multiple clients to your teams.
We are now using Asana for a full team organization - tasks, resourcing, messaging, etc. We have realized the benefits of each person being able to organize their tasks in their own way.
That you can set different categories for to do items
The navigation of having to move an item to appear under a different category can be frustrating
It is great for following up on action items from meetings. Instead of things being left undone because there is uncertainty about who is responsible for what task, there is clarity and those items get done
The ability to have sub tasks assigned to other memebers with inidividual due dates.
Wish the templates were even more complex.
Onboarding and offboarding through templates, additionally communication between the team has improved..

Many web-based kanban/AGILE/swim-lane tools and project management tools in general are complex and difficult to learn. When I was presented the task of managaing a complex technical project with a team of 20+ manufacturing managers, team leads, and engineers, I knew I needed a simple tool that was visual, colorful, and inviting. After a lot of searching, I found Asana and I was very pleased. The click and drag UI with simple, clean, and colorful theme made it appealing to users and easy to train on. Even users with very little history with web-tools could go in and see what work was assigned to them and provide updates. This is a tool I will continue to use.
There are some features I am not a fan of. For instance, the fact that a task can have only one assignee. However, Asana has an active forum environment and has responded to others with this issue. Their perspective makes sense - at the end of the day, you want ONE person ho can answer for a deliverable. "When everyone owns it, no one owns it." However, this is difficult when trying to structure layered teams. Also, I was not a fan of the 3rd party integrations available and the lack of Gantt chart support. I ended up using Insta-Gantt.
- Team synergy - Work assignment tracking - WBS - Progress tracking Better communication, more task/responsibility awareness, simple, short, concise, and more frequent communication intervals through comments on tasks and sub-tasks.
The projects are well organized and ASANA is user friendly. We can easily access the projects added on asana and can easily upload and attach documents as well. Asana is like a one stop shop where everything is really accessible. You don't need to find other platforms as everyhting could be in asana.
There is nothing that I dislike in using ASANA. Since I start using asana, there is no downside of it that I have found. And I have no issues encountered. It has been really a great help. And it has been one foundations of our success with regards to the projects we worked on.
Asana has been used as our method of communication in taking over some projects with the clients. And it has been so easy for us because it is organized and easy to use. There are many benefits that I have experienced with asana. It has been a great help on managing projects, even though we have so many projects on going it has been easy because of the user friendly interface asana has.
I've been using Asana for over a year for both my business as a solopreneur and my personal tasks. I even use it with my interns. It's a terrific tool for project management, and everyone that I introduce it to can't believe it's free! I even heard a millionaire once mention that she and her small team use the free version. So, it works for a small startup like mine as well as some of the big guys. So easy to use and great options. I strongly prefer it over other tools like Trello and Basecamp.
I wish it would remember how I like my tasks sorted for my board. And I wish my interns boards looked exactly like mine. Not sure why they don't. Those aren't a big deal at all, just picky things that I noticed.
Project management for myself as well as managing interns. It's a super easy way to outline projects, tasks, and subtasks. And very easy to change due dates or details when needed. And I certainly love checking something off my list and seeing it disappear! :)
I have been using Asana when they were still new to the market. Asana makes project management as easy as one to three. The scheduling features and completion are so easy to use. You don't need to be tech savvy to use it in organizing your projects or business.
Asana is so perfect for me and I can't find a single flaw on it.
Asana helps you to track project completion, who's working on a certain tasks and what are the challenges to overcome to hit the deadline. Asana saves you time since you can manage all you projects and your team all in one place.
I love the master schedule which allows us to collaborate as a team on projects as well as see each other's individual projects we are working on with deadlines that are due at any point.
I dislike that it doesn't seem as user friendly as other Google apps I have used.
Collaborating on projects, remembering and meeting deadlines
I love the ability to create task lists for different projects and set clear due dates that are easy to keep track of.
I dislike that there is no option to set photo covers for tasks and that I cannot assign a task to more than one person.
Before Asana, delegating tasks to my team was a difficult mission and often times people would have to jot down projects and other things I ask them to do. Now, I can just create tasks and assign them to the necessary person and when they are complete, they just assign the task back to me and I can be notified and take a look. It is super beneficial that I can organize everything that needs to get done into separate project tabs and then create sub groups of smaller tasks that need to be done within that project. It is very convenient.
The ability to collaborate with colleges easily. I love the tag function. It allows to to keep al my projects grouped together while being able to separate them out based on skill and type. It also keeps side conversations related to each task within context and easy to reference later. I also love how customizable the project areas. Creating a layout that suits your work and makes the easiest flow for viewers
I dislike that you cannot assign a task to more than one person. Sometimes when people are only followers they don't always get notified of changes. I also think being able to rate a task on progress, showing half done, would be helpful and motivating. The mobile app could use some upgrading. It is not as user friendly or well laid out as the desktop version. And a superficial thing is to have the little celebratory animals more often. :)
I use it for my work for collaborative tasks as well as a way for the entire organization to be aware of what other team members are doing. I think it helps build team unity in the fact that we all see the work going into the organization. And it helps us delegate more efficiently
I like the functionality of the program. I will be utilizing it to help keep my small business organized between all three of our members, only in the future to allow us to grow.
I have barely utilized the program, it is still new to me
Organization - We currently use Outlook for the two members - but need to open it up to all of us
I use asana daily. I write down all the tasks I need to do and love how I can set it to be a reoccurring task so I never forget. I also love how others can join in for group projects and can assign tasks etc. I have many group assignments and it's wonderful how everything- all communication- can be in one spot. Nothing really falls through the cracks and makes it really simple.
There hasn’t been anything as of yet that I have not liked. I haven't had any issues arise or anything that would make getting my work done harder.
I’m solving the chance of forgetting to do the little things. There are a lot of little things that go into my job and a lot of small tasks- so Asana helps keep track of all of that. Also, I’m solving the issue of being able to collaborate with others who don’t work in the same office as you. Around sixty percent of my work is a collaboration with someone else who doe does not work in my office. So, Asana creates the atmosphere online like we do work together.
Ease of use for assigning tasks and sub-tasks.
Difficult to move items from one project to a different team's project. If you're on both teams I feel like you should be able to migrate an item (perhaps without the assignees as they may not be on the other team.
I've used it to manage meetings as well as to align the timing of long term annual and semi annual tasks. It also helped me track the roll out of training.
Tons of flexibility, beautiful interface, and overall a great solution for both task and project management
I'd like the search to be more sophisticated, but it's not that big of a deal.
Managing personal tasks, projects and team meetings. It's easy and fast to get your team onboard and get started immediately, but despite looking simple, it actually offers a lot of features that make it a great tool for tasks and projects. We even use it for managing some of our recurring meetings - As a kind of idea & discussion board. People suggest ideas to be discussed, all participants vote on which ideas to discuss in the next meeting, and during the meeting we summarise the discussion in the comments and leave next steps there. No topic gets lost!
The best part of this program is that you can easily see how much work there is to do, and what the progress of the group members are. It also allows you to see the assignments that you have completed.
It would be nice to have more graphs. For example to see the productivity of group members over time.
My work group uses Asana to have work assigned and to keep track of our group's progress on completing a project. It's especially helpful for remembering what work has been completed and when.
The Basic version is free, very easy to have multiple projects and users without confusion, sub tasks, comments, file upload.
No GANTT view of project, although there is a separate extension.
Managing the launch of new government websites and having clients log in to see progress rather than sending emails constantly.
This platform is fantastic for organizing in either a business or any team setting.
I wish the Asana app was a little more like the online desktop version.
This platform has greatly assisted with improving organization, scheduling tasks, etc.
Just the right level of complex features but simplicity
Nothing, the product is in a very sweet spot of complex features but ease of use. Don't add too much and over complicate it.
Manage a team and projects and managing a software dwevelopment project.
