Availability, ease of use and scalability
Its boundaries, like no user ability to create and manage scheduled email triggers.
We have successfully used caspio to create simple apps and forms. We have used it with our WordPress intranet to implement business processes and serve dynamic content to employees.
I like that the platform has a low barrier for entry in regards to non-technical staff to create CRUD applications.
For individuals that have development experience the platform can be limiting due to some design constrains.
Caspio is helping us consolidate business processes that our users would rely on MS Access or Spreadsheets into a clean and more lean CRUD application. This allows us to secure data being captured and ensuring that data is consolidating into one DB. In addition, this helps us get more streamline business processes that save time for our staff.
The resource based plan instead of the user one. How is easy and fast to make a prototipte really no-coding.At the same time it provide api and allow JavaScript to customize details. Thire solid improvement and update effort on the platform.
We do not like their approach to fine authorization, but they made more affordable with last releases. Some limits on triggers that make hard if you need to implement complex business logic.
It is amazing how fast is from discussing requirements with customer to show them a pilot. We reduced this time from weeks to (few) days. We improved a lot our response to customer's needs.
The online resources are very helpful and provide the info needed to create an app even for a non-technical person. When we have needed support, the customer service has been great.
I have been very happy. I don't have any dislikes to report at this time.
We moved away from spreadsheets. When we were using spreadsheets, we would have to make updates in several places. Now, we update info in one place and have a history of changes.
The Caspio product brings a lot of mostly intuitive tools for non-technology organizations to quickly design, build, and refine/build information management and sharing solutions for appropriate access and use by their employees, trusted associates, and the general public
The licensing model does not allow smaller organizations with smaller license solutions to access (purchase) specific desired Caspio system capabilities without upgrading to much much larger and expensive (unaffordable) licensing agreements. We appreciate that Caspio can't have totally variable licensing features offerings - but some capabilities, such as being able to select and create a "PDF", rather than a print stream, for a target record, would be very valuable.
We are creating a 'first of its kind' information system to help a non-profit Foundation collect, manage, and share historic cemeteries' decedent information with the public and researchers. Caspio tools enable non-IT personnel and consultants to do rapid design, prototype, refine and deploy of the initial Cemetery Information System, and quickly enhance the platform while it is being used every day by Administrators and the Public. Caspio's database hosting enables the non-IT organization to easily contract for and use a fully formed stable, secure, and expandable hosted database and application solution.
Caspio is a great program. They are so many features you can use. The Caspio Support Team is great as well. They are quick to respond and follow up until your issue is resolved.
So far, I have not been faced with anything I did not like about Caspio. I only think I need to improve at using it to better perfect my projects.
They helped me with a problem with one of the applications we developed. We had to refresh every time we hit submit to see our work in the draft column. Caspio went in and fixed the issue for us.
Our app has been on Caspio for about 5 years- there's a lot to like: The platform itself: Easy to use to quickly get a web app live. Fast rollouts of updates for your users. Endlessly customizable with javascript and css and a REST api that can connect to the outer internet. Lots of helpful features beyond the basic database and its forms and reports (scheduled tasks for data, import/export data, Stripe and PayPal integration, AWS and Zapier integration, etc.). Caspio is a fully featured platform that can be as easily or complexly developed as your needs require. The company: Excellent account and technical support (at least for corporate accounts, which is my only experience). I feel like Caspio is part of my business's team--I can count on them to quickly address issues as they come up and find solutions I'm sometimes unable to see myself. Their ticket support is the best I've seen on any platform.
There's not a lot to dislike, but I do wish the pricing was more flexible, depending on what kind of business and app is used.
Caspio makes it possible to create a fully realized web app with paying customers, with minimum investment. We can also scale capabilities as our business scales. Being able to tailor our resources to the speed of our actual development keeps our business's overhead low.
The platform is simple to use and requires no IT Support.
The UI/UX is somewhat outdated when compared to competitors in its field.
We needed a platform that's HIPAA compliant and easy to implement, manage and maintain for an entry-level workforce. It would have cost our Development team thousands of hours to develop a similar platform and take away from our core roadmap.
It was pretty straightforward to figure out for a novice. Plus, the Caspio team was available for help and regularly checked in.
It was a bit time-consuming to put together all the data pages to make a working database in every facet we needed - outward facing, internal searches, record updates, etc.
We need easily searchable databases to put on our website for our members to find information -- such as directories or document lists.
