"Powerful and flexible but not so user friendly"
What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

I like the ability to track tasks against a project, and to have these tasks automatically generate as the project progresses through a pieline

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

It is infuriating that everything has to be manually linked together. Also, objects such as organisation automatically create, causing a drain in resourced in trying to keep the system clean and avoid paralysis through too much spurious information

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use insightly for leads management, sales management and project management. It gives good of progress transparency in all areas.

I think the best part is search and email attachment widget

The design and overal look and feel of the platform. Also I don't like that there is no easy way to connect google calendar

What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Easy to filter and find specific organizations/prospects. Also updated profiles is easy.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

Email activity doesn't capture bounce backs. Must be manually updates as a non working email.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sending out emails to specific niches is easy. But sending it out directly through Insightly filters it as spam in inboxes.

Visually, it looks great and less cumbersome than other CRMs.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

It does not have enough fields for certain things, it's hard to keep track of notes, and it creates duplicates too easily. It also doesn't integrate with many other software.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Insightly was brought on to help track the sales cycle and allow multiple team members to check in on progress.

What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Insightly is affordable for my company, a small team of 10.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

The UX is cluttered, I've struggled to find the logical flow, and generally could not get into using it. Previously used Salesforce at several jobs, and just really struggled to find Insightly as user friendly.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sales tracking and project management. It helped us store contacts.

"Using Insightly as a mission critical application"
What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Having the application web based makes it very flexible.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

There is NO proactive support for the product. We have huge problems with the email system which, when contact support, they say "oh yes there is a problem with that" yet they have never said a word about it even though they knew it was an issue. The calendar is very weak and the integration with Google calendar is dismal. Lastly, all support is via email which makes considering this application a mission-critical application for a business is very troubling.

We had hoped to solve a calendaring issue, an email issue, and a repository issue. We have only been successful at the repository. Calendaring and email continue to be very weak.

We have a centralized CRM that we are building. We are slowly implementing insightly. There is still alot to work on before we can use the system company wide.

What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

The dashboarding feature as a homepage is a nice place to reflect on your current sales pipeline

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

A lot of their features and nomenclature just don't make sense. Why should I have to convert a lead to a contact? Why do I have to have an opportunity? The attachment of contacts/notes is extremely taxing. The layout is not user friendly with the side bar that pops out. There are many things that I dislike about Insightly. It just doesn't make sense.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are trying to organize incoming leads and also manage current clients. There aren't many benefits of Insightly. If anything it makes it even more complicated because our organization does not want to adopt the software.

I liked the reports feature. Although there are some issues, it worked relatively well.

This CRM really couldnt handle what was needed in the industry I work in (real estate). The search bar was often faulty and never had a streamline flow. There were a lot of issues with the newest version, so we all switched back,

"Basic Product with Poor Customer Support"
What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Fairly simple to use. I have been using Salesforce.com for over a decade and since I needed a free product for my startup I had to change. This was somewhat close in philosophy. The only other thing I like is that it is free. But the minute I can pay a penny for a system I will get off Insightly. Their customer service is non-existent. I've not experienced something like it before.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

Horrific customer support. They do not do phone support at all....they flat our refuse. Their billing is awful and confusing. We reduced our number of licenses but still were billed for the higher amount. Turns out they had a bug that wasn't taking the decreases to licenses, only increases. And they don't give refunds so even though the error was theirs it did not matter. Right now, if you are locked out due to a password issue and you hit the "Reset Password", they will send you a link and when you click on that link it asks you for your password. We've had someone locked out for 3 weeks and counting. They seem to ignore this question and simply send the same link requesting the password each time.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Manage a simple pipeline. For anything complex or for complex organizations it will fall flat on its face.

"Disappointed in Insightly"
What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Insightly is definitely cheaper than other CRMs I've previously used. They have CRM basics for teams that are very small or just getting started.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

Here are the major drawbacks to being on Insightly, and why I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, even small or upcoming businesses with fewer CRM needs: 1. Their support teams have been inconsistent and honestly unhelpful. I've had to fight to have people answer basic questions, and a simple request will take 2-3 emails to get a response. 2. They don't play well with others/do not integrate with any external platforms. This is a huge pain, and even basic email integration back to Insightly is a headache. You cannot easily track activities from your teams, there is no call recording or ability to integrate with a dialer, and if you use a marketing automation platform then you miss out on all marketing clicks, emails, sends etc. 3. Their only solution for solving their integration issue is their new AppConnect platform, and it is difficult to set up for the average user. Even after multiple trainings I am still unable to make changes without consulting their team. The platform is built in JavaScript, and even after looking at Workato documentation and watching multiple videos I still cannot understand their task usage policies. There are hidden fees where if you go over their task limit they automatically shut off all of your "recipes" with very little notice. Feels like a bait and switch and they require payment from you to use a platform you already pay for. 4. Very difficult/impossible without app connect to update one object based on another object being updated. Examples would be updating an account when an opportunity is created. This cannot be done outside of appconnect, and is very difficult to set up when inside of the appconnect platform. In other CRMs this type of workflow is much easier and does not require the purchase of another tool to do a basic CRM function. They have workflow rules, but those only can create other objects and not simply update (i.e. a task is created when an account is updated).

Insightly has been acting as a CRM/source of truth for our product level information. It is basically a holding place for data until we can push it into other systems where we can get better reporting and do more automations based on specific trigger criteria.

"Worst CRM you could possible use!!!"
What do you like best about Insightly CRM?

Nothing. Worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. I wouldn't recommend this to a single person.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

The customer support. There is 0. Our account expired earlier this month and I lost all data that was housed in this CRM for over 5 years. I have been calling for 3 days straight up to 14 times a day without a single response. When I submit a support ticket, it is automatically deleted.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

Customer support is terrible. They must have 1 person for the entire company that takes inbound calls. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone and I wouldn't recommend this CRM to anyone, ever.

You can customize the platform somewhat to fit your company.

What do you dislike about Insightly CRM?

Lack of support and system does not appear to appreciate that prospects can go dormant for a while, then come back.

What problems is Insightly CRM solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am not solving any problems with Insightly. I have used it for many years and find it is limiting our organization, due to not being a complete solution. I had never asked for assistance over those prior years and continued to pay my monthly fee. Now that I have asked, I received one 30 minute consult, then no response to my continued requests. They want me to triple my annual cost for the benefit of customer service, even though they have never had to serve me before.
