Nifty Pros and Cons
- Exceptionally designed interface
- Intuitive and notable for ease of use
- Great suppoprt team
- Starter package is one of the most expensive options today
Compare Nifty with other popular tools in the same category.
It operates as 1 streamlined and efficient ecosytem, taking the best functions from overpriced software such as Asana and Jira, but doing so at a fraction of the price.
Nothing. I cannot express how superior Nifty is to Asana, Jira, Basecamp, and all the others you need to pay for to have the functionality of Nifty.
Cross-Departmental Communication is a huge problem solved. I am able to tell exactly where every project stands across the entire firm, and I am able to tell who has the bandwidth to take on more responsibility without having to waste time asking.
The portal is designed for real project management. Easy to browse and helps users focus on just the things matters to the user. So you don't need to browse around to see things or to fill forms.
The worse problem was milestone date limits the task dates. So if you tried to reschedule a task in a milestone that could not be completed in time, you'd be prompt with an error about the milestone date range. Then you would need to browse away to change the milestone date first before returning to the task. This issue now has been solved. The two things left that still bother me: 1. I hope there is a way to separate members of project teams so the members don't see each other. (what if I have a secret team member I don't want others to even know?) 2. Full CNAME support. Right now Nifty only offers a customized hostname under Nifty's own domain name.
Both work and personal projects. It saves time collecting information from random places.
The UI and UX are some of the best on the market. It makes using the platform an absolute joy and makes me go back for more! The features are also some of the best out there and the team behind Nifty is top-notch and extremely professional.
Absolutely nothing. It's a cliche. But it's true.
Personal and professional project management.
I really like using Nifty. It's powerful but it's also fun to use. There's something about the layout and how easy it is for me to keep my work in order that is incredibly satisfying. The support team is great too. Fast, friendly, helped me learn how to use the platform effectively. I've used other tools like Asana and Trello in the past but Nifty is my preferred and I've moved all my PM work over to them.
Nothing really. It integrates very well with Google Docs, easy to keep organized, lots of features. I don't have anything bad to say.
Keeping organized!! Especially when it comes to keeping my docs in one place. For example, I use multiple Google Docs for each client to track onboarding, web pages to be developed, etc. I can easily link those docs into Nifty within my projects. Then I don't have to figure out where in Google Drive my files are, pull up those screens and all the juggling act. Everything I need is within one platform.
Organization. Having tasks order by date and priority helps my team know what's going on. The schedules change on a daily basis. It's an invaluable tool. You think as a business owner you know how to organize efficiently, but when Nifty came on the scene, you realize that's not the case.
Unless I'm mistaken, I would love to receive notifications with tasks I'm working with, without having the need to tag people. Tagging is simple, yet if you need to use it for every message to "get the message across" so to speak, it's a 2 seconds "wasted". Nitpicky I know!
I receive over 200 emails a day, a good percentage require placing into a uniformed task with start dates, end dates, screenshots and more. Nifty handles all of that with ease. Nifty helps us not forget about tasks and keep on track. It's perhaps the easiest and cleanest and well as stylish platform out there.
I Nifty for keeping our projects organized and on track. It's easy to create new projects, tasks, milestones, and make updates as projects move along. As a company that does a lot of custom projects, it's easy to work from a template and adjust as needed. I also really appreciate the transparency in their development priorities and the obvious dedication to making consistent improvements to the platform. It has been worth every penny.
I wish the workflow and calendar views were more visually intuitive - I'd love to be able to color code or tag items in a calendar since our projects all have tasks that are repeated, and it's not easy at all to look and see what specifically someone is working on or what task is due for what day in the calendar.
Nifty is helping keep everyone on my team on the same page, especially those that don't touch the project every day - it helps keep them in tune to what is going on and when they will be needed to come in. I have also realized that I'm just less mentally taxed trying to remember everything that needs to be done for each project, it's all right there and easy to see what I need to get done every day. Nifty has replaced my various to-do lists, evernote sheets, and post-its.
It's such a comprehensive and full featured PM tool. Combines Slack and PM into one platform to do all work with.
Because it tries to be so much, I'll admit there is room for improvement. My team still loves Slack and how great it was to use. Right now to "chat" with people on mobile is a very slow processes. If they made a separate app just for chat that'd be pretty awesome.
Organization of discussions have vastly improved and tracking time/progress of tasks.
Clean and simple UI, Google Docs integrations, Agile methodologies fully implemented, unlimited contributers
Unable to select multiple items at once for bulk edit
Easy planning, great status updates and good collaboration within teams
NiftyPM is very easy to use, even if you're not familiar with Project Management software. It's interface is very intuitive and a pleasure to use
I've not yet found anything to dislike about the software - There are a few features that I would like to see added though such as CName integration for white labelling.
I've used various PM tools before and none of them had every feature i needed so often had to use 2 tools such as Trello and Asana to manage everything. NiftyPM is the only solution I've found that has everything I need
Being able to communicate on the same project platform in a chat format is indispensable. Not only can I chat in context within projects and tasks but I can WhatsApp style message remote individuals and teams as needed without having to resort to a different communication platform.
Haven't currently found anything I dislike, it's quite literally got everything I need.
Managing remote VA's and what they are doing has become so much easier. Also being able to keep a track of progress so easily with milestones! I've always found it difficult to track project progress easily in many other platforms as it makes it too complex for what I need. Nifty wins hands down with it's powerful simplicity.
Every time I try another feature, it seems to work exactly like I want/expect it to. I'm able to track my time in a simple and intuitive way that let's me look back and learn from past projects. I like that I can put all the info for a client in one place; files, images, agreement contract, internal wiki (docs) and the milestone view is the best gant-like UI I've seen.
I wish there was a feedback button right in the main UI so I could suggest tiny UI improvements. Would like to see some more drag and drop functionality in the various views. Scroll bars should expand 2x-3x on mouseover depending on screen size.
I'm able to track time on multiple tasks on multiple projects for multiple clients and get clear visualizations of what's next across the projects or within just one. It's suddenly so much easier to just answer the question "what's next?"
Overall this is a very intuitive and fast project management system.
I wish the time tracking system was more robust.
I'm able to keep track of several projects at the same time and assign different tasks to team members (or myself) and prioritize our workload.
The functionality and UI makes nifty stand out from all other platforms
Nothing so far. Has been extremely useful for me and my clients
Communication
Nifty is a solid project management tool. It has a complete set of features. The best part is that they have continuous updates. They releases new features almost weekly. Their support is very responsive.
It still doesn't integrate with Pabbly Connect but it's on their roadmap.
Organizing all my agency's tasks and projects. It's very easier to use and onboard team members to adapt it for their daily workload.
Ease to use. I like dashboard having high level overview of all my projects. Integration with slack, zoom is excellent.
Does not integrated google or outlook calendar. I don't like using zaps, I get issues exporting my tasks to google / outlook calendar. It would be nice to have this.
Being small business ecommerce solution provider, I needed a tool to help me scale productivity. Nifty helps me with organizing all my project tasks.
I love the simple and modern interface of the program. It makes it easy to follow along as we progress in the projects
The milestones, I think this could be managed a little better.
We are able to keep all of our projects in order. We can see who is doing what on each project.
It's an all-in-one portal for managing my projects, as well as a place for having all documents related to the project in one place.
I wish the subtask feature was a bit more robust.
Setting up projects and having all documents in one place was always a pain, but with Nifty, I've saved at least a couple hours already on that alone. And time is precious.
First of all, Nifty is a tool that meets or expectations. It is built on a great tech foundation with the exact features that allow users to manage their projects with ease. Secondly, you can give permission to your invited members which is a great benefit.
I would like to be more flexible on how Nifty handles the description field. A more interactive approach, possibly with the use of an HTML editor would be a great enhancement.
Project management efficiency and communication with colleagues and project partners.
Nifty is very well thought out, with truly how people think in a busy work environment. The features are what I need for running my agency without the bloat of things I don't use, and getting in the way. The UI is fast and responsive. Nifty recently added deeper functionality with connections into other apps. I really like that. I would have to say my favorite part is pretty simple: being able to edit google docs right inside the Nifty app. It keeps things organized and speedy.
I would like the time tracking to be more easily toggled on/off without having to go too deep into the app. But that's just me.
I wanted a way to save time and just begin working instead of always wondering what I should do first. Nifty is quick, organized (better than others I've experienced and paid for) and even the mobile app is great.
Using Nifty to manage client projects has been the best investment I've made all year. No more messy email threads, lost documents, or breakdowns in communication. Nifty keeps all my conversations and project material in one place, which means I save a huge amount of time that would otherwise be wasted scanning long back-and-forward email threads, uploading and attaching documents to emails via DropBox, and liaising with clients about project phases and updates. It's changed the way I run my business - and my clients love it, because they can see at a glance how their project is progressing day by day. The chat function has been incredibly helpful too!
I haven't come across anything I dislike about this platform so far. Sometimes notifications from clients have a bit of a delay coming through - but it's a minor detail :)
I use Nifty to manage client projects for my copywriting business, and my creative design studio partnership. It has helped everything run so smoothly from start to finish - I wish had found it sooner!
Task Overview - sorted by Due Date Milestones - with sub-tasks tied to them Ability to work with your team to assign tasks by user Project Portfolios - allows me to separate clients in clear silos for easier organization. Frequent updates - The Nifty team is pushing out constant updates since I've used it, with a clear roadmap.
No clear dislike for me. I see the team constantly pushing updates. For example, I had recurring tasks that were not setting a due date in the future - but that now has been updated & corrected.
Project & Task management that isn't bloated or convoluted. I've tried a ton of project management software - they are either extremely complicated and actually reduce your productivity, or extremely simple, and do not let you achieve the granular control you really want on a project. Nifty is a clear cut, middle of the road PM tool that clicked with me for my needs.
I used monday.com as my primary project management tool before and it was missing a lot of flexibility that Nifty has. I love the way its all laid out, the milestones, Google doc integration, time tracking per task, comments and discussions on each milestone, its all perfectly laid out for my work which is digital marketing and design so I work on everything from paid ad creation to video production. And this is flexible enough to handle it all.
I honestly can't think of anything I dislike. This is an excellent platform.
Time tracking, keeping everything in one place with Google Doc and the way milestones are laid out, and so much more. The two I just listed really changed the way I work. Because I have some jobs where I keep track of my time and some that I dont I love that I can just select the time start button if I want to but its not needed. Also how Google docs is integrated sometimes I have to write out longer copy for websites or something like that and this allows me to do it right within the project but share it so seamlessly.
Everything. It's the best UI/UX I've ever seen. Using the tool is super intuitive, and then you find there are even more powerful functions just underneath the surface. Makes it both approachable, easily adoptable, while at the same time being able to scale to meet the new challenges/complexities of your business as it grows. This is the absolute best tool you have never used. Yes it's the best project management tool, but in terms of app design, feature set, quality, interface, customer support and beyond, Nifty is also the best SAAS tool that exists in any niche.
There is literally nothing I dislike. I found one problem, where I was unable to paste content with bullet points into a Nifty Doc. I reported it, and they already had it as an upcoming fix for their next update. Less than 48 hours later it was fixed. Not only was it fixed, but their support team followed up with me to let me know. Just first class in every single way.
We are a software development startup that overlaps slightly with an existing successful business. It's been very difficult for us to coordinate projects and communication across the team, and as we bring on new team members, this was becoming more of an issue. Nifty has allowed us to organize our projects/tasks/communications, while providing an approachable interface for even new users. It's awesome. My days are literally better because of Nifty.
The tasks functionality and the Dashboard with visual/chart functionality
I would like to see the possibility to customize layout and actions more.
We use Nifty to keep track of our tasks, milestones and communications in one place/platform.
Friendly user ability. It was so easy to incorporate this into my sales team.
The only thing missing would be a CRM. IF this had a built-in CRM this would be the best swiss army knife out there.
Project Management. The ability to know where we are always holding is so helpful.
Beautify and intuitive UI with power features that matter to help stay on top of your projects, teams, resources, and ultimately deliver a great client experience.
Not much to dislike other than few integrations but they have communicated that they are working on core features first.
Project management, especially for complex projects involving a larger team and being able to communicate progress to the client easily. One of the main benefits is having multiple 'dashboard' views to see all projects and being able to switch views to see resourcing by team members - very useful.
It is simple to use to manage all our projects and general daily tasks. And after months of using it, we have not had to contact support once! We have not found any bugs, no things that were too confusing to use, nothing missing that we 'had to have'. We have loved it so far.
I read reviews all the time from people working with a new piece of software and report all the bugs that they find. So far, I have not run into a single bug. With that said, what's there to dislike? Nothing!
We have large website projects that have a lot of 'things' that we need to do in order to bring them to the public. Nifty is making it easy (we created a template based on our first project that we use for all the sites) to make sure that we don't miss a vital step in finishing the project.
Nifty provides a robust project management tool, but the best part of it all, is it simply works, but if it doesn't, the chat support is quick to address the issue and provide solution. I think those are what makes Nifty really a product to beat. You can put all the features, the bells and whistles, but if doesn't work or there's no support, it will simply be useless. I'm glad Nifty is both working and has great support.
It's not really something I dislike, but it's something I'm really looking forward to see added in its features list, and that is task templates. Having been a very long time user of Teamwork PM, I really missed that feature as most of my projects are repetitive and having a task template that you can quickly access and add is a huge time saver.
Client communication and getting organized with all the projects is what I tried to solve with Nifty. I just find that there are many times I lost track of email threads which hurts reliability and cause a lot of problems. With Nifty, I have a central communication tool where all the discussions are saved, files, documents are organized. It just gives you the credibility and gives an impression to the client that you are taking care of the project.
I love the way Nifty organizes my projects. It's the same way my brain works. I could have a company project that included 10 mini projects and I'd always have to create each one as it's own project. With nifty I create the master company and then inside that I can create as many individual projects as I need. Plus it has integrations and import ability and time tracking (when I remember) and I love it.
I wish the time tracking was easier to get to. I forget where it is.
I am solving the problem of my projects been scattered across Google Drive, One Drive and Drop Box. I keep (and edit) documents with the projects they belong to.
Nifty's interface and customization is a huge plus with how easy it is to just plug and play. The G Suite integration brings so much flexibility and functionality as it allows you to directly work on docs, sheets, or other G Suite products within the Nifty platform. This means that you can maintain all that information in a centralized location. It is very easy to create tasks and see multiple views as well as transition task assignees from different views.
Nifty can be slow at times to load. Also, I do not like the fact that comments or changes within a task are not automatically notified to task members. I understand it can be overwhelming to have notifications of every change but a custom option per task would be great. The mobile app works well but it is not as intuitive as the web based version of the platform. I also would like to see better filter use of projects, workloads, and calendars.
We have multiple remote team members handling multiple projects at once. Nifty allows extreme organization of all these projects and individual changes within them. It also allows for a high level view of workloads and aids team management.
