Exclusive savings on Oyster HR through Findstack Deals
As an Indian talent, I like several things about Oyster, but here are my top three: Global reach. Oyster can help me find jobs in over 180 countries, including India. This means that I can have a wider range of opportunities to choose from. Automated hiring process. Oyster's platform automates many of the tasks involved in hiring, such as creating employment contracts and onboarding employees. This can save me a lot of time and hassle. Expertise in Indian labor laws. Oyster has a team of experts who are familiar with Indian labor laws. This means that I can be confident that my rights are protected when I work with a company that uses Oyster. Overall, I think Oyster People Services is a great option for Indian talents who are looking for jobs globally. It's a fast, easy, and compliant way to find the right job for you.
As an Indian talent, I have a few dislikes about Oyster People Services: The platform does not support all of the Indian labor laws. This can make it difficult for talents to understand their rights and protections when working with a company that uses Oyster. One thing to mention is that Oyster doesn't allow NPS deduction yet in India, which is very important for employees' social security. The customer support team is not always available 24/7. Oyster's customer support team is available during business hours but may not be available if you have a question or issue outside of those hours. Getting a reply from customer support sometimes is delayed. Also, oyster should provide its talents(3rd party) company email id, ID card, and company contact number because these documents are required in India for many financial works.
Oyster helps me to get employed by a foreign employee while residing in my home country, and it takes care of my payroll, benefits and labor laws. Oyster improve previous arrangements by my employer by simplifying the process and automating it.
It's easy to use, pretty straight forward to get things done and very user friendly.
Preset reports not always provide much details and you don't have the ability to customize your own reports, which some times causes to take more time to do a task.
We can now get to more workforce in coutries that we couldn't get in the past.
I like using Oyster because it efficiently manages my contractor's contracts and invoices. It is easy to monitor contractor payments and make any necessary corrections as necessary.
I don't particularly appreciate that invoices, once approved, cannot be undone and insisting that an invoice be canceled delays the payment process for the whole team during pay periods.
Oyster is solving the issue of how to manage people who are hired remotely. Using Oyster enables the company to make hires from all over the world, thus increasing the possibility of making job opportunities available to people worldwide.
I like the onboarding process. It's great that invoices are so easy to create and approve. The support team is very responsive.
I had some technical issues, but I was able to solve them quickly with the help of the support team
I have international contractors, and I love I can manage them all from one place. No matter which country they live
The ease of communicating with the team and onboard process
So far everything has been like a walk in a park
Full-time contract with my workplace
Support is fantastic. We also left a competitor to partner with Oyster HR. The competitor had a ton of hidden fees that you wouldn't notice unless you have a diligent controller. Oyster is very transparent and incredibly helpful
Not much to dislike. One suggestion would be to find localized employee healthcare benefits. The off-the-shelf healthcare benefits are global, which is great for digital nomads. Most of the time, we've found that local healthcare plans are more effective for employees and have better costs for employers. Oyster helped us through this process, but seeing this as a standard option for others would be nice.
Oyster helps us onboard, pay, and provide benefits to our valued employees outside of the U.S. This is done with a beautiful user interface, well-built automation, and top-notch customer support.
Oyster helps me to work with the whole world. Without his help, I would not have been able to find a job. I am very grateful for the opportunity Oyster gives me.
Didn't notice that. Quality of service, speed, support work - no problem. I don't know what else to write. The main thing is not to degrade the application and stay on top
Oyster solves the following problems for me: 1. Opportunity to work with customers abroad 2. the ability to receive payments from abroad 3. convenient platform where everything is intuitive and accessible
Straightforward interface to use and has all the essential tools available. Also, their support is very friendly and the response times are great!
One thing I would love to see is a recap of your remaining PTO and other types of time off available in order to have a better overview when going to request time off.
I'd say, first of all, being employed locally in my country of residence, even when working for a foreign company. Their dashboard also really makes it easy to access payslips and requesting time off.
I have found it very useful. It's easy to submit expenses and request time off.
Sometimes I still need to fill things in on the Companies internal sites so I have to do things twice
I need to be employed in Germany but my company is in the UK
Great support team, assistance in getting necessary documents, platform is easy to use!
I had an incident with late payment of salary and feel like the support team could've done more to help me.
Being hired from abroad, easy management of taxes, signing contracts
Oyster provides a fast and flexible way to hire team members remotely without a legal entity and without knowledge about local regulations.
It took a bit more time than expected to get everything up and running and we needed some iterations between all parties.
Fast and flexible remote hiring.
Able to employ in various countries around the world, dedicated resources and knowledge of local markets
very few issues, things in Canada seemed to take a long t
Ability to employ in multiple countries without setting up legal entities
I can log into the portal and view my payslips and contract at any time. Submitting expenses through the platform is easy and they get paid along with your salary. On-boarding was pretty straightforward with some forms to complete - my contract came through very quickly.
It would be good to have a phone number to call in case of queries. I did have a payroll query and after a couple of days it was still outstanding - but with my employer involved it got resolved very quickly. I would suggest that they add an on-boarding step ahead of the first payroll just to confirm everything was in place - just for peace of mind.
It's meant my employer can hire where they need to - without the expense of setting up a new office or local subsidiary. I'm employed by an amazing US company but still have all of the UK legal requirements met (including an auto-enrollment pension). I think this is the future for companies that really embrace remote working.
Takes the worry out of setting up a PayRoll in another country knowing if all the legal stuff is correct.
I appreciate Oyster is updating systems all the time but when I email 4 different email addresses it would be really nice for at least one of them to acknowledge me.
The portal is very easy to use, approving invoices is straightforward, the breakdown should be a breakdown though with the formulas.
The ability to expand our talent search outside of the countries in which we're registered as a business. Also the advice that's available by the onboarding support team who can offer specialised knowledge in each country of interest.
The time to hire can vary - for some countries we receive a new hire's draft contract within days; for others its taken much longer than this. Occasionally it can be awkward to explain to the candidate why the contract is taking time to prepare, when we aren't sure ourselves.
The ability to quickly hire talent in any given country without needing to first register as a business within that country - a long and painful process. No involvement in preparing payroll.
That they were able to offer HR services to companies without a legal entity in my geography.
Not 100% sure there is someone in my timezone to answer questions I have.
My employer doesnt have a legal entity in the country that I am employed, so Oyster has provided the HR services required from my employer in order to hire and retain me.
Whenever I need to communicate with them, it's fairly easy and my issues get resolved fast. They use local experts for support so I get answers that are actually correct. I have experience with other competitors where the knowledge of the support was quite poor and the resolution times were often in days.
Some functionality for employees is not very well developed yet, such as uploading updated tax documents. The support has to handle these requests manually.
I can work fully remotely with a company that does not have an office in the country where I live, but it's fully legal and I get the support I need.
Compared to their major competitor, their response time for support is very quick. Also, once you ask for support, you can continue communicating with the person assigned to your case, which works great with follow up questions related to the matter in question
I would like it if they would have different standard policies per country for for example, drug free workplace, etc, which would make it easier to comply with customers in the US. Also, you used to be able to TALK to a person when in need of support. I liked that about Oyster. That was changed, however the support works pretty fast.
Definitely provides a lot of accurate information on country specific hiring. This is extremely helpful when you are in a different country and want to stay compliant. The benefits for our company are saving time looking for all of this, being compliant and getting questions answered quickly.
responsive, easy to integrate, possibility to be flexible
timelines, some of my questions have been unanswered
i have moved countries and was able to continue working for my company
Oyster has proven to be an invaluable asset for us by streamlining our processes with its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features. The platform's efficient tools have significantly reduced the time spent on new employee integration, while its robust performance management and analytics capabilities have empowered us to make data-driven decisions. Oyster's seamless integration with other HR tools and its commitment to staying up-to-date with compliance requirements make it a top choice for any organization seeking a reliable and modern HR solution.
A lot of local features are missing. Being local holidays being automatically added or local benefits such as pension and benefits not in the program from some of the countries where we needed it, which meant that it was up to the employee themselves to figure out how to save money from their salary to their pension plan which can be borderline impossible. I wish there was a roadmap for these features to really make it easy for employees to stick with companies that use Oyster.
I find Oyster's limitations particularly frustrating due to its lack of a global calendar feature, making it challenging to efficiently track and manage employee vacations across different countries. The absence of this crucial functionality hampers our ability to coordinate and plan effectively, leading to potential scheduling conflicts and increased administrative workload. A global calendar would greatly enhance the software's usability, ensuring a more seamless and globally inclusive management experience.
