The portal is customer friendly, and the representatives are responsive.
As a global employer, they use third-party providers which are not as customer friendly or responsive.
Hiring employees outside of locations where we are registered. Unfortunately, EORs do not seem to have caught up to where we are as a global economy in terms of being able to hire quickly in all locations.
The user experience and the documentation availability is quite straightforward and easy to use. Its easy to find receipts and apply for leaves. The technical queries are resolved quickly.
Oyster do not support Digital nomad and this should be one of the perks of having a remote job. They should mentioned in cyrstal clear in the contracts that they do not allow it at all.
Oyster is able to provide contracts and salary receipts right away. I don't have to run behind the support or anyone for such things. The other processes are clear on the dashboard itself.
The customer support team that we have through Oyster is top notch. They bring a breadth of knowledge to tell us make decision and on-board our talented teammates.
The turnaround time has been a bit of struggle. It'll typically take all of 24 hours to get a couple questions responded to/answered. For us, we're able to account for the delay but it can take well over a week to on-board.
We are able to on-board and use Oyster as an EOR for our talented teammates in Canada and EMEA.
I like the platform. It is easy to get where I need to go in the platform. It is easy to add new hires. I haven't had to worry about payroll since I've been using Oyster. It has been so easy to make sure our UK contractors get paid on time.
I do not like that I cannot speak to someone when I have a question. All support is through email. Sometimes the responses are lagging.
Oyster is helping us pay contractors in the UK. It is saving me a lot of time. Basically after set up, I have not had to do much at all besides verify that there are no changes to pay. Oyster makes sure our contractors get paid on time.
The ability to hire remote workers, and to be hired, with confidence, from anywhere in the world!
Currently, it is extremely hard to get hold of anyone, within a short timeframe to assist with a query or concern. As a South African, I do not know who is myu single point of contact.
Oyster illuminates the barriers that exist when a person is hired from a foreign country
I like that it has allowed me to work with a company oversees and the flexibility that gives. The dashboard is very easy to use and straightforward.
Emails sometimes take too long to get answered and there is not that much flexibility with how they manage bonuses
Oyster has allowed me to continue working for my US company after moving to the UK. They handle my payroll which is a massive benefit.
It's practical and has a friendly interface. It's straightforward to generate and send an invoice and know its status. And it's fast to get my payment when I get paid.
When I had a problem, I felt that I didn't get enough attention in solving that problem. It took me a long time to receive a payment and even caused me financial losses.
Receiving money, and sending my invoices.
Highly user friendly platform in managing to hire and pay the team.
Nothing. Working all aspects of the platform very well.
Multi-country payroll.
Transparent, fast and easy onboarding process, friendly and compentent customer service, nice interface
- the customer support could be faster - more insights into salary details like taxes and social security contributions - PTO overview
Hiring remotely.
The guides online help understand the basic laws of the land , taxes, holiday days before making an offer
No Customer Support via phone While we have a customer success manager, the responses take more than 24 hours & some cases details are shared after multiple followups.
We are hiring across Europe & as a MENA based organization Oyster helps us tap into the talent across different regions. We have folks in more than 6 countries where we have no entities.
Great flexibility with fantastic customer sort to enable businesses looking to scale.
Sometimes processes fall short such as accurately processing payroll
Payroll accuracy as we experience alot of errors
Accessible and easy to navigate. You can view your docs anytime
The payslip is uploaded late. It is better if payslips will be uploaded before the pay day.
none
I love being about to keep staff onboard who have moved outside of the United States. Oyster's system allows us to keep those people on team and continue to pay them without worrying about ensuring they get paid.
We were confused about how much we would pay for our employees and how much would go to the local company in the country. Also, the exchange rates between currencies made the process harder to manage.
We would have no idea how to manage employee staff outside the country. Alos, as a small organization, we don't have the resources or time to manage that. Oyster allows us to employ staff we would otherwise be unable to employ.
i like how you work and it's very simple to work and faster
it takes too long to receive the money not but the problem is at the bank and the money since you sent it i did not again receive it
help us to receive the money early it takes too match time to receive it; Experiences
I like having a one place for everything concerning benefits, timesheet, time off request, etc. Also, I think support does a fantastic job. They usually provide quick replies and most of the time provide all the information needed related to the subject. I appreciated that I sometimes I found also more insights related to what might have been my follow-up questions.
1 - I am still awaiting documents from the Health insurance that should be provided. I have already requested support for this once,I am now going to send a new inquiry to know more about the status of this. 2 - I am unsure if there's a phone number to contact in case of urgencies or to speak with someone about any matter. 3 - The app.OysterHr.com might be designed with a new bar on the right side of the screen with FAQs in mind, related to the screen the user is currently navigating. For example, in the time off screen you could remind the user if he needs to input public holiday from his own country of for the one where the company is located. As you can see I am easily forgetting such things. That could help.
Oyster main goal for me is to provide a reliable payroll system, and it's avoiding me the hussle of opening a partita IVA (VAT number) in my country in order to work for companies abroad
It just works, I have a job and get paid
The benefits approach hasn't been the best. SafetyWing are complex and hard to use. In my opinion colleagues should be able to choose e.g. BUPA
I am working for a company without a UK entity and can effectively contribute for that company as if I was hired by them
1. Customer support is very responsive and thorough, they will do proper research to answer your questions 2. The platform is user friendly and easy to navigate, so most solutions are easy to find in their help articles 3. Visibility into expenses: it is easy to find the breakdown of any charge 4. They are not requiring us to pay the invoice while they are investigating the billing issue
1. It is fairly expensive 2. We have discovered a few issues lately, and it has been a couple of weeks while they are investigating the response. On the upside, they are not insisting that we pay while they investigate
We can hire an employee quite literally anywhere in the world
Simple solution, simple onboarding flow, many countries, guidelines for comp when needed, simple flow for validation requests (time off / expense), fast response time from support.
Not appropriate for complex organisation structures with multiple entities (the platform cannot manage parent organisations, if we want to invoice different entities, we need to create a new company profile each time), some local providers might be pretty slow with request processing (I have a poor experience with Spain), immigration and relocation services are a nightmare, invoicing not always clear (no details provided in the balance invoices).
Oyster helps us contract with talented people in places where we don't have local entities.
Easier to set up vs other providers; easy user experience
Not always clear how billing works (especially now with pre-funding)
We can consolidate all our EOR efforts in one tool
The Oyster platform is helpful for hiring people in other countries and having them deal with compliance and foreign law. The onboarding and offboarding are easy and the platform is easy to use and navigate.
The switched from a dedicated rep to a ticketing system and the transition was awful. Left for days without responses to pending tickets and have to constantly follow up. The HRBPs lack knowledge and will either give you incorrect information or a canned response from a FAQ which is frustrating for both the employer and employee. Theyir payroll teams aren't versed in payroll and taxes and often times need to check their work. Since we have implemented them, there have been a number of mistakes made by Oyster (sent out mass emails about incorrect payroll debits), new invoicing prices, new stuctures on how the operate (almost monthly). In countries they don't have entities they use a third party which I don't like and wish they were more upfront about at the beginning, because whenever there are issues it takes double the time to resolve since they are just the middle man.
Oyster helps us hire people in other countries where we don't have entities.
I'm still discovering, actually, I am just here since April
I once had to wait 10 days to get a simple answer.
my company needs to hire someone to hire me, this is the only benefit
Oyster makes it very easy to hire employees from other countries, which is a relief on our part. The customer services is also helpful and services minded. During the hiring of our first employee through Oyster, we received a lot of help and support which was appriciated.
Quite slow on response and it is very difficult to start an errand at Oysters customer service due to the fact that there is no contact person to write to. Instead you are placed in a queue to wait for a contact. We would really prefer to have a contact person that we always can contact when in need of support. It also seems impossible to set up the SEPA Direct Debit. The set up from Oyster side must align perfectly with the set up from our bank. We have tried to set it up with the help of Oyster customer Service for around 3-4 months and we still haven't managed to do it right. There is always something that doesn't match.
Hiring employees that work remotely from other countries.
The team is good and friendly and always available to help
Several times, we had to point out issues more than one time to see them solved. We also experience some issues with payroll and the issues tends to be always the same.
We have hires in countries where we don't have an office and we hire our people through Oyster. The payroll and specificities of the country are also managed by Oyster together with our payroll team
The international pass for remote employees would be very helpful.
Making a trustworthy platform both for employers and job seekers. I think the employers are not prepared well to accept this platform yet.
I have a very minimum experience with Oyster. So far the contents and offers would be helpful for the users. I wish it would help me in future endeavors.
I like the salary section - you can accurately work out total cost of employment no matter where they are in the world. Super helpful
Paying a deposit of a month salary and fee in advance.
I can hire globally, no need for a legal entity
Oyster is an amazing partner who helps with hiring in countries that we do not have a local presence. From payroll, taxes, health benefits - Oyster takes care of it
Oyster can be pricey once you hit a certain amount of hiring headcount.
Oyster is our 3rd party partner and extension of our team for all things HR. From a compliance, tax, payroll, benefits perspective in countries we do not have a presence, Oyster allows us to hire the best in class talent and build an amazing company.
Professional HR platform with comprehensive functions. When you need to solve a problem, you can find the corresponding solution.
The platform is a bit confusing and finding a feature is not always easy. There is always some delay when you seek human help
Oyster was very helpful in helping me with my reimbursement. The process is clear and simple, and the operation is very user-friendly
Simple and easy to navigate platform. Friendly customer support agents on the other side.
Invoicing and processing pay needs to be a lot better, variable charges MoM for the exact same member when they have had no changes in compensation make it extremlty dificult to manage Payroll via Oyster.
Allowing us to employ in teritories we would normaly be unable to do so whitout going through a lengthy process of registering an entity.
Easy to use and navigate. The online portal is well designed and the information provided is great
Customer service and the several errors in invoices
Helping us hire in different countries
Great platform, very intuitive and user friendly. A lot of things are automated so it is easy to understand and repeat each month as we are running payments.
Unfortunately, we have encountered a lot of issues with hiring through Oyster, starting from incorrect payroll, wrongly allocated taxes and totally incompetent HRBP who gave us incorrect advice. Our formal complaint was ignored for months until I chased multiple times just to get a response with a 'timeline' of events which did not investigate the nature of our complaint or the issues we came across. We also had issues with incorrect invoicing and our Finance Department had to calculate the amounts due for Oyster as they were not able to figure out their own calculations and invoices raised / payments received.
We were able to hire someone in another country without opening an entity there.
