Some of my colleagues work as independent contractors and so have to invoice the company every month. They also have to look after all their own taxes and things like that. Remote takes all the headaches and guesswork out of all this side of employment. It has been a smooth transition from working directly with a company in my home country to working remotely with a foreign company through Remote. It doesn't feel any different from my previous employment. Any issues that I have had, their customer service has been able to solve within 24 hours (at the very latest) and their professionalism has been impecible. Putting in for holidays, requesting documents and viewing paycheques would be the main reasons for logging in and have had no issues using these features. They have been incredibly useful and very easy to onboard to. Not a steep learning curve if you are used to using similar software.
I haven't really come across anything that I have had much issue with, in all honesty. Everything is easy to use and understand.
For me, having a centralised system where all my employment details, my documents (Employement docs, paycheques etc.) and a place to track and plan my vacation time, is absolutely perfect. I have been in places before where these are fragmented and split across multiple systems. Remote centralises everything into one sourse of truth for the duration of your employment.
I've been working with Remote now for over 1 year and I'm delighted about how clear and easy everything works out. It seems as if the paid time off isn't adjusted automatically to the contract (but maybe I just haven't understood how this overview works, yet). Apart from that there's nothing I'd consider worth improving--everything works out really well.
Remote allows me to work for a country that is not located in my home state without all the fuzz about cross-country contracts, etc. Because there's an office of Remote in my home country, I also have the feeling that I'm being looked after well and professionally all round.

Nothing. The log in button is inside the menu instead of right on the main page, but that's just a tiny thing. I use it every month for payslips and questions about contract. Enough number of features for me.

There were a few items that weren't translated to German and it made things a little difficult.
My company uses Remote because they needed a way to hire in Germany right away.
Their UI/UX is simple and effective. One can find everything they need to do quickly. Their chat is responsive and helpful.
I never used another employer of record so it's difficult to compare. Maybe they can chill on some of the reminder notifications? And even then it's pretty easy to get them to stop by just asking in the chat.
I can be employed by an American company while being in France. It's great!

Remote helps my principal clients facilitate payroll easily to contractors like myself. Remote gives the option to withdraw funds via numerous options including Stripe and bank transfers. Regardless of which option you choose, you are guaranteed safe arrival of your payments. The fees associated with bank transfers is particularly great because it's really cheap because Wise handles the transaction. Remote's web support team has been very helpful in times when I need some clarity on a certain query I have about the platform.
I have not yet encountered anything in particular about Remote that makes me dislike it. One thing that I would note though is the interface is sometimes blocked by the "Chat Now" pop up on the bottom right corner.
Remote facilitates core HR facilities like payroll, contractor management, time off calendars and many more. This makes it easier for both principal and contractor to have those things handled by a service like Remote.
