Remote has given an excellent platform to facilitate remote job requirements. Their onboarding, leave management and payroll rollout are on time. Remote remains on top of employee satisfaction and carefully follow up on tickets or concerns raised on time.
Remote can improve its on-call experience with employees by providing a direct dial-in number and should include more handbooks to understand things related to insurance.
Remote is helping me with salary rollout in CAD from my parent company. Remote is also helping in additional expense tracking and claims from my employer. Timely updates and notifications also and additional benifit.
Customer Support service and onboarding process of Remote.com
The breakdown of the payslip(Mostly on the Basic Pay since there's are no daily wage included on it).
Problems about the payslip since you need those when you apply for certain things here in the Philippines.
Quick support response and always very polite
As a global service, national bureaucratic requests can be slower to be resolved
I didn't have to work as a freelance as I have been hired by remote subsidiary
The platform is really easy to navigate and getting new employees signed up is easy. Remote.com takes care of all the legal documentation and applies all relevant laws, so you don't even have to think about it.
The new method of billing which was introduced recently is very frustrating in terms of reconciling our accounts. Receiving an initial invoice on the 17th and another towards the end of the month duplicates our efforts in this regard.
Previously we would have manually paid employees, as well as pay and calculate taxes and pension contributions using spreadsheets. So it's nice to have remote take care of all that for us, so we have more time to focus on the business.
The ease and customer service. IT is huge to have the ability to add to our team in India and have someone who knows the laws. The new Singapore employment laws have been challenging and our Remote.com rep- Melroy- has been outstanding. Having someone to always email questions to has been a huge load off HR.
Hard to add new territories. If you are in India, you can't easily add a UK worker. They don't have an intern ability in India and there isn't the ability to easily pull data.
International hiring, contracting, and payment. Benefits are having someone who knows those changing laws and they are able to work with us to get our new people onboarded fast and get our teams up and running smoothly.
The UI is fantastic: super intuitive on both the employee/contractor and admin side. The Remote team is super responsive and try hard to solve any issues.
They are still relatively new and working through some kinks, e.g. the benefits they offer. That being said, they are improving very rapidly.
-hiring an international workforce: makes it easy to hire and comply.
The on-boarding process, quick response times
no option for personal contact by phone and in the native language
Dealing with expenses
Availability and reactivity of the Customer Service team, always diligent and extremely helpful
Some rare technical issues on the platform
Employment across the world, which is Remote value proposition. Benefits in terms of recruitment and talent attractiveness.
Making it possible to work from any country, having a chat to ask questions
the features in the app are not very powerful, like the public holidays not being automatically on the calendar and having to take it out of the time of request otherwise it counts as paid time off, The signature of the contract is not easy and you need to check everything carefully , I had to review mine 5 times
My Company doesn't have an entity in Portugal so I¡m employed through Remote. It also allow me to get the benefits like health insurance and taxes being held in my payroll
Well, it allows my company to hire me. That's great.
They're confused about certain things. They don't explain the payslips that well. I got sent a meal allowance card that actually is not meant to be used. Stuff like that. Also, if you have a problem, you'll talk to Support with anyone from anywhere, not actually an agent from your country. People from other countries often have zero context about national labor laws and it's harder to talk to them.
I'm an employee using Remote. The problem it solves is I can be hired by a company that isn't officially registered here.
That it's really easy to use and pretty straightforward
I really can't think of anything I don't like from it. But
To let foreign companies to hire me without having an office in my country :)
The platform is complete for businesses paying employees who are working in any remote setting. Everything is taken care of without any stress or worry, holidays, overtime and sick days.
Quite regimental in terms of onboarding and discharging of employees.
Payments received on a regular basis without delay or disruption.
I like the ease of use. They also take care of their employees.
In this case the holiday policy in Finland was a bit weird compared to the standard norm in Finland.
It allows us as a small company to hire people we have worked with for years without legal hassle.
Most helpful is time tracking. Also sending invoices et receiving money is very convenient.
I dislike the fact that we can't link time tracking with the invoice creation And it is impossible to export time tracking sheets properly
The issue of being paid by a foreign company
Remote Platform is very easy to use, from onboarding to day-to-day use. Also, Customer Support is good on Chat and Email.
From the payment perspective in India, does not provide various tax benefits (Flexible tax benefits like Food Coupons, etc.) in India.
My Company is in USA and I am in India, Remote is providing the platform starting from Payment Contract, Payroll and Contract Management. With Remote, I am getting salary in INR and able to work for USA based company. Providing all the help related to India Taxation, payment flexibility, etc.
I really like how I have full control of my side of things in a very smooth and intuitive way through the dashboard. I can send requests and invoices and add/remove my bank details easily without needing to contact my employer. I also like how it auto-suggests the next invoice name correctly. I use it a few times a month, usually once for invoicing and every now and then for time off requests. Support is OK, they're polite and I like how it's async (works well), but I think it could improve the speed.
I've honestly had issues receiving my invoice for every other payment so far. Getting support wasn't easy/fast as they'd escalate me to contractor support but that was a bit weird and communication could've been a bit more clear. Both I and my employer had issues with them not recognizing payment or flagging weird things without much reason. I wish I could go more in-depth but it's really difficult as not much has been shared with me. One thing I can say is that it's frustrating that every other month my employer will approve the invoice in like 48h but my payment would be delayed for nearly 2 weeks due to issues with the platform.
The fact it acts as an intermediary processing bank information and transactions is really useful as I don't need to keep going back and forth with my own employer to get these things right. If I want to use a different receiving method each month that's fine, I don't need to email HR or anyone, I just choose it with a few clicks on the platform and that's very handy and allows a whole new level of freedom as a contractor.
Being able to hire employees from across the world is having a positive impact on our company's growth, especially for those roles that are hard to fill in the UK. For most countries, the onboarding is smooth and quick.
There have been times when Remote has taken too long to come back to us when we've had an issue. Also, there has been some miscommunication between its departments.
Hard to fill roles in the UK.
The UI of the platform is very good compared to the previous EOR services I have used (one is a name of a fruit!). Submitting expenses and making claims under medical insurance policies is extremely easy. They are also partnered with great service providers such as Scottish Widows for pensions and Axa. Customer service when needed have been prompt and professional.
While the platform is very easy to use, I feel that the expenses side could be improved. I find it a tad annoying that the FOREX is put on the employee when making the claim as the exchange rate isn't made transparent to the employer when approving it. Therefore, when making foreign exchange expenses as an employee you sometimes aren't reimbursed the full amount due to the FOREX liability falling on you. Lack of salary sacrifice schemes such as EV car salary sacrifice schemes.
Have the ability to employ talent around the world without borders.
Pay slips are given promptly every month, any queries are answered by their live team of agents within a few minutes. No complaints.
Perhaps they could send less marketing emails but that's about it
Hiring and paying talent across Europe without a legal entity in those countries
The customer support and response of Remote staff to questions about the program, services, and things that don't seem to work has been rapid and effective. There are some benefits that aren't offered yet in Spain that I'd appreciate, such as for transport. I understand this is being investigated.
The experience of remote is a bit fragmented since they coordinate with different providers to provide their benefits. It means you're not just working with Remote.com but also their sub-contractors which can add overhead as you figure out where to go to find information or resolve an issue.
Remote handles paying my wages and administering benefits in Spain where my employer isn't setup. There's no need for my employer to manage this on their own.
