One area which i see as a challenge is obviously the cost. It restrcits a user for doing smaller implemntations. Another, aspect which is a bit complicated is the access and control level. I understand that Salesforce gives you a lot of control management features but i feel this can be provided in a simpler way on UI.
I have been using salesforce to maintain all my account, pricing and product information. I have been using the marketing cloud as well for generating few campaigns. All this information is integrated to salesforce via MuleSoft which is another salesforce product. At the end of day all this information is stored within Salesforce and is used as a CRM system to manage campaigns
