The new Square Online platform which is completely different than what was once Weebly is targeted toward building e-commerce websites. It's a fine product for simple websites that don't need today's modern website features.
Since the acquisition of Weebly, Square has dropped the development of the Weebly platform completely leaving existing users behind in terms of new modern website features that you would expect website builder systems to have. What was once a great website-building platform is dead in the water. Support has greatly suffered as well since the acquisition. I couldn't recommend this product. Square is instead focusing on its own website platform that is targeted at e-commerce websites.
Square Online unfortunately is not solving any problems as they've basically shelved the Weebly platform. My biggest fear is that they'll shut it down forcing me to move several of our client websites to a different platform. Thankfully this hasn't happened yet but I fear the writing is on the wall.
The best part of Square Online is that it is free. It is basic, but has enough features to compete with other companies in the same space, but it is not as user friendly.
I didn't like editing with this software because the emblems that represent different editing features are not labeled clearly. The tutorials to learn how to use the website editing features are not good.
I have since transitioned from this website company to subsplash which is a far superior company from actualy design features and user-friendliness, to customer service.
Being able to use it on the website and app
This isn't user friendly at all. It was difficult to change fonts, add pictures, and edit throughout the entire time using it. We finally became frustrated and stopped using it.
We were just trying to write a fun blog, which became more of a frustration.
Weebly was very user friendly, which made set-up quick.
The lack of customization available was frustrating.
I used this for two years for my web design, and it was very easy to maintain after the initial set up.
I like that the system is affordable and easy(ish) for new users.
The system is clunky. It is one thing not to be mobile-friendly, but this system isn't even desktop-friendly. It has very low responsiveness.
We used it for a coalition website. It did the job, but I was glad to only use it minimally.

Weebly does a good job of transferring the desktop website to mobile automatically. I don't find myself fidgeting around with it to much.
I actually hate when I am required to make a Weebly website. I find that there interface is difficult to use, there features are way behind other web page creation sites and I really dislike that you cannot copy and paste sections of your design. I find myself wasting a lot of time dragging and dropping content boxes again and again because of this. I also find it hard to believe that you cannot preview live links in their preview mode - you should be able to make sure your site is functioning properly before you go live.
I have to use this software because the company I work for bought multiple domains - I am assuming they received a discount in doing so, so we benefiting with cost savings.
