Upwork helps me connect with new clients
Too many freelancers apply to the same jobs
Upwork helps me find clients looking for services I offer
You know for sure that you will get paid. The escrow feature is what I love the most.
Truth to be told, the 20 % fee is quite big for a one time and small gigs like $5-$50. It would be better if the commission rate goes progressively.
I can earn being at home. Apart from that, I will have more spare time for myself and my family to spend with.
I like everything about Upwork, right from the process freelancers go through to join the platform, how clients post their jobs, how freelancers are selected for a particular job, the tools available for freelancers to execute the job either as fixed or hourly, how they enable clients to review the job done and how freelancers are paid for what they have worked for. I also love their support. I have used other freelancing platforms but Upwork is simply the best.
I love everything about Upwork. There is nothing I dislike about them.
As a Web developer and Email Technical expert, I use Upwork to reach out to a lot of clients all over the world. Without Upwork, I wouldn't have been known as someone who delivers such services to clients.
What I like best is the ease of use to list a job, being able to also invite freelancers (not just have them find you), it's a very secure way and great to build trust with someone new, you can find almost anyone for anything, I can easily edit job descriptions when hiring, and for a small fee, you can get personal support in hiring. It's also super easy to sort people by several options such as individuals, agencies, ratings, location, rates, and many more items. It's by far the easiest to use place for hiring and I have never had a bad experience with it.
There really isn't anything I dislike. There are some freelancers that are somewhat pushy when it comes to applying but that is on the individual and not Upwork. Mainly if I have invited them and then they keep messaging adn saying "ready to start" when they are not qualified for the job.
The problem it solves is easily hiring people for things that either I or my clients don't know how to do and otherwise would not know where to find them. It saves time too! And last, is the trust factor. Hiring someone you don't know can be risky and Upwork gives you protection for that so gives peace of mind.
In a world where organizations are increasingly becoming global, the need to outsource the work to people who can help you accomplish the task at a lower cost is ever-increasing. This is where Upwork comes into play. It is a freelancer marketplace that provides a secure platform to hire for a variety of tasks. When I am looking for a freelancer to get a task done, Upwork remains the first place that I look.
to dislike I think upwork is best than frelancer that the froud are less in upwork and there is less limitations
Upwork is my go-to platform for hiring freelancers. It is secure, reliable, and it is filled with numerous talented professionals and agencies. I have hired freelancers for simple and complex tasks and have always been satisfied with the results. Even when hiring for a long-term project, I do not hesitate to use Upwork because I know I will be able to find the talent I am looking for. I highly recommend using Upwork to anyone looking to hire freelancers or to get their services outsourced to professionals.
Many job postings with well paid clients. On time payments with payment protection. User friendly and mobile access is great.
Fees as 20% for first 500 dollar earnings is bit high, most of clients comes for a single job.
Improving skill set as per present requirements. Portfolio management to showcase work delivered.
The way of communicating between client amd freelancer
Th polices it has to be more softly because you can be blocked with any mistake
Gaining momey without wasting time
I am a new graduate from Nepal. It is really hard to find a job at the beginning of your carrier. My friends and seniors said about Upwork and I tried it and found it very useful. I got my first pay through Upwork. Happy about that.
It is a great product but still, It will charge you 20% which might be a bit unfair for the small scale workers and clients.
Being a student, Upwork really helps me to get jobs in my interested field and helps to fulfill my expenses.
Broad field of experienced professionals
Method of payment is limited to payment by credit card.
Design of power distribution system.
1) once we post project/ job on upwork we get number of response from freelancers 2) we can hire a developer based on their cost or their talent
I don't have any point to dislike upwork
1) we are now able to find full time or part time freelancer for software development. 2) we able to hire part time freelancer instead of recruiting permanent engineer. Which helped us to save lot of money. 3) no need to pay lump sum amount. we can pay freelancer for what he completed.
Rather than needing to hire a firm or a specialist part-time, I love that I can post a job on Upwork for a specific task or effort my business needs to be done. The vetting process feels reputable and I was comfortable engaging with a freelancer who could help me with a job. Great service!
While the pricing of agencies has only gotten higher over the years, the rates for many of the freelancers on Upwork were quite high. What's more, those with lower rates usually had questionable reviews and performance. This is more so a reflection on the freelance market and its pricing rather than Upwork as a platform, but it is a large factor in reviewing the service. You get what you pay for.
Upwork allowed me to hire a specialist for SEO work without having to hire a team of employees. The experience was smooth and I now know I have a great resource when I need a task or temporary job for my eCommerce business.
Amazing job platform & it’s really good for freelancers & SME’s
Nothing about dislike & I think upwork best at every thing
I got all project through upwork & it’s has helped me to eating more money
People assume sometimes that Upwork is only for projects on a budget. But we've landed clients anywhere from $85/hr to $250/hr. It's an amazing platform for consistently getting clients and building up a reputation.
It can be difficult to weed through the jobs that aren't very good or understand the right person to hire. It was a bit of a learning curve for us.
Hiring and getting hired are both solved here. It's the most consistent way we've found for both these tasks.
Escrow and Automatic Deduction done by UPWORK
For FIXED RATE Project - payment should be in a day after clients approval (this means they already checked thus, approval is given, so no need to hold longer the freelancer payment. For HOURLY RATE Project - no more than 3 days, most of my clients monitor my work progress daily - so he knows.
No client is allowed to hire if they don't have verified credit account.
I love the fact that I am able to generate leads for my freelance business. I also have the option to find candidates that are the perfect fit for me. Plus, the perks of being a top-rated freelancer!
A few minor adjustments to the UI & job score.
Lead generation Scaling my business Steady revenue stream
First of all, it has a lot of job offers. You can choose a job offer even if the task doesn't completely fit your profile. So basically, when you don't have an offer to choose that fits your main profile, you can pick some easy-to-do side hustle.
The percent taken from the income, sometimes I have to make my price for work higher to cover it.
First of all, it's working with foreign clients as I love working with people from all over the world. Second of all, almost all the job offers are remote ones, which totally works for me. Third of all, it's the payment issues that you may face without the platform, like clients who "forget" to pay or difficulties with payment transfers between countries.
I like the flexibility and the variety of jobs that are available. Finding clients has been easy. Setting up contracts has also been effortless. I have also built a solid team through Upwork.
The only downside is the proposal process, but it's not a huge obstacle. Also some freelancers tend to drive prices down, even this has not been a big inconvenience.
Through my experience with Upwork, I was able to make a career shift. Plus when my workload increased, I was able to freelancers to help out. And I don't have to worry about invoicing or payroll. It's already done.
What is most helpful about Upwork is that I can identify and accomplish straight-to-the-point assistance. Once I recognize a need, I have to put the word out, and qualified candidates bid for the project. I also like that I can review their track record and past work. It helps me make a solid decision.
The only downside of Upwork is that you have to trust the word of people you don't know in terms of past reviews. Sometimes you wish to have a referral from someone you know to ensure credibility, but this is the next best thing (because the alternative is to have no feedback at all).
Upwork helps me to fill in the gaps as a solopreneur. I simply cannot do it all and recognize that I do not have the expertise to do it all. Upwork provides the benefit of hiring for what I need when I need it. No long term committment.
Upwork allowed me to explore high-paying clients thus giving me great future. My experiences with clients is they don't look at the country of your origin. That's why they can give great hourly rate.
The thing I don't like about Upwork is the service fee is high and receiving of payments is more than 5 days even though you are top rated. But all of that is understandable given that they give great service and gives us great exposure to potential clients.
The problem in our country is low paying job for an IT professional. With Upwork, exposure to international clients give us a great future.
The ease of expressing and portraying your work to potential clients.
The amount of money spent on purchasing connects. Also, I hate it when clients don't reply to your proposals.
I work as a Freelancer on Upwork, and have worked with clients based in 11 countries. I believe this has given me the advantage to be more confident with my capabilities and engage with other clients.
