"Working with the team at Vinyl has been a refreshing experience!"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

To say the team at VINYL is patient and knowledgeable is an understatement. We haven't fully launched the new system VINYL has been building for our company. However, the demos have been impressive, and I look forward to our continued relationship with VINYL.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

The challenge faced during this initial experience is related to understanding what we do as a business. We work in a specific niche of the financial industry, so it is hard to fully understand it within a short period. VINYL did their best to make suggestions from their point of view, which added value in most instances.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are behind the times with our systems. Much of the work we perform is done manually, which is inefficient. VINYL will increase the amount of automation we have in operations and allow us to repurpose our talent to tasks that will drive our company forward.

What do you like best about Vinyl?

The most valuable part of Vinyl for us is the ability to combine multiple systems, and the customizability it provides.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

There isn't anything I can think of besides me being impatient and really wanting to use the new apps

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Vinyl has provided us with a single reporting system that streamlined us making important decisions

Jay Hornback was a great rep. and very polite and knowledgable.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

Nothing at the moment, love what I've seen.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mostly problems involving manufacturing travelers. Have an IIS app is way better than a local application.

"Operational Portal Development"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

The flexibility is very appealing. Having the ability to change UI with just a couple of keystrokes is fantastic. Also, having the ability to add/delete, and rearrange the data display quickly is a real game-changer for us.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

I don't have enough time to increase my understanding of what the total potential is for this platform

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using Vinyl as a portal for operational data entry/collection. We do not currently have an MES in place. We feel that this has the potential to bridge that gap.

"Vinyl is an excellent tool for quickly developing business applications."
What do you like best about Vinyl?

The tools and knowledge base available for learning Vinyl is quite extensive. Tutorials are well thought out and run you through real world application development.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

Vinyl is a powerful platform, but I would recommend that you have some background in application development. Some tutorials on basic dev would be beneficial.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using Vinyl to develop a suite of standardized data collection and reporting tools across our company. Productivity, as well as data accuracy, has improved by having standardized interfaces over a common database.

"Unique and Powerful Solution"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

What makes Vinyl unique is that while it is quite simple to use, only requiring a basic understanding of HTML and CSS to get started, it is very powerful. It allows almost complete customization of the user-facing content while seamlessly maintaining the back-end. This tool is fantastic for small teams, enabling team members to, in effect, become full-stack developers without diminishing the end product.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

The main downside to Vinyl is the steep learning curve for some of the more advanced features. While many of the basics are covered in the built-in LMS and are well documented in the wiki, some of the more advanced features are lacking in proper documentation. That said, their support team is very responsive and can always find a fix, even if it means pushing out a hotfix for only one person.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

My business is a growing Software as a Service company, developing software for first responders; our current focus is on emergency medical services, but we are expanding to the fire service in the future. Vinyl is allowing us to rapidly build out an application and get it into the hands of the people that need it, even with our lack of authentic coding experience. While our team has plenty of HTML and CSS knowledge, we lack in the languages that would be needed to build a standalone solution without a low-code solution like Vinyl.

"Low Code Development using Vinyl"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

Vinyl helps quickly design, build application with multiple datasource. Application work bench to build and maintain the application Quickly design, build application with multiple data source, Development of UI like Page Layout, Functionality and Menu Navigation. Defining the business rules and stage data to be displayed in UI. Aggregated objects for chart panels. Advance setting values for cmplex scenarios. Data modelling is very simpler. Docker deployment Code generatated in .net core MVC

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

More than dislikes, these are my suggestions. Not so excellent Front end multi-experience support. Need to support AR and VR. Hyper automatation support is not there. Advanced UI features like Maps support. Mobile Application development can be improvised. Testing automation and test case management can be integrated. Application development management like Microsoft Project, Agile or Jira can be supported ads par tof application workbench.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was able to build an internal employee and HR management system very quickly. Benefits. Vinyl helps quickly design, build application with multiple datasource. Application work bench to build and maintain the application Able to build applications very quickly. Build UI layer, Business logic layer and Data modelling can be built in no time with Vinyl Ease of use

"Zudy has become a valued partner"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

As someone with previous SQL experience but no direct programming experience, Vinyl took some time to get used to but now feels like second nature. The beginner training provided by Zudy gave us a solid conceptual foundation of how Vinyl works and got us kickstarted with our project early. The learning curve was pretty linear, so even a basic working knowledge of Vinyl enabled us to start meaningful development work on our project. Essentially every time we've asked ourselves "I wonder if Vinyl can do X?", we've discovered the answer is "Yes!". Connecting to external data sources via API has allowed us to integrate and automate many of our business processes that were previously manual. We have a lot of control over our UI, user base/security, and the ability to build complex reports for our clients - all of which is unavailable with our preexisting software solution. Far and away my favorite part of working with Zudy is their outstanding support. Our consultants at Zudy are unfailingly knowledgeable and helpful, and have immensely contributed to the success of our project. I love the fact that Vinyl is adding new features and capabilities all the time, so we will be able to continuously improve our application and benefit our clients by taking advantage of those features.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

The written documentation/knowledge base for Vinyl exists but it a little difficult to sift through. Since our Zudy counterparts are so responsive, this tends to not be a direct issue because we always get the answer or solution we are looking for from them, but they could spare their people some time by having documentation easier to search through.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Vinyl has made it much more efficient for us to perform extract/transform/load processes on external data. Setting up parsing rules for a new data source is much faster than our previous software solution. We are always expanding the data we synthesize for our clients, so this provides a continuous benefit. In addition, our Vinyl app will enable our organization to provide new product offerings to our clients because we can continuously develop new functionality within our apps and scale up our user base very easily.

"Excellent low code digital transformation tool for an API / data centric world"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

It's hard to choose as there are so many things I like. Chief amongst them though is the pace with which we can move from concept to working application, then iterate, iterate, iterate with our clients....whether we are creating a standalone application, or plugging in to an existing workflow that cuts across multiple systems, VINYL has our back. It's not quite Childs play but with Zudy VINYL it's heading in that direction. After 30 years of working in IT I can think of 100s of projects that would have delivered better outcomes if I'd had VINYL

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

I'm really looking forward to my mobile apps being able to work in offline mode.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Digital transformation - using VINYL as part of a flexible transition plan, but also building custom applications that deliver efficiency where legacy ERP or inflexible SaaS tools don't have the features needed to deliver organisational efficiency. In terms of benefits, we build applications at pace and can react in realtime to our clients ideas / needs. Our clients end to end processes are now joined up (no more playing pass the spreadsheet), and they have access to actionable management information in-process, directly in VINYL

"Agile portals"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

Vinyl is unbelievably quick to develop portals and (mobile) applications. It lends itself well to an agile approach and is in a class of its own. Its no-code/low-code approach lends well to progressive iterations with speed. There are a lot of products of this genre available, but few are as Enterprise-ready as Vinyl.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

The configuration UI requires some experience to become proficient. This is one area that could be simplified and improved.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

B2B business portals also rendered as mobile tools. The key benefit is being able to realise an integrated portal serving several audiences within a very short timerame.

"We believe in Vinyl!"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

Vinyl is a uniquely powerful, highly capable platform. It is relatively simple to get acquainted with and gain mastery, and has a TON of potential. We believe it is definitely worth whatever trade-offs/downsides exist. It is still young (v3.0 as of this review), but we 100% believe this is the future.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

Vinyl isn't particularly flexible - there is certainly a framework, language, and mindset to learn if one desires to maximize it. The platform isn't unlimited, and I see why Zudy doesn't market it that way. There are also a number of atypical expectations Vinyl has of the developer that, sometimes, makes basic tasks that are easy to execute (i.e. low effort & story points) outside of Vinyl significantly more difficult within Vinyl. Lastly, "low-code/no-code" is a stretch. I believe Vinyl requires at least intermediate knowledge of programming, database architecture, application development, testing, reporting, etc. to be able to enjoy its most obvious and readily accessible advantages.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

So far, we have been able to automate a few internal business processes, even entire workflows, through Vinyl.

"Great platform for rapid ideation and go to market"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

Friendly team with personal approach to account management. Their developer team is quick to identify and suggest new ways to build on the platform. Product releases are always exciting and presented well with enough notice to learn new features before rollout.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

Haven't found anything Zudy/Vinyl specific that I dislike yet, however the downside of a no-code platform in general is less flexibility in customizations, etc.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Building an enterprise app quickly, efficiently without having to hire an entire dev team in house.

"Lots of power with much smaller amount of effort than standard web development"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

What took us a over a year on normal dev we did in 2 months with much better results. Also the expand ability of the way the system is written is very impressive. The training videos are also very good and detailed. I really like how personable and down to earth the people are that I have worked with and that they listen to me and my needs. I have worked with a lot of other companies both big and small and Vinyl was able to cut through all of the b/s and simplify the end result. The system I am building is a very complex and hyper connected platform and so far, they have been able to deliver and I have high confidence that we will get to a satisfactory conclusion (tough bar from me)

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

I can be really fussy with how things look and feel for my end users and for the most part Vinyl delivers. There are a few details that I prefer be better and they are working on them.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

The goal of the system we are building will take 60 hours of paperwork and get it done in 3 hours. In order to do that we have to link many different data points with many different logic sets and variables. What many before have not been able to complete, Vinyl has and we will be able to continue to add and scale the future features and options without issue.

"Nocode Platform Which Is Helpful To Understand Quickly And Develop The Application for business"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

I like the product more than the services from the Zudy. Also there is good coordination in the services as well. They are well supported during the implementation and development phases. Few points from my view in terms of product : 1. Ease of configuration - able to get it quickly and iterate on a working product. It is a great platform to take processes that are manual reports. 2. It is best platform to integrate various databases together in one tool and develop the applications with light integration.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

1. Slightly they can do better visualization for SQL queries like tables, view and joins 2. Still they can do more tune in to handle huge datas to fetch it quicky in data objects.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have experienced the sales and purchase order issue in POS system which is impacted the realtime inventory and orders in the warehouse, but it get sorted out after migrated to vinyl .It is handling easily all the data together to populate the information in UI without having performance issue Benifits : 1. Product functionality and performance such as Connecting with Different data sources and integrating them for Data Analytics is the most important way in vinyl platform 2. No code platform is one of the key factors which makes bridge between developers and zudy tool to develope the application by using vinyl. 3. We have integrated data from various systems like SAP , JDA and ORACLE POS together in one platform to develope the application as per the business convenience. 4. We can move as a package quickly to production without after completion of development in zudy

What do you like best about Vinyl?

The application will allow us to gather complicated information from our customers and portray it in an easy, user friendly manner, overall enhancing user experience.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

The process to get the app off the ground has been slower than what I expected, but not as a result of Vinyl or Zudy (software provider has been slow to respond).

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating a better user experience and streamlining our internal processes are first priorities. We believe that by using the platform internally when creating new accounts, the process should actually be easier for our staff to use than our current routing software.

What do you like best about Vinyl?

It enables us to avoid Sage customization by creating processes outside of Sage

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

It does not automatically update the information from Sage, it needs 24 hours to update.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

Enables us to create processes for accounting and logistics outside of Sage which makes some customer billing possible, otherwise it would have been almost impossible to handle.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

"Good low code framework for applications"
What do you like best about Vinyl?

Form/page design is very intuitive and easy to manage.

What do you dislike about Vinyl?

Some inconsistencies based on display resolution (some grid views will truncate columns rather than provide horizontal scroll bars). Additionally, it would be helpful to be able to create database views from within the IDE.

What problems is Vinyl solving and how is that benefiting you?

We've been able to build apps that fill in the gaps that aren't covered by our ERP system.
