Fast & low-code development for common cases - forms, reports, user authorization, integration. Easy DB management with good functionality. Reusable elements.
If you need something special, then you have to add real code in JS. No event handling ability in forms. Not enough functionality for UI design. Working with triggers need to improve.
The fast development Integration between external systems Data access control
The most helpful things about Caspio are that the options are endless for what I can create. Once I learned my way around datapages and tables I was able to create unique forms for my company that providing the helpful solutions we needed.
It did takes some practice to learn how to best utilize Caspio but once I got some practice in, I got better and better at making forms.
I'm able to solve form issues and create unique solutions for my team members when they have new ideas for information they want to capture.
The 'no code' environment is amazing. We can make changes to data pages with ease, preview them, and see if the change we did works, and then re-tweak it to make sure it's correct. It is reasonably fast and doesn't seem to bog down much at all.
It is hard to find developers who understand all of the ins and outs of Caspio. While the basic stuff has a very small learning curve, finding where to do things *, i.e., lookup tables*, calculated fields, and some other platform nuances, are unique and challenging. Even 'seasoned' and experienced Caspio developers have issues at times that are frustrating to resolve. The Caspio support is helpful in most cases, but sometimes they are not as thorough as they should be. In our particular case, we had a unique authentication issue. We had written support and got a very dismissive and vanilla answer to the problem. Our three developers could not resolve it for the life of them, and it was causing issues with registering our users. As our business is growing dynamically, this is problematic. Luckily for us, we got a new account rep, and she just happened to 'check-in on us' when taking over for a colleague. She was AMAZING. She tasked a senior developer who did a screen share with us not 24 hours later, and we resolved a HUGE issue in less than an hour. Overall, it is a great platform, but even those familiar with it are not completely familiar with it, and at times you will need to find a good support liaison to solve some issues. Caspio is great in many ways. One more thing that is a bit disappointing is their front-end tools/widgets. IF Caspio could integrate something like JOT FORMS front end-user tools, it would be hands down the best solution ever. You can use javascript for some of these things, but that typically brings in yet another developer. Ugh..
Health care-related EHR systems issues and patient management. It's HIPAA compliant and, most of the time, very easy to get something working very fast.
I'm an attorney without any coding experience. I've been able to use Caspio to develop internal and client-facing tools to grow my business. The recorded tutorials and support available have made this possible---all for a reasonable price.
Some customization takes coding knowledge and skills.
We are using Caspio as a knowledge base with several different views of the information for different audiences. Caspio will replace spreadsheets for us, once and for all.
The Caspio development team has been attentive and flexible in helping create custom applications to meet current needs. The team is always very responsive in communications and relatively swift in development.
The Caspio development team is put together after initial meetings with the front end marketing and scoping teams. So, there are a lot of conversations and details discussed up front with people who were not part of the group I ultimately ended up working with on projects to whom I had to re-explain details or fill in gaps about the bigger picture. I understand why this happened but felt like some things were lost in translation by not having all parties present for these conversations.
I have worked with the Caspio development team to create applications that do not currently exist in the marketplace. So, the benefits have been that they will help develop solutions to align with business practices instead of requiring stakeholders to change business practices to align with their solutions like most out-of-the-box vendors.
Caspio has the capability of creating apps with almost no coding
Although it is a no code platform it still requires a lot of time to get trained on how you can make use of the platform
Saves a lot of time, doesn’t require a developer, it’s mainly a DIY
I really enjoy the Caspio user interface/use experience. It allows color coordinating, data field matching, and more to ensure your custom database is aligned in one dashboard.
In the past, some data fields misaligned- but their support was quick to ensure everything was fixed.
I use Caspio to do manual email campaigns with intent data. It was great to be able to centralize all of my data into one dashboard. Being in sales/marketing, I do not have a coding background so Caspio made it simple to get my job done with easy to use tools.
I love that I can easily and quickly create custom custom forms that are incredibly complex, and can tie several together in interesting ways. I can do this without hiring a programmer, and I can create backend forms to manage the data collected. I don't know what I'd do without this product. It has allowed me to turn around jobs in a couple of hours instead of a couple of weeks.
A couple of minor bugs (improper nesting) have cropped up in the latest versions, and they're breaking my dropdown menus on my WordPress site. Caspio fixed the first one once I reported it, and I only noticed the second instance today. Also, while the logic capabilities on the form are better than anything else I've seen, I wish I had even more options. For instance, I'd like to be able to make an "Other" field both appear (from a hidden state) and then be required if the user selects "Other" in the dropdown menu above it. I can make it appear only if "Other" is selected, but I can't do that AND make it required. Also, there's an annoying issue where users' uploads are cleared if they get an error on form submission. They usually don't notice that they need to re-attach their files.
Super-quick turn-around times, no need to learn PHP or another scripting language. Ability to customize the appearance with stylesheets that I can set myself.
It is easy to set up and the support is great.
We wanted to digitalize a manual process that involved emailing three individuals for approvals but it would triple our Capsio monthly cost.
Moving on-premise DB to cloud and automating processes.
Caspio is an easy-to-use platform to create data-based web applications. I love how fast I can develop solutions for our clients. I like how the development works, separated in DataPages, Tables, Authentications etc. For a simple solution, no coding is necessary, but I like it that I can also add some custom HTML, CSS, and JS when needed.
In some applications, I find Caspio to be somewhat limited. I had to use Javascript many times to create some logics that I couldn't, using the stock Caspio functions. This kind of goes against the No-Code / Low-Code philosophy. Talking about Triggered Actions, I find it really useful, but the Cascading limit limits the creation of complex logics
In our company, we use Caspio to create solutions for Data Acquisition, Data Editing, and Treatment. Caspio also allows us to integrate our solutions with other tools via its API, which works really well.
Caspio is helpful for building my organization's applications without the need to write codes for them. It enables me to utilize its pre-configured blocks for creating enteprise-level applications. It replaces the coding experience of developers with simple action items which are more user-friendly, convenient and straightforward.
It's very simple to understand & use the existing code designs, and I can make use of its hassle-free drag and drop features instead of writing multi-line codes to establish my database applications. I don't find anything that I dislike about Caspio.
It's always challenging and complex when I have to configure a bulk information repository framework since I need to consider multiple config items. Caspio helps me to design structured and quick database applications which have up-to-date records for my data analysis and custom reporting needs. The database query execution is also simplistic and ensures the consistency of my source table. It's easy to implement and maintain our business data management & other sB systems, thanks to Caspio. It optimizes waste space issues and increases the probability of resolving code-related defects and discrepancies within its framework. This is feasible thanks to its splendid GUI builder to design & customize our database applications which are always up to the mark of our customer's expectations.
Caspio has been a simple process to build and follow an application.
For our particular application, the most trying issue has not been the application itself but how our employee completed the setup.
Customized portal our affiliates can utilize registering customers and appointments.
Pretty easy to use for simple tasks and applications.
The price keeps going up and up, and the features are more and more lacking. The new App Extensions is a slap in the face to customers. They say that Caspio is a 'No Code' platform, but that is hardly the case. You do not need coding knowledge if you want basic, bare-bones, 2010-style applications. If you want anything remotely close to looking up to date with current standards and practices, or want something like a Gantt chart, you will either need to know an extensive amount of coding or pay a hefty amount for their ' professional services'.
It is nice having everything be accessible via the web. It is nice to have the ability to have our employees go to a website and submit a form from their cellphone. Basic things like this is what Caspio is really good for.
Nothing - it is very unuser friendly, and the customer support is worse.
The customer service - the product is slow, glitchy and they will not allow you to leave the contract even if the product sucks.
Customer services - I have received no benefits.
After being reassured several times that my use case was "simple" and shouldn't take long to implement I decided to move forward with subscribing. Needless to say that was not the case.
Aggressive sales team called with the promise of incorporating Caspio as database that would replace Microsoft Access and Excel. Heaving Data wrangling proved to be impossible on the platform.
Systematizing Marketing Efforts with prospects
We liked some of the basic features of Caspio, but most of its other promises left much to be desired.
We're not sure what Caspio offers to companies, but compatibility with Wordpress is not among them. We were told by their sales team that there were multiple ways, including plugins and API’s that would allow us to integrate our Wordpress site. In fact, there aren’t. For example, the limit on their API calls per month would not run our app for a day. Neither of these limitations were mentioned by their sales staff, even after repeated questioning about the costs from our CEO. We had a fully working, functioning prototype in our old database we demo’d for the Caspio sales staff and they claimed they could match all the functionality. In fact, nearly every promise they made was specifically disproven, and, the solution seemed very limited. It’s UI features left a lot to be desired. In the end, we spent over $60k and 9 months before abandoning Caspio. We finally realized the “rathole” was simply not ever going to work. Every Caspio workaround caused another problem. Their sole resolution was to have their technical staff work with our development team. Each time, they failed to create a reliable workaround. We finally had to walk away from tens of thousands in development costs because we figured out their routine— stonewall until their technology could catch up. It never could. And, tell us that we could upgrade (again) to get “that” feature. In the end, this wasn’t true. We upgraded and still, it would not do something simple. Caspio is good at marketing, and willing to sell you anything. But its a rudimentary, overpriced solution. We ended up with Filemaker again (our old database). It’s newer versions are substantially more compatible, and Web friendly than SAS-based Caspio. Go figure?
We were trying to use Caspio as a web-based -platform. All what we got from it, however, was buggy Eye Frames.
This product is easy to use. I was able to create a searchable database very quickly and efficiently with Caspio. I was also able to customize the search page and make it accessible on my website. It has made my job so much easier. It is one of the best products that I use currently. I am glad that I found them!
I am currently using the free version and wish there were more options available; however, when I upgrade to pro, those options will become available to me. I honestly really love everything about Caspio
Caspio is making our services and product creation more streamlined for our backend users. We are using this internally right now, and it has made searching for what we need so much easier and more efficient. It has saved us significant amounts of time and effort.
What stands out most to me about Caspio is their amazing support. They are responsive and knowledgeable and feel like a partner who is as invested in your success as you are.
There is nothing I dislike about Caspio. My experience has been absolutely incredible from beginning to end.
Caspio allowed us to build a tool for our members that has been discussed for years in our organization. Caspio provided a solution that was easy to use and allowed us to provide this valuable search tool to our membership more simply than we could have otherwise.
Caspio client since 2009 when as a small business owner, I wanted to develop a searchable database with online submit forms. At the time, there were few options for someone with very limited IT and no coding experience. Caspio was affordable, offered the platform and informational tutorials that allowed me to do that. That database is still being used. There have been modifications over the years but it has been very reliable with no issues. Everyone at Caspio has always been friendly, willing to help and knowledgeable whenever I have had questions. Their kindness and patience in explaining things at a novice level was and is very much appreciated. I recently contacted customer service, Kurk was prompt, eager to help, answered my questions and went the extra mile to assist me. Caspio offers the type of customer service that you hope to receive but rarely do with most companies today.
I have found nothing to dislike about Caspio.
Being able to develop a searchable database and submission forms without coding experience.
The clickable interface and flexible tools are easy to use. There are many online resources available to learn how to use the Caspio tool. Most questions can be answered through the online help.
The formatting, if you really pay attention to stylistics (fonts, sizes, positioning) still requires some degree of coding. I was able to develop a workable database but struggled on the final 20 percent of formatting the output as I needed coding assistance.
I am developing a database for subscription. Caspio is flexible and extremely cost-effective in helping to make the data available to a wider audience with ease and simplicity
