Unclaimed: Are are working at GIMP ?
The Gnu Image Manipulation Project, or GIMP, is a well-known alternative to Photoshop, given its affordability and similar features, including the ability to work with professional layers and fine-tune snap functionality. GIMP has a full photo editing interface available which you can customize to suit your needs. It features photo enhancement features that allow users to fix perspective distortion and explore filters. Digital retouching tools are also available, and users can save work in multiple file formats, including PNG, TIFF, and GIF. Because the GIMP environment is powered by a community of developers, you can expect a lot of regular updates and new features as well.

The translator called GIMP is an image editing program. . What I like most about this program is that it is free. The free softwares are usually simple and with few functions. But with GIMP this is not the case. It has almost the same functions as the paid Photoshop program. Finally what I also like is that it is easy to download and has a portable version.
As I said before, GIMP is a spectacular program but like any program it has its advantages and disadvantages. The first disadvantage that I can observe is in the portable version that GIMP offers. This version takes a long time to start and install. Another thing I do not like is that being a free program does not update as a paid program could update.
284/5000 The problems we solve with the GIMP are several. We use this program at the beginning and it helps us save time and effort since it does not require any type of advanced knowledge. We use this program in our company to make all the banners and logos on our pages.
It allows me to edit my images freely, with layers functionality, and a complete set of functions, at no cost.
Sometimes it is not so easy to use, and has not many filters.
I edit images, scale, crop, adjust brightness and contrast, make compositions, remove backgrounds, mix images, remove unwanted parts...
It's free, it works fine and has a lot of documentation on the web.
The interface is not the best. But with tutorials, you can get how to use.
Photo edition, creating of posts for social media.
I use GIMP daily and it is my go to software for editing, adjusting and creating images for my blogs, social media and films. There are a lot of options to adjust, enhance and be creative.
The learning curve is a little steep if you are inexperienced with the software. Luckily there are many tutorials online.
In my business, I often need creative imagery for stories on my various blogs. GIMP helps be create these with relative easy.
To me, this is the most complete open source alternative to Photoshop. If you are confortable with image editing, have the time to learn the tool and have the basics of digital image and picture edition theory, this is the tool for you. Free, open source, very powerful. There is a version for Linux and Windows, it can work with all of the usual image formats: png, jpg, bpm, gif. It has filters, effects, layer and channel edition capabilities.
If you are a newcomer, it is very easy to get lost on the screen, instead of having only menus yoy get a lot of subwindows that either you close and cannot find out how to show them again or they use vital on screen space and leave you a very small working surface. Translation of menu labels or options are not entirely correct between languages versions. You can get lost when moving from english to spanish and viceversa.
Image edition, logo creation, digital photograph improving. Resize and apply filters to images. Digital pictures can be enhanced. You can design websites and digital prints with the aid of rulers and layers.
Free and easy to use. This tool can replace is way powerful than ms paint. It is available on all platform (Windows, Linux, Mac).
Need some time to adapt to the tool. It is not so long. The interface is getting a little bit heavy. Keep it simple please.
Cropping sizing ... It provides everything for pictures modification. The interface is the same whatever the platform i am using.
i like the layer manipulation tools they are easy to use
there isnt very good auto fix type of tool on it for doing editing its alot of manual work
its working great for doing the signage designs its really easy to mix up the signs to reflect current promotions
GIMP has all the features from Photoshop! You can use it as a very basic image editor, or get into very advanced photo editing. There is a large community online to help with issues, and best part: it's free! No need to give up a lot of cash on Photoshop when GIMP does the trick.
The command line support is very confusing in my opinion. Try to write a batch process is nightmarish. May not be a concern for some people, but I regularly need to process a lot of images. I thought I could write a simple batch job, but it proved more difficult than I thought. Also, opening a file using CNTL+O (on windows) brings up a dialog that is not easy to understand. I found it difficult to use it to navigate to the folder I need. The developers and designers should rework this dialog box to make it more intuitive.
Most problems are solve are cropping, scaling, and overall editing of high-res images. Depends on the business requirements. But I like the plethora of options. Whatever I need to do, I can get done.
