"Worst Transfer support"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

I had seen there many offers such as domain @ ₹99 and ₹399, Hosting at ₹ 59 was been surprised by the offer and purchased one of the domain with them. It was great to have a domain name with them.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Only one thing I came bad experience with them when I tried to move from Godaddy to another service provider. Domain name transfer was trying to do so I had checked with all the formalities and done the procedure 4 months prior the expiry date but went unsuccessful so I tried 2 times but then also it was not done. so I had raised a ticket they said we didn't receive any request, but when I explained to them that I had used your private key towards new service provider and they had sent you a request for transfer, but you rejected that. so I had raised another support ticket with ICANN and then after that Godaddy executive called me for retention but I said I am fed up and then that person just hung the call on me. Soon after the complaint, it has been transferred to it within 4 days.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Nothing has solved my problem while transferring the domain name. Thanks to ICANN I got it done.

"Not the best email platform"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy is a user-friendly email platform in that it is extremely simple and easy to use. However, due to its simplicity, it lacks a lot of the more advance features that other email platforms can provide.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy does not offer many features compared to other email platforms and is too simple/not able to customized for user preferences. I disliked using GoDaddy so much that I created a separate Gmail account and linked it to my GoDaddy for better ease of use. There were also many issues that arose while using GoDaddy with connecting to the right server; I also had issues linking it to my Gmail occasionally, which forced me to check my GoDaddy separate from my Gmail.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not many benefits that I can think of that other email platforms don't already provide.

"Terrible Customer Service and Product Support"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

Price was a good selling point and platform is great for new bloggers with very little traffic or Ads.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

>Horrible Customer Service >Terrible managed wordpress hosting >They do not take ownership of issues caused by their hosting platforms >They do not provide effective tech support >They blame all issues with sites on the site coding or uploaded plugins >They do not stand behind the services they sell

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

>Zero benefits > After 2 months of calls I finally got to speak with a Manager about all the issues happening on my site and the site being down all the time. He blamed all the site downtime and speed issues on my site coding and plugins. Multiple calls were placed and the issues were never resolved. Downtime became excessive. Calls to the center were in excess of 8 hours a week for 2 months in 2017 (January and February). Decided to leave the plan and asked for a refund or a credit to use the unused part of the money for other services with GoDaddy and although 2 other customer service representatives approved it - this manager went in and denied it indicating they would only allow me to move to a more expensive plan - I was not allowed to have a credit on file for the 2.5 years of unused hosting in my 3 year prepaid plan ($3000.00 or SSL certificate which did not work from the first day they added it). I had to leave their hosting to get my site back up and running and to remove the stress and time wasted on calls with them trying to fix it - and since leaving without adding or removing anything from the site design, plugins or coding my site is working 100% of the time at less than 5 seconds to load (more than 25 seconds to load with GoDaddy) and I have been with the new host for almost 1 year now with zero downtime.

"Just say NO!"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy has a terrific marketing department who has done well to promote the services. The fact that a user can purchase both the domain and hosting in one location makes GoDaddy seem like the perfect solution.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Everything about GoDaddy is about them up-selling you. My websites were constantly down or crashing because of "too much traffic". (I can assure you that my websites did not receive that much traffic, much to my chagrin). Whenever I needed to call in to get my services back up and running, GoDaddy's support was more interested in having me upgrade to another plan in order for my website to get back up and running. Or they would try to tell me I NEEDED another service added on to my plan. The sales tactics are cheap and exhausting to deal with when as a small start-up, I'm stretched to my limits already by the time I call in.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Aside from still having one domain registered with GoDaddy., none I switched from GoDaddy to a new service and have not experienced a single problem since. (It has been 3 years)

"I wish I had better things to say... "
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

I like the robust all-in-one for your domain and hosting needs. I liked when I was on a company plan level and had a dedicated support/account representative.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

It's not even kind of user friendly. It takes way to many clicks to get anywhere. The pop-ups and upsales make me feel harassed. Some of the pictures are pretty strange too... If you don't have an account representative, count on waiting quite a while to get any support - but realize that you're going to have quite a few voicemails from their sales team trying to upsale you on products.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Domains, SSLs, hosting. The benefit is that it's something I know which makes it easier to get through.

What do you like best about GoDaddy?

They all speak clear English. Its fun to say GoDaddy

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

They draw you in with big discounts and substandard inefficient services. Then when you call in because you have issues their solution is always to upsell you on another package and never actually resolve the problem.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

They host my domains

"Better email systems out there "
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

I didn't actually like godaddy because I felt they there were other email systems that were much more effective than godaddy. But I did appreciate that there was a simple app that we could run

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

I hated how complicated the system was. Sending an email was difficult

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used godaddy mainly as a fork of communication. Basically an email system

"Only useful if you need access to new Top Level Domains"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

The only thing I like about GoDaddy is having access to the new domain extensions and being able to reserve domains before they come about.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Pretty much everything. Constantly being bombarded with Ads, upselling, and terrible interface. Support is terrible as well. They try to make as much money as possible, such as making the customer pay for domain privacy.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Purchasing one of those brand new TLD/domain extensions. The only thing I like about GoDaddy.

"GoDaddy Major Security Risk"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

You can easily grab a domain. That's pretty much it.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy is the worst platform. I am trying to update a website for a client. GoDaddy knowingly admits they have servers running php v4, and that their virtual environment is open to other security risks like DDoS attacks, hacks, SQL injections, etc., but they refuse to do anything about it. If you want to run a simple Wordpress site, or other CMS system, it will not function properly with anything lower than php 5.6 if you plan to have any current functionality from current versions of WP itself, themes or plugins. Additionally, refusing to update their server environment leaves every client on these servers in jeopardy. They do this because they want the customer to upgrade to a more expensive VPS plan, which simply isn't needed for a small website. They are a total scam and they will happily put anyone's website at risk for their own financial gain.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

None - moving to a new hosting platform.

"Decent service level but terrible promotional policies"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy is a solid hosting service and domain name company. I use their Shared Linux Hosting service, and it's much more straightforward and convenient than setting up my own servers in the Cloud.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Where to begin. First, they entice you in with a great promotional offer, but then once you've built your site, they jack up the prices, knowing that it'll be too costly for you to move. Second, they eliminated promotion codes for renewals. That's the only thing that made their exorbitant renewal rates in the past bearable. I've since gone to NameCheap, whose regular renewal rates are lower than even GoDaddy's promotional prices used to be. Third, their shopping cart is full of bloat as they try to nickel-and-dime you to add on services you don't need. I feel for the poor uneducated consumer who ends up buying a bunch of them. Fourth, their customer service is hit-or-miss. There are some reps who really know there stuff, while I've ended up having to teach basics to others myself.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

Website hosting and domain name registration. The cost comes at a premium since they build "idiot-proof" tools for those who can't set up servers or configure DNS themselves, but it does make things easier for even those who do know their stuff.

"One of the poorest web hosting experiences"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy often offers exceptional promotional prices that can seriously tempt you to use their services. Additionally, the few times I've had to call them for support they've had top notch over-the-phone support. I mean really excellent. The phone was picked up almost immediately by a human, and they very quickly resolved my issue.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

It has to be the least focused, and most convoluted hosting service I've every used (and I've used everyone on the block). You can do everything with GoDaddy, and because of that you can do nothing. Each product appears to be handled by an entirely different product team – heck they seem like they are all handled by different companies GoDaddy acquired over the years. Additionally, when the promotional offers are over their pricing is often above market value, even on somewhat standard things like domain hosting.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

They do have a proxy services for foreign domains that has allowed us to easily register domains in Europe. Contracting these services can be expensive, but through GoDaddy it is relatively cheap

"It's Nightmare When My Clients Host on GoDaddy"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

It's nice that GoDaddy can register one of the widest range of TLDs in the business. There's really not much to like about GoDaddy hosting except the price point and unlimited bandwidth.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Hosting is slow, hard to customize and the shared hosting inevitably has problems with root access. They have gotten a little better over the years, especially the interface, but as a developer they aren't really adding much value. They had a confusing array of upsales to all their products. Once you start using them you see that the deals are too good to be true -- or useful. You get what you pay for.

What problems is GoDaddy solving and how is that benefiting you?

I develop websites and apps for clients who choose GoDaddy as their host or for domain registration. I use GoDaddy myself for some domain registrations, but have been migrating my domains recently.

"Mediocre hosting, frequent limitations"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

GoDaddy is the 800lb gorilla in hosting. They are a massive commodity host, and the service and price reflect that. However, as far as price goes, it's not a great value. But you can be sure they can scale with you and can handle anything you throw at them.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

They tend to have pretty stringent limitations on the shared hosting side. I've run into many situations where they throttle DB resources so much it kills the site performance. They also seem to over-provision and over-sell.

"Terrible Web Builder: GLITCHES & POOR DESIGN - Free Ones Are Better"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

Nothing. Half the features are average at best so could be oneupped by almost any other free builder. I got stuck with this when I bought the domain and there's been endless problems importing the domain into a better service.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

It constantly needs to be reloaded to show new work or fix glitches, you are forced to choose from a preset design and undoing all of that work takes a few days. The design of the background page is confusing if not glitched out at all times- this results in the website not being centered and scrolling gets weird. When you widen the web browser, one side lengthens faster than the other and this contributes to being off-center. The previewer is not accurate, so when you look at your published site you will find text is off-put from the boxes they are in, and the whole design is cut off on one side. There is no option for mobile formatting, so it looks even worse on a phone. Inserting pictures is a mess. You have so many complicated adjusters and it takes a long time to get it right, you have to go back and forth between different editing modes on pictures and it's insane. There is no way to group text with their boxes, or widgets together. So as you move parts of it around, you have to move every individual box. Most of the tools are so basic and poorly designed that you need to invent creative solutions, but most of those creative solutions are not an option in the builder, which means using their HTML widget for most of the site. You mine as well design it from scratch.

"Can't Be Gone from Go Daddy"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

The website tonight is fast and easy to use. The email function for your domain is well done. The value for the price is excellent. You can create a great looking website in a very short period of time without a ton of expertise. That is a great position to hold.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Leaving Go Daddy was like a nightmare except I couldn't wake up and say to myself, "Don't worry, it was only a dream." Far and away it was the hardest, most obstacle laden process I have ever experienced. They made it hard for me to prove that I was me. When they finally accepted that I was in fact me, they would either lose the paperwork I submitted or delayed in some fashion so that I could continually be billed. It was the most exasperating exit process I have experienced. Even after I finally closed the credit card to which my account was tied they did not relent. I understand customer retention. I don't understand customer harassment if you are trying to leave.

"Cheap, but not worth it. Poor value, poor reliability, poor UI."
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

Occasionally have attractive domain name sales... but only to get you in the door. Be prepared to pay much more at renewal time. They've also got cheap hosting... but again, just to get you in the door. Once they've got the hooks in, they will nickel and dime you.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

Used them for hosting a couple times. Their servers are terribly overloaded, especially their database servers. Page load times would creep into 30, 40, 50 second range, triggering constant alerts from monitoring services that thought the sites were down. Sometimes the sites would give out altogether. Switched to another hosting provider and the pages consistently load in 1-2 seconds with much less downtime. They also nickel and dime you for everything... especially on the email side. You're limited to 250 SMTP relays per mailbox per day unless you buy more. Domains don't come with privacy - be prepared to pay extra for that. The control panels (at least when I used them a year or two ago) are disjoined and unintuitive, and look they were all designed by different people with no awareness of what anyone else had already built.

What do you like best about GoDaddy?

Their marketing. They are probably the best known domain provider due to their size and slick advertising. How many other domain name management companies advertise at the Superbowl (coming from a Brit based in London!)

"Creepy Uncle of Hosting"
What do you like best about GoDaddy?

They have a great web front end for first time users! Pretty much nothing else.

What do you dislike about GoDaddy?

From the get go, GoDaddy gives that feeling of a car salesman wearing a cheap suit. Every time I finish the checkout process I feel dirty and used. After being asked 30 times to upgrade or purchase some sort of up-sell, I just want to format my computer and forget with a bottle of wine. This is just the purchasing experience, right? Their actual service can't be this bad if they are the #1 in many lists... Just a few days ago they had a "prolonged outage". Their website was down along with anyone that uses their terrible DNS servers. Servers are slow and outdated. DNS isn't reliable. You get sales calles once a month for things you dont need. Their support personel are rude and sound annoyed when you call. They also supported internet censorship. When Wikipedia blacked out a few months ago there was a massive GoDaddy boycot that I (and my entire company) joined in.
