In this Jasper AI review, we’re exploring the features, functionality, and benefits of a popular artificial intelligence writing tool. In recent years, companies have rapidly begun to leverage the benefits of AI for multiple processes and operations.
Around 91.5% of leading businesses say they invest in AI on an ongoing basis. However, studies show the majority of these companies are focused on harnessing AI for cybersecurity, compliance, customer service, and support.
AI writing tools have become mainstream, with platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini alongside specialized tools like Jasper. These solutions are designed to empower marketing professionals and accelerate the production of high-quality content.
Jasper AI, previously known as “Jarvis”, is widely regarded as one of the best AI writing tools around. This simple solution aims to help businesses improve their writing, brainstorm ideas, and come up with new content for marketing purposes.
But is Jasper AI really as valuable as it seems? Let’s find out.

The History and Background of Jasper AI
Jasper AI was released in 2021 by CEO Dave Rogenmoser, and is backed by the same team responsible for the “Proof” software.
Previously, Jasper AI was known as both Jarvis AI and Conversion.ai. However, it’s managed to maintain an excellent brand reputation, despite a few refreshes over the years. The company has also achieved some phenomenal success in the AI market within a short period.
In 2022, Jasper raised $125 million in Series A funding, giving it a valuation of approximately $1.5 billion at the time.
Jasper promises to rapidly increase the content output of marketing companies, help them to brainstorm new ideas, and ensure they can write better in every environment. The AI solution is trained to produce high-converting copy, and all of the content produced is plagiarism-free.
How to use Jasper AI
One of things we noticed during our Jasper AI review, is that this technology is extremely straightforward to use. Although you will need to deliver specific information to the AI algorithm to ensure you’re producing the right content, there’s plenty of guidance throughout the interface to help you. Once you sign up for a plan with Jasper AI, you can create content in 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Picking the right content template in Jasper AI
Jasper AI comes with a range of templates for users to choose from, so they can focus on building the right kind of content for each platform. Each template is optimized for a different environment, use-case, or content marketing goal.
You can search through the available templates with a keyword or simply browse through the various options offered by Jasper on the dashboard. Options range from long-form content to AIDA frameworks, Facebook ad posts, and more.
Step 2: Feeding relevant information to the template
Once you’ve picked an appropriate template for your content in Jasper, the next step is narrowing down the specific information you want the content to cover. This is probably the most complicated part of using Jasper AI. You’ll need to be precise on the subjects and topics you want Jasper to cover, to ensure you’re developing the right information.
You can enter information like specific headlines or sub-headings for a blog post. It’s also worth entering information about the kind of voice you want to portray in your writing, such as “witty” or “persuasive”. Users can also include a content brief, keywords, and any other relevant information they would usually give to a blog or content writer.
Step 3: Running Jasper AI to generate content
Finally, once you’ve entered all of the correct information into the Jasper ecosystem, you can click the “Generate AI content” button. You can also choose how many versions of your content you want Jasper to produce, so you can explore different options to find the right one.
The system will start producing content at an exceptional speed, on the right-hand side of the page. You can then click into this section and start editing your content, using suggestions for grammar and spelling from Jasper to guide you.
Jasper AI Advanced Features
Jasper AI has various levels of writing support to offer, depending on the package you choose for your service. Premium plans enhance your writing experience and allow you to write up to 5 times faster.
Advanced features speed up your content pipeline by allowing you to create content largely produced by AI with light editing from you. The solution also integrates with SurferSEO.com, to ensure you can use the right keywords for your content. Plus, it works with Copyscape to check your content for plagiarism.
As an added bonus, Grammarly is also included to help improve your grammar and fix spelling mistakes rapidly. Key advanced capabilities include:
- Enhanced commands: Jasper commands allow you to deliver commands to Jasper correctly to guide the content creation process. You can tell the AI exactly what you want.
- Improved context: Jasper will consistently read your previous content before producing new output, to ensure consistency.
- Quick translation: You’ll also be able to translate your content instantly into a range of 26 different languages, without worrying about spelling errors.
What are Jasper AI Recipes?
One of the things that made our lives easier during our Jasper AI review, was using AI “recipes”. These are pre-built workflows which already include a series of specific commands designed to help you create content quickly and conveniently. You can create your own recipes, and also access new recipes shared by the Jasper community.
All of the recipes you use will be saved in your “recipes” tab in the Jasper sidebar. You can get started with recipes using the featured list available on Jasper or the suggested options created by the community. Simple click the recipe you want to use, and select “run” to create a new document using the recipe of your choice.
You can also alter your recipes however you like, making changes to keywords, tone of voice, and other valuable points.
The Quality of Jasper’s Output
One of the biggest concerns companies have about using AI for content generation, is that they won’t get the same excellence from a robot as they would from a human. First, it’s worth noting that Jasper still needs some input from a writer or marketer in order to produce the right content. In this way, it’s not a complete replacement for your marketing team.
However, if you can get the input and framework right, then Jasper can produce relatively high-quality content. The key to success is making sure you read through what’s produced carefully. Let’s look at Jasper’s performance in a few key areas:
- Flow/Coherence: Jasper will read through previous content before producing the next piece to ensure ongoing contextual coherence. However, some questions and inputs you introduce to the AI system may not be fully comprehended by the technology. The flow can get a little garbled in places if you’re not careful.
- Grammar/Spelling: Jasper is very good at maintaining good grammar and spelling throughout your content pieces. There’s also an integration with Grammarly available for premium plan users, so you can double-check any issues yourself during the editing process. This can keep your chances of mistakes to a minimum.
- Plagiarism: Jasper promises 100% original content, with absolutely no plagiarism, thanks in part to integration with Copyscape. However, you may find a little of the content sounds quite similar to what has already been produced online. Some of Jasper’s functionality does work around “rephrasing” information from other blog posts.
Who uses Jasper AI?
As mentioned above, Jasper AI isn’t an alternative for a copywriter or a comprehensive marketing team, but it can be a powerful tool for a range of use cases. Some of the people most likely to benefit from this tool based on our Jasper AI tool include:
- Bloggers and content writers who struggle to come up with new ideas for content and produce large volumes of content on a regular basis.
- Small business owners who need help creating original content reviews, scripts, and other pieces of content for marketing campaigns.
- Writers and authors looking for help creating their own novels from scratch, without having to hire a ghostwriter.
- Social media managers who need help rapidly create excellent social media posts at record speed.
- SEO experts who want assistance making sure their content appeals to the search engines and ranks correctly, thanks to integrated tools.
- Paid ad creators who need help creating ad headlines and other body content designed to capture audience attention.
Simply put, if you’re looking to automatically create better content at speed, Jasper might be a worthwhile investment. Just don’t expect the tool to do all of the work of content creation for you.
Jasper AI Integrations
Part of what makes Jasper AI such a compelling choice for today’s business owners is how effective the technology is at integrating with other critical marketing tools. The solution has its own Chrome extension, as well as various integrations for tools like:
- Surfer SEO: Jasper announced its integration with the popular on-page SEO solution, Surfer SEO in 2021. This tool helps users to create more SEO-optimized content quickly and easily. You can search for keyword opportunities, check keyword density, and ensure you’re adding the right number of links and images to your content too.
- Grammarly: Included as part of premium plans for Jasper AI, the Grammarly integration allows you to rapidly check the spelling and grammar of your content. You can look for things like tone of voice, passive language, and similar grammatical issues.
- Copyscape: To ensure your content is completely original, Jasper integrates with Copyscape, so you can look for other similar content on the web. You can check all of your output content automatically, and make sure it’s not too close to anything that already exists.
What makes Jasper AI stand out from other AI writing assistants?
Jasper AI is an excellent AI writing assistant, but it’s far from the only solution on the market. There are plenty of other leading tools out there designed to deliver similar functionality. However, Jasper does have an edge in the current market. It offers benefits most other solutions don’t, such as:
- SEO-enhanced content: Built-in SEO optimizing tools, and support for Surfer SEO makes it easier for content creators to produce pieces which are automatically optimized for the search engines. You can rapidly improve your chances of ranking higher for any keyword.
- Speed: While most AI writing tools make it quicker and easier to produce your content, Jasper’s advanced features allow you to accelerate your content production to the next level.
- Plagiarism: Although it’s difficult to say whether Jasper fully delivers on its promise to provide completely plagiarism-free content, it does help to cut down on the risk of “copied work”. Some content may be rephrased, but it will be mostly original.
- Content help: Jasper doesn’t just create content for you, it can also help you to improve the quality of your writing. There are built-in tools like the “content improver” which allow you to rephrase and rewrite specific pieces of content easily to improve their impact.
- Versatility: Jasper can write in 26 different languages, which makes it easy to reach a wider audience. At the same time, the tool comes with templates for virtually every kind of content you can think of, so you can produce writing for any purpose.
- Bootcamp: Jasper also has its own bootcamp solution which can teach you how to improve your SEO, enhance your writing, and make the most of your content solutions. This is excellent if you need extra help upgrading your content strategy.

- Plagiarism-free content with Copyscape
- Exceptional grammar-checking functionality
- AI recipes to help get you started
- 26 languages to choose from
- SEO-friendly content
- Lots of templates for different types of writing

- Some content will be simply “rephrased”

- Jasper does regularly repeat a lot of words
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, our Jasper AI review revealed that this tool could be a valuable solution for many companies struggling with content creating. It can help you to come up with unique ideas for content, and accelerate the writing process. However, it’s not the perfect way to eliminate the need for any content writers in your marketing strategy.
Jasper can improve the content produced by your team, and give you more assistance with your overall content writing plan. However, we’re not sure if it will completely eliminate the need for amazing writers in the digital marketing landscape.

Nothing. It was a waste of time after three months and $360 using Boss Mode. My experiments proved that Jarvis.ai content hurt my Google SERPs.
Worthless. If you are brain-dead, maybe it'll write something you like. Google spots this writing quickly. If you use it for articles, your Google SERPs will suffer. I did three experiments and the Jarvis-added content hurt my rankings by ~50%. I created 2,000 words for 25 New York colleges and universities for my Nursing Web site, and I did a similar test for my MBA website for California and Arizona. https://www.mbaguide.org/mba-programs/arizona/ https://www.mbaguide.org/mba-programs/california/ Then I added human-created summaries for three similar states and, after three months, compared the results. Human-created content states improved by 20% to 30% in three months. The Jarvis-created content decreased by ~50 across all three pages. Stunning. Plus, the effort to coax that writing out of Jarvis was more than it'd take me to write it myself. Lesson learned. Don't cut corners. Jarvis.ai is like a brilliant criminal in a movie that you scratch your head thinking if they just put that effort toward something helpful, they'd be great. Except for the premise of AI writing and Jarvis can never BE great or even very useful. So don't bother with Jarvis; he's criminal stealing from Wikipedia and other sources and rewriting crappy, tired phrases that, in my experience, are less than worthless. On top of that, It is an overblown piece of cultural wasteland. If you want to write, write. If you want people to respect and read your stuff, put effort into it. Otherwise, it is just more thin content with little to no value. You are better off going to upWork and hiring a high school or college student who understands context. Plus, it isn't factual at all. Ask it to write something about MBA programs, and you get Engineering or often something else. Ask it to write about a specific college in the US, and it writes about something from the UK. Give it all the facts it needs in the previous context (Boss Mode), and it makes regurgitated tripe, poorly used phrases, tired word combinations and stuff you and google have seen over and over and over. This is a catalog of all of Wikipedia. Ask it to write about COVID, and it has no idea what you are talking about, as COVID wasn't part of Wikipedia several years ago, and GPT3 hadn't been updated since then. It is a nice effort, but al AI writing for articles is not ready. And if you need it for short stuff, well, your better off exercising your brain.
Nothing. Made my SERPs worse.
After reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed a $990 charge from over a month ago from Jasper for a metered Bose Mode that I never intended to purchase or approve, nor was I ever notified by Jasper that I was going to or had been charged. Now I have to go through the long hassle of disputing this charge with Jasper and my credit card. A very deceiving practice by Jasper AI.
Jasper AI billing practices are very deceiving.
They have not solved the issue yet.
I used Jasper religiously for my opening paragraphs for content. Starting can be the hardest part. However, these trigger plagiarism checkers...so what am I paying for?
Customer service was ridiculous. Explained my problem four times to four different representatives, with no results. They double charged me for my account, once on the first of the month and again on the 31st--with no answers, explanation, or accountability! While it is a great tool for projects like brief business summaries for GBP, unless you plan on writing a 500-word-or-less blog post using completely made up "facts" as content, this tool is worthless. Been flagged for plagiarism using this tool as well, and quick Google searches reveal this tool is a giant gust of hot air not based on reality in any sense--not in billing, customer service, fact checking, or "originality." i cannot believe i paid for this product for as long as i did. If you are going for false, plagairized quantity of content without substance, Jasper is the tool for you.
I used to feel some resistance when starting the first paragraph, and Jasper alleviated that. I've since discovered that this content is not only factually inaccurate, but is not original when run through a plagairism checker. It's actively created problems for me since starting. i do not recommend.
It's better than the competitor I tried because they generate more sensible sentences although much shorter.
I was charged an additional $195 of top of a $39 charge for an added member plus the boss mode plan I already paid for $59. On their pricing page, the boss mode plan for 100,000 words just is just $89. Shouldn't I be charged just $30 more if my plan is automatically upgraded if I go over the word limit? No. And when I was asking for a refund, it says that the credits were already used. I understand that and just want the $89 pricing applied so I only get charged an additional $30. But they still refused while another said I wasn't eligible because it's past 5 days. I did contact them the day my sister's CC was charged but it takes them ages to reply (5 days for 2 replies). They deliberately reply late so they can say that reason. Super super disappointing! I have to cancel my account after just 10 days of using this because it racked up charges so quick.
Writing content but I still think it's cheaper to just use a human. The words generated aren't always on point and there have been a number of typos and grammar lapses along the way.
How easy it is to setup an overall article structure and outline.
It was a bit of a learning curve. However, with a bit of playing around, it's been extremely easy to pump out articles. Also, the Art AI service they mentioned replaces stock images. This is in fact a lie and the dimensions are for only tiny image sizes. Avoid at all costs and would be better to stick with Pexels or Unsplash for stock images.
Mindnumbing articles that need to be produced daily.
The benefit of the tool is brainstorming a title.
Jasper produces very generic content that should not be used on your blog without significant manual writing and editing. If you ask the tool to write a post that provides advice, it serves up broad, common-sense tips with no actionable detail. The generic nature of the output is the same regardless of the topic, leaving the reader to wonder how to implement the advice. If you want readers to gain real value from reading a post written by this tool, be prepared to spend serious time editing the writing. You are far better off hiring a content writer or outsourcing the task.
Jasper unfortunately doesn't solve any problems. We still need to hire content writers to produce quality content because the tool is not capable of doing it without pain-staking manual input.
I never actually got to use the product itself given their broken website, so I can't comment on their copywriting. What I can say is that their support team is very prompt, if a little unhelpful
All over Jarvis' homepage is a plug for their free trial. This is not the case and does not exist. I started signing up for the trial and was immediately brought to the pricing page, where I could choose to immediately enroll in one of their by-the-month plans. I thought that was a little odd, so I reached out to their support team to ask how to take advanage of their free trial. They responded within minutes (seriously: super impressive) with a link to the trial and a description of what the trial page should look like. I clicked the link and was taken to a page that did not look like what was described in the email. I took a screenshot and shared it with support who immediately responded and said, "Go ahead and finish signing up and inputting your card details. You won't be charged." That seemed as little odd, because nowhere on the screen did it mention not being billed. But I trusted them, clicked the new link they gave me, and finished signing up for an account. I was immediately billed the full amount, contrary to what support believed. At this point, I was frustrated and reached out asking for a refund and for my account to be closed. They responded immediately with a refund and cancalled my account. That's great, and I appreciate how prompt they are, but it felt odd that they didn't even address their broken free trial, or the fact that they don't understand how their own website works. They may have offshore support staff, which is totally fine and great -- but I think they need to be trained a little better on how the site works. Ultimately I would've loved to have tried the product, but I never got a chance. And give how much of a hassle just signing up for a trial was, I don't trust them with my money or to build a product that would need to be as complex as Jasper claims to be. I may revisit it in a year or two to see if it's developed any furuther but, all-in-all, Jasper was a really frustrating experience only made better by very attentive support staff.
I was curious if Jasper would be able to speed up the process of creating first drafts of marketing content. Unfortunately I never got a chance to test that possibility.
That it exists. AI tech will come far in the future.
I dislike that for me it wasnt obvious that the number of words is limited. Most of the time I dod not like what the AI wrote, so I tried to let it reformulate 5-10times. After an hour of work, not credits/words were left. Meaning when serious work should be done, the already expensive plan gets even more expenisve.
Benefits are that you dont have to write every single word. Give the AI your ideas, it will formulate sth in decent wording.
So the tool itself works ok, however, the best feature is it connects with SurferSEO. It gets facts wrong a lot, wrong dates, and other factual stuff completely wrong. Some of the content it produces is very poor.
What absolutely terrible customer service. This company charged my card $358 CAD vs $59 normally because the account went over a word limit, and somebody decided to implement a 'feature' that auto upgrades you to the next tier which was rough 5x the existing fee. I never even had knowledge of this at all! No email, no notification in the app or anything! It just upgraded it by 500%. The next day after complaining, they refunded me this amount, but then decided to block access to the account! Absolutely mental! Now I have content that was being edited I can no longer access, so this company has stolen content from me. They probably have some weird TOS that state they own it, but they don't. This is probably the most bizarre app and support I have ever used in my life. A while back I also noticed some random users in the account using the app, after notifying their 'support' they just brushed it off. What other app will auto-upgrade your account without you basically knowing and then shut you down for complaining!!? Who gives these frauds the right to do this? I have about $1000 worth of content lost now.
I got this tool to speed up content production with my team of writers, that is what problem it was supposed to solve. The benefits are that you can get Jarvis/Jasper to write content on auto-pilot.
I use this tool a lot for social media copy but also for prompts to help me get started on my scripts for YouTube. It is a really clever tool and there are so many use cases for it.
I have not yet found anything I didn't like. Overall I think it is a very smart tool. It is really amazing what this technology can do.
If I get a content idea block or I need a prompt to start writing Conversion.ai helps me a TON get rolling on the copy.
