I personally can't live without notion for my daily planning and always recommend it to friends, it's very flexible and amazing as a draft for my ideas and planning

The only situation where I don't recommend notion is when planning tech projects. Because it's very easy to delete or edit something by mistake, which happened to me when I started working with a tech team that used notion and accidentally clicked on something and was truely panicked.. it ended up that I made a page from template although I didn't know what that means at that time

It's like a repo for all my planning, ideas, learning, references.. literally everything in one place in a tidy and easy manner. No scattered plans on Word or Excel files everywhere that I would forget where I left a few days later.

- Love having everything in one place. - In active development. - Easy to onboard.

- Very mouse-heavy. There are keyboard shortcuts but they're underpowered.

- Notion is giving me a place to have all of our company info in one spot. That includes project management and documentation. This enables ease of sharing information across multiple teams.

Notion is extremely flexible. It's easy to see exactly what's going on at each stage of a project.

The calendar won't export to Google calendar.

Editorial scheduling, organization, and assignments. Notion helps us stay in touch and allows us to easily pass projects to the next person/stage in the chain.

Ease of content creation and more importantly, modification. Ex. turn a bunch of stuff into a sub-page in a couple of clicks, drag content to another page, convert between different types (ex. bullet list to checklist), reorder content by dragging, etc. Quickly sharing pages with others even if they don't have a notion account (ex. artists we want to commission). Also, databases are life.

Out of the top of my head - Limited security (no 2-factor auth of any kind). - Being able to quickly save a reference from the web is amazing, not having a way to save the images permanently (instead of simply embedding them) is less so. - Not being able to backup/export my personal and professional workspaces separately. - Very limited colour palette for things like tag colours - please add more! - I now hate all other software that doesn't allow me to reorder paragraphs by dragging them. - Limited support for diagrams. - I'm sure I'll remember something else after submitting this form - feel free to contact me later.

It's like a 2nd brain - I can offload pretty much everything into it, from references to project ideas to the actual project design and production. I can also tinker with the structure until I'm happy with it and it doesn't have to be the same for all projects.

Notion makes it very easy to write documentation and provides a distraction-free experience. It is the best tool which I have used till now for writing documents and also for small database which can be quickly linked with other documents within Notion.

As an org admin, there are currently no analytics about the usage of the product by other members. I also think they can work on their pricing by not charging for those users who are not using Notion just like Slack.

Keeping things documentation and readily available for search is something which Notion solves very well. Its really easy to make changes and mention people in Notion and by default it provides a very clean, readable experience for the content created within Notion

The best part is to you can make a template for daily works, quick notes for day-to-day tasks, also we can make a journal for our own purpose. After Evernote, I found this tool is much better. We also can make a database of our work which is a plus point.

Notion is a great platform for brainstorming because it allows some simple input to change into different modalities (to do lists, schedules, etc.) super easily

The flexibility can be its own enemy at times as things become a pretty tangled web. Higher level org features might help with that? Not sure. Happy as is though.

We're in the beginning stages of a project and it allows all of us to create our own individual processes and then link to one another when necessary. That flexibility keeps us from having to create some fanatical overhead process everyone has to follow.

Full customization of my systems and processes. I love that Notion doesn't prescribe how to use Notion. It can be custom-tailored to each unique situation. Master databases and relational properties are amazing.

Sharing can be tricky when it comes to master databases where I want to have some information visible but ultimately the rest of the database private. I would love for sharing to be more intuitive to both me and the people I am collaborating with.

Project and task management, time tracking, tracking books I've read and reading recommendations, sites and articles I want to revisit, quotes I like, recipes, note-taking, journaling.

Notion is a great product for knowledge work - as a matter of fact, it's the only one I recommend to my friends to this day. All the tools you need are there and easy to use - but if you need advanced solutions, Notion does some pretty nifty things too. It's a great tool for project management and cooperation. Creating databases, keeping records, expanding the team's knowledge pool - it does everything an advanced tool like Atlassian can, but way more intuitive. Notion also works great for personal projects. I used Evernote for that before, and it annoyed me to no end with clunky UI, limited functionality, and weird design choices. Notion does everything I hoped Evernote would, and you don't need to navigate a slow and clunky interface to do it. Had you asked me for this review a few months back, it would've been an easy 10/10. Since then, I did discover a part of Notion that I passionately dislike: the billing. Notion uses seat-based plans, meaning there is a certain number of users per paid plan. Go over that, and you get upgraded - standard stuff. But what it doesn't really clarify is that everyone you invite to cooperate - even a person who left one comment in a marketing plan - is counted towards that cap. There is no warning, you simply get billed on the spot. Even worse, you don't get any kind of banner or email after the upgrade. Your card simply gets billed. There is a very narrow cancellation window, so if you don't notice the extra charge in time - you're out of luck. They did give us Notion credit when we complained as a way to compensate. But when your company is forced to pay more than double the initial price asked, it felt as good as giving us some Monopoly money. Thanks guys. Notion is a great product that doesn't need to trick its customers to get paid. The value is well on display - just ask and we will be glad to pay. As it stands, my team feels we were duped.

Notion solves the problem of data availability. It's very easy to create a system that keeps all the info you need handy. Even better, there are easy-to-use integration and automation tools. Those help you cross-reference data, save time on repetitive tasks, and just make your database look gorgeous.

Notion is incredibly robust in that it has an amazing number of implementation options, such as embedding videos, inserting tables, images, etc. It has automations for many integrations as well, such as tables of content, connect to Slack, etc.

Notion's interface can be a little finicky at times, especially when trying to edit existing bulleted or numbered lists. They have made updates to improve this recently, so I'm confident it won't always be finicky at times.

Notion provides a great cloud-based platform to document everything a company needs to document with necessary varying levels of privacy and security. Notion makes it easy to create, house, and share everything from public how-to documents (complete with videos, graphic, screenshots, etc.) to private employee-specific maternity leave plans that are only visible to that employee and their leader.

Very flexible design. Great if you want to have your tasks organized differently. If working with a team, the filters and sorting features are great. Each person can view if to their preferences without bothering other teammates.

The table/database features are not an excel spreadsheet replacement. It can do basic math but the sorting and high level statistical analysis cannot be done on the tables.

Sharing task status with other teammates is helpful to show what project tasks are complete. Good for check-in meetings so that people know if tasks are worked on and adding tasks for teammates to work on.

Can't perform formulas per field (like a spreadsheet) in the databases, that'd be awesome!

This is definitely one of the most flexible and clever Note taking apps I've come across. It works fantastic on PC and on mobile, with formulas making everything very easy to organise.

I love Notion, and to improved I think adding more themes and ability to customise designs would be beneficial!

You can utilize Notion for a variety of purposes. From simple to-do lists to Kaban boards for prioritizing activities, tracking progress, and facilitating collaboration on projects with coworkers. Excellent for both personal and professional use.

I wish it integrated with Google Calendar so that notifications were sent there.

By using templates and available options, you can solve various problems related to project management and keep track of multiple situations.

The copy/paste function does not work very well for tabs.

Knowledge sharing and project management

I like that Notion allows you to have so much control over how your pages are structured, and what you use them for. I am still learning how to best use the software, but I enjoy all the different ways it can be used.

I feel like the learning curve for notion can make it difficult to start using for individuals that don't really enjoy spending time getting to know a new software.

Notion has helped me organize and have a place for important information and makes it easy for me to find what I am looking for. I am able to have to-do lists, notes, and information I reference daily all in the same place.
