Easy to use and understand! Once we build websites for our clients, they are able to easily go in and make updates without our help.
There are design limitations and "paywalls" up for certain features
We use Squarespace to help our local business clients become discoverable to their local market. Usually their websites are the cleanest and most user-friendly in the area, making it easy to beat their competition!
My favorite feature of Squarespace is the templates. If you want something that is 90% built out, this is the way to go. You pick your design, input text and a logo, then you're done! It really is that simple. But for those of us who want a bit more control, Squarespace also makes it easy to edit just about every detail of the page; everything from the design to picking your exact HEX colors.
The navigation around Squarespace can be a little clunky. It's not totally obvious where some things are in the admin console, like the color picker for your website. Something else I didn't like was that it didn't alert me on the annual renewal of my site, so my company email went down for a day. Of course, that day was when a client was trying to contact me!
Squarespace provided a simple platform for us to host our site. It helped us with a nice landing page where we can assist our clients and earn new business just by handing out our web address! It's a great tool and digital storefront.
It's quite easy to start square room. There are several templates and you can start designing your site right away. It is simple to use so that methods can be quickly navigated and used without excessive instructions. I find models and layout clean and competent as someone with no substantial design experience. Page models can be completed and navigated very easily
I suggested Squarespace to 2 customers and then went through it. Had both reached me for support and I was surprised at how challenging the platform was. I also found that the choice of template and for self-employed was minimal. And it's difficult to switch when they step it into model. Some layout is also not easy to just use.
I need to give my company a more comprehensive image and connect it to the websites has resolved the question of how to show what I do and. I will make immediate improvements to the website. I don't want to recruit anyone, or ask for somebody to move on my team.
I love the ease of use, it is essentially a lot of drag and drop options and the templates are really beautiful. It cuts down the time it would take to create layouts from scratch in other software.
There are loss of limitations. For example you can not easily create websites that you can add members too or log in pages to areas of the site with databases etc. You can not easily also do some complex things in design such as really interesting ways to showcase video streaming: its very basic in many format areas. Also its full of compromises. You can have certain design functions in one template but then it means other design functions are prohibited. Its highly annoying
There have been a lot of clients whom do not want to compromise of certain design aspects and functionality and as a result have looked elsewhere for a place to host their website.
Squarespace is approachable, clean, and easy to learn, use and customize.
A few limitations on plugins/web features that open source options offer (realizing that squarespace's security/ease of use make that less of an issue). Also frustrating that sites don't allow some form of networking between the two (ex: sharing the same event on two sites)
Mobile friendly solutions, clarifying organizational messaging, helping users and admins feel confident in content management
It’s simple user interface and clean designs.
Not always as customizable as I hope. Certain templates allow you to do more than others.
Making my website look clean and organized has given my brand an entirely new image.
I love the Squarespace offers easy to use templates for website design and hosting. Their designs are beautiful and functional- they make it easy to customize your page by uploading/ swapping imagery, changing formats, fonts and getting your site up and running with almost no down time.
Certain aspects of each Squarespace template are not customizable. While there is so much flexibility within each template, I find that certain fundamental parts of the site are fixed, and you cannot customize everything. I also find that there are certain quirks in the process like- making simple edits to an image like cropping can take forever to load! While I love the overall usability of Squarespace, there are some hiccups that should be addressed!
Simple, beautiful website design with social icons and SEO built in! Great options for portfolios and look-books.
I love the options for the aesthetic of a website and all of the functions available to make it beautiful! I have struggled to find a platform that I like and has all the capabilities that I am looking for -- square space is very straightforward!
Sometimes it is not intuitive to address certain issues that might come up.
It's been awesome for creating a more enjoyable experience for my audience.
I like how easy this is to create my own web page for my small business without having to have a lot of experience creating web pages. There are great template designs to choose from and I like the automatic billing options so you don't lose your domain.
I don't like how expensive it is and how it can look a bit redundant from web page to web page with multiple users using the same templates.
It helps me create my own web page easily and efficiently without having to pay a graphic designer.
Squarespace is an online website builder, which allows me to perform any website, with unique and professional designs. I love this software, it is easy to use, Squarespace allows me to build a website in 1 hour, I can add all the pages and features I need. This is a SaaS platform, it's great because I don't need a hosting and I don't need to worry about the security of my website, since they take care of everything, I just have to pay a monthly plan of 26$ a month.
Squarespace limits me to full access to my website, I can't migrate my website to another platform like Wordpress, I can only migrate certain content that they have available as posts. This is frustrating because I'm forced to stay on their platform, if I want to migrate to someone else I won't be able to.
We have improved the quality of our website and our customers' websites by using this platform, it has allowed us to create original and professional designs quickly, in addition the security of our websites has also improved, we do not have to spend money to pay a web developer to do maintenance work on our website or fix some problems with hosting, Squarespace takes care of everything.
It is very simple to use with basic features
Can slow down the computer greatly which makes it difficult to use with other programs
It is very easy to teach another person how to use
Helps build beautiful, effective websites with minimal learning curves. Strong support and integration with social media channels. Ability to create and manage our site, https://vacadun.com, easily.
E-commerce tools aren’t the strongest. We needed to integrate another product. Also didn’t honor a free GSuite year credit as advertised.
No problems, although they sometimes update the UI or functionality without notification. Benefits are a strong website that’s helping grow our e-commerce business.
First of all, I love the price for Squarespace. I haven't really done much comparing with other companies because we've been using Squarespace in our organization for several years (long before I came here), and I've loved using it. It's extremely customizable and easy to use. I'm able to edit almost every factor to represent my brand. I had no experience designing a website before I started this job, and I've had little to no trouble learning my way around Squarespace. For anything I can't easily figure out on my own, there are a lot of helpful resources online.
I have few complaints about Squarespace. There aren't many things that their websites can't do. I've even learned a little about embedding code to make up for anything I can't do through Squarespace. I have had some issues with editing different font styles on my website without editing ALL text of the same kind.
Since I did an overhaul and update of our website about 3 years ago using Squarespace, I think our visits and usage have definitely gone up. It also helps us present our small but mighty non-profit in a professional light.
Squarespace does an excellent job of keeping things simple without them becoming simplistic. Kudos also to all the extras that make our lives as developers easier!
Wish there was a little more flexibility in some of the page content features as well as some added support for code changes.
Squarespace has been a HUGE part of our growing firm. We are very grateful : )
I like that it was built for creatives. I understand that other web-building platforms might be better in some areas, but they are not as user-friendly, intuitive, or creative as Squarespace's platform is.
I dislike that you cannot create better discounts on the commerce sites. You should be able to create a bulk discount that won't be applied to all of your products. In order for Squarespace to truly compete in this world, users need to be able to have full control over what kind of sales they can run. I also wish that it was slightly more user-friendly in terms of making customizations. I think there should be a low-level "Squarespace for dummies" version and then a "pro" version that would make customizations much easier than they currently are. I often want to change something but don't know exactly what tool I'm searching for in order to change it.
Squarespace provides businesses with a simple and easy-to-use platform to get the word out about their business. And it provides me a great tool that I can work on to develop websites for my clients that they can then maintain themselves. This is key as far as I'm concerned and it's the main reason I use Squarespace over other platforms.
Using Squarespace to redo our website saved us a significant amount of money and provided us control over our presences on the webl. I like how I can quickly upload pictures, add new landing pages for advertisements, and create a smoothly working and streamlined website. The embedded Gsuite capabilities also make it very easy to maintain our business emails.
The learning curve is initially pretty steep and everything was a bit confusing to start. However, Squarespace officers great tutorials on how to do things and it does what I need to it do.
We had an older version of a website built in Wordpress hosted by GoDaddy that we did not have the internal capability to keep updated. Squarespace allows us to manage our own site and update when we need to while saving money.
- User-interface is very intuitive, sleek and well-divided. - All templates are aesthetically pleasing and professional. - Price and plans are reasonable for the service it offers. (It cost more than WordPress and less than hiring someone to build from scratch) - It's fast. It only took me a weekend before my website goes live - Quite a big range of domains you can choose from - Appear well for mobile and tablets
- The control over the templates is limited, and more controls require the premium plan. I remember that was not the case a few years ago. - Encounter sever down one time
- Establish a professional presence online and personal branding - Showcase my work in a user-friendly manner
Easy formatting for beginning website creators. Ease of use for uploading photos and galleries to keep website looking fresh.
Sometimes the design attributes are limited.
Clean, simple website designs. Easy to teach others how to edit and update websites.
I love the UI of Squarespace, and the easy of use. Squarepace is a very great tool for people who want a beautiful website but aren't that great in coding
It's hard to go to deep into personalization your own website. But that makes sense though!
No need the knowledge to code/program and still be able to run a website smoothly.
