I like that I have the OPTION to code but don't have to. Also, Wix apps let you do pretty much anything you want that cannot be done by Wix itself
The AI developer. Too rigid and once you go out, you can't come back in. I will use this for general layout but that's about it.
A more enhanced and easily updatable website. Benefits being I can access this at any time, and Wix stores multiple versions of past websites that I've developed, genius.
Ease of use, breadth of features, price is affordable for small business clients
limitations on customization, difficulty modifying template elements
mostly client information presentation, with some data collection for re-marketing purposes
Software is perfect if you know nothing about web coding or design.
There are some feature limitations, particularly where mobile editing is concerned.
We are easily able to share our work with potential clients and share my portfolio with employers. It is easy to upload picture galleries, which is perfect for a photographer's business.
WIX is really easy to use. They have attractive templates for everyone. The formats are very easy to use and the layouts are perfect. Layouts are very easy to rearrange and maneuver to your needs. They have a lot of add ons that are very applicable to all businesses and groups.
The education templates seem more juvenile. As a high school webmaster, I like to have our website look attractive, more grown up, and more like main stream websites out there.
I use WIX to keep our students and parents informed. I like to have all of our events, department information, media center, in one place. This gives anyone one parent, student, teacher a one stop shop to get school events, store, assignment help, etc. They can go to one place not 5 different places to get what they need.
Wix is a fluid, customizable platform that allows expansive website building...for those with a touch of tech-savvy and the time to learn the Wix functionality. The best part of using Wix is the sigh of relief when I need an additional tool and realize--yep, it's right there and ready to be implemented into my live site. There's a relief when the brains behind a product or service have clearly assessed their target audience thoroughly and anticipated their needs, offering a selection of tools that work for both my portfolio site and an educational blog site.
My one critique is the navigation of the back-end, which can sometimes feel a little redundant or frustrating. I don't appreciate needing to return to Editor and back again to monitor small changes, or needing to click through multiple menus to edit my blog posts. Allowing customization of the back-end would be ideal.
As a freelance writer, portfolio sites are tricky. As a writer only, I don't want to offer viewers only a glimpse of the project--that might belie my role in the project or distract from my text. At the same time, a finished project is more impactful that a Word document. The customization of Wix allow me to use a traditonal portfolio to showcase completed projects, along with a link to a Wix-hosted document of the actual project text.
Wix is the easiest website creation and management system I've ever used.
The solution is perfect. It doesn't need anything but a little easier way to change templates
Wix enables us to easily create website and collaborate with clients. It has bee a real help.
Wix makes it quick, fun and easy to build a very nice looking website. They offer a lot of great templates or you can choose to build your own with a blank one. I love that they also have a variety of stock photos available for free, or for just a couple of dollars, you can buy more pics.
I wish they had a few more categories of templates - like templates for virtual assistants or other specifically administrative ones.
I can quickly build a sample sites for a client so they can see them "live". I've been able to gain more clients because they're not just hearing about what their site will look like, they can actually see the site(s) right there on their computer and it doesn't cost me a thing! Right now, I'm building a site to showcase my virtual assistant skills.
The platform is very user friendly. From the most advanced users to the most basic this is a joy to work with for almost all of my needs. The customer support is also wonderful as well.
The site is lacking a lot features that I would love to see integrated in the future. I would especially love to see the addition of the "share" buttons as a widget on websites.
I use the site for a number of nonprofits in order to promote their services and request donations.
The ease of the platform, templates offered, the customer support
some of the lack of custom design features, would like to make some aspects different that are constrained by their graphics/templates
solving antiquated marketing platform, re-branded and refreshed our companies appearance
I like the drag and drop functionality, This makes adding elements to the website brain dead simple and that is increasing productivity
If do find that the mobile version isn't always formatted properly for you and you have to go about two different views to make that line up.
Being able to create basic websites for clients in the fraction of the time. No virus or hacking issues either.
I really enjoy the drag and drop features, that SEO is front and center, and that there are plenty of free themes to start with. We were able to create a compelling site in about a week (and we are able to continually update it, since we control the admin panel). The Mobile Optimization is key. We recently started running ads on Google, and EVERYONE is viewing our site from their phones.
It would be awesome to be able to run a test on your site, to see how SEO friendly it was. Like anything, some of the design makes you think, "why did they do it like this," but I am sure that is just a difference of opinion. We have a video in our header background that does not display on mobile, which is a bummer.
We have solved the problem of our online presence. Many people have told us that they like our website. Also, the mobile optimization is fantastic. To be able to toggle between versions is awesome, and they made it very easy to optimize for mobile.
I like that it's easy to use, versatile, lots of options to make any website look very professional!
Nothing. This web builder has so many features it'd be hard to come up with something I dislike.
Benefits would be promoting a business via building a website
The usability of their platform simply can't be beat. The interface is clean, functional, and easy to use. If you need to build a website but don't know the first thing about coding, Wix is perfect. I've never found another website builder that was nearly as customizable and cost-effective. Great tool for web designers and laymen alike. If you've never created a website before, they have hundreds of beautiful templates to choose from, most of which are free. If you are an experienced designer, they make it easier than anyone else to create a beautiful website from scratch with an intuitive drag and drop editor. They also make it easy to add modern effects like parallax scrolling and animations.
It lacks certain functionality, especially when moving beyond just a simple web presence. For example, some retailers might find the Wix Store or newsletters to be lacking in areas like task scheduling or bulk item editing. The developers are consistently listening to user feedback and requests, however, and implementing improvements. On the programming side, you can't edit the site's code. You can add an iframe for custom html, but the site code is not editable, so if you're one of those designers who likes to have full control of every line of code, Wix is not the editor for you. Also, you have to pay for direct support - otherwise you're left at the mercy of the community help center. But Wix staff usually answers most problems within 24-48 hours.
I'm a freelance designer and I have built sites as simple as an actor's web presence or an app subscriber sign-up site to a full-fledged online store or life coach's appointment booking site. Wix makes it easy for me to meet whatever needs my clients might have, fulfill their requests, and deliver beautiful sites easily. On top of which, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so I save money and my clients save money.
Wix offers many templates that create an easy starting point when trying to figure out what you'd like your website to be while giving you the ability to easily customize the fonts and colors in your design.
I do not like that you cannot easy switch your website to another template without having to start from scratch. I also find the mobile editor difficult to use and I typically end up hiding aspects of my website because I cannot get the editor to do what I want it to do.
I was looking for a professional looking website that added credibility to my small business, which Wix provided me the tools to do this successfully.
I love that Wix is a "drag and drop" type of website builder. I am a print designer, and have dragged my feet for YEARS on making my own website. When I found Wix, I thought it was So easy for me to be able to just upload pictures, type copy, choose a layout for my site, all without having to code a single thing. I love being able to go in to my website at any time, and add a page, hide a page (I typically do this during the holidays when I offer special holiday services). I also like being able to change my portfolio frequently. I would not be able to do this if I had to code everything, nor would I want to. :-)
I wish the SEO was a little more in depth. As well as being able to see who tracks your website, and who visits. I'd like to be able to see who is visiting, how many times, how many people, etc. Maybe I haven't figured that part out so much, but I feel like it should be a little more accessible. Also, I just downloaded their app for iPhone, and while it's somewhat useful. You can't really see much of your information on the app. I think the Wix app could have a little more to it.
Solving not having an online portfolio! With the ease of Wix, I was able to finally create my online portfolio, keep in touch with my clients and followers via all of my social media sites, and I can easily send my website to anyone asking to see my work, or want information about me and what I do.
I like the templates, the expanding boxes, the ease of customization, navigating pages and building them with styles that work for my requirements. I like that I can copy a whole page and edit it to my specifications, or copy my whole website for that matter, change it and then toss the other one out entirely. I like that I get to feel like a technological bad ass.
Some of the apps are not as easy. 123 form builder has been a bit of a pain. Sometimes I do pages over and over again and they don't work. The formatting is difficult to manage and you can't just change fonts, text or formatting within the form you are building, there is a separate place to do it and it does not look the same once you save it and view it. This can be super super frustrating.
I'm solving the problem of making it easier to have clients fill out forms, find out about what I do, pay me, all with less steps. I realize that the more convenient I can make every move for my clients, the less stress they will have and the more interested they will be in having me assist them in removing more stress through my programs.
Extremely easy to use, even for people who aren't tech savvy!
We struggle with its connection to our Facebook page as Facebook has for some reason tagged our website as suspicious.
We have utilized the website platform for getting information to our clients as well as our blog.
Wix is straightforward. It's WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). One cannot blame Wix, one has to blame his or her abilities to click and copy/paste. The creation of pages is easy, fast, and intuitive. When you sign in, Wix drives you step-by-step towards your dream page. Wix works for you, it deals with your menus and sub-menus, it has easier integration with social media ( even in the free plan). The Apps are powerful. If you want to start your Call-To-Action plan, wix is there to perform at its best.
I don't like how the site name appears, username.wixsite.com/sitename. I think this should be reduced to simply sitename.wix.com other builders do. I know this forces clients to go premium, but it is cumbersome.
I am starting my business. I have not set up yet, but I have created my sample site as an exercise.
I love the how easy it is to create a simple or even a large website, I created a website that has 117 pages and they are all connecting so its easy for patrons to find what they are looking for.
WIX is not super friendly with HTML Coding therefore if you are trying to embed something to your website you have to use an app that will allow you to add more features and sometimes it does not even work.
Ease of access for Patrons, less drop down menus and more functions. Allows them to find more of what they need on one page or having a button to advance to a new page.
The variety of themes, their website editor, the ability to add extension from their store. You can do almost everything on wix using those apps in their store! Websites always come out beautiful. The editor for mobile sites is very easy to use and delivers a simple mobile site in minutes.
There are some basic features there that are unclear, a lot of times I found myself struggling with background images being too big and can't be moved or changed, spaces between parts of the websites too big and can't be dragged to adjust. Some configurations are really hard to find or understand and required that I ask for help (I consider myself a progressed user so that's very rare).
I wanted to launch a website for my small business and keep costs to the minimum. With the Wix platform I've done that so easily. Building the website took literally one day of work, and then a few extra hours for modifications. People are really impressed by my website and they can't believe it's on Wix! Premium features on Wix also allowed me to make the modifications I needed, even though I decided not to go with building an online store on my site because prices were a bit too high.
