Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) is a hosted and open-source product and is one of the biggest website builders today, with major blue-chip brands like Nike and Cisco among its roster of clients. The Adobe Commerce environment is also scalable, however, it does require some coding knowledge to maximize. The platform has a lot of customization options and offers trigger-based automated marketing features and automatic cross-selling and upselling features.

Magento 1 is no longer being actively supported, but it was a good platform for us for many years. I liked the ability to easily manage a large catalog and make global changes, such as price rules.
Magento had some challenges with integrations, and we mostly had to use API rather than native integrations. If you don't have a in-house dev team, this likely isn't a good fit.
Powering our online ecom store.
The platform was fairly easy to navigate. I was able to change pricing and titles on my ecommerce site in a few steps.
I have a hard time editing things in bulk. When I wanted to make changes to my ecommerce platform, it was a very slow process and it took a long to upload and convert.
I used magento as a means to create an ecommerce site for my company’s products.
I like how everything is in one place; you can look up orders, issue refunds and notify the customer all on the same platform. I also like how it keeps track of previous orders from the same customer. Also, the search feature helped with efficiency.
I dislike how slow the platform was and how many steps there were. When issuing refunds it was very complicated and took many steps. Also, there should be set refund options (Refund specific items, refund shipping, refund 10%, etc.). This would also expedite the process.
This helped us manage sales and refunds.
With Magento you can basically customize everything, which is great. It is also one of the most used e-commerce software, so you'll find answers to a lot of questions and problems.
If you want to change anything in Magento it is pretty much always a huge load of work. If you start using Magento you will need a full time developer at hand at all times! If you don't have one, do not use Magento! The setup of Magento is hard, adding a module is difficult, because the built-in connector doesn't work properly. The voucher system is not very useful. For example if you want to offer a discount on a certain type of product, you can't do that without an extra module.
We are currently using Magento for an fashion online shop.
Ability to customize about anything is awesome, as is the on going costs. Pay your hosting provider a few hundred dollars or less a month and that's it. Backend admin panel is great for managing a huge catalog of unique items from a broad range of categories.
Without a proper developer or engineer on staff, making significant changes to the site is expensive and time consuming. With shift to Magento 2.0, users like us on 1.9 or lower face significant hurdles to migrating.
Magento allows us to sell products online in an economical way.
Order display - When the order comes in we are able to see the details very clearly.
Adding products if VERY putzy! It is hard to add a product and hard to update the photos.
Online E-Commerce. Ship station an online shipping program works great with magento ans has made our shipping process with using Magento so much better!
robust functionality, b2b and b2c solutions
it is complicated to use, not the most user friendly, lack of training we received, not knowing all of magento's functionality
web admin for our website
I was impressed with the sheer number of extensions available on magento connnect. You can also extend/modify almost all of magneto's functionality to suit your needs ( although you may not have fun doing so )
Im not a big fan of Magento, like the title says I find it total overkill for most businesses and the server requirements can be quite costly so it runs smoothly.
I chose magneto because its impressive user base ( John lewis etc ) and for its category structure. Although I was happy with the shop we built the 3 months spent developing a customer theme and adding custom functionality really could of been better spent else where in the business. No benefits to speak of.
I'm having a hard time answering this question because I'm wracking my brain to find something that it does well. It does the job of allowing us to list items on our website with descriptions. I've also heard that the bugs we encounter are due to the number of customizations our business needs. We are a meal delivery service that offers delivery only on certain days/times, but someone with a traditional e-commerce business may not need this type of customization.
Pages crash often. Sometimes information will appear to be missing. It feels like I'm consistently being gaslit by the website's backend. Everyone finds themselves frustrated after having to deal with Magento at my job.
We're able to list our items on the internet and allow people to order them. The obvious benefit is that our business profits off of this. We're able to run various reports that help our kitchen in prepping these meals.
Magento has many powerful tools and functions to run an entire e-Commerce site through its platform alone.
Despite its complexity, Magento leaves a lot to be desired and requires additional back-end programming to get all of the features and functions necessary for a pleasant UI experience. The complexity also causes Magento to have a very steep learning curve, requiring specific people with background in the platform to run and maintain it, which can be a heavy burden on smaller businesses.
I used Magento to run the front-end and back-end of an E-Commerce site. One of the many difficulties I faced was with the coupon/promotional code interface which could be temperamental at times.
It is somewhat customizable which is useful but not good enough.
Not intuitive to use at all - things seem like they could be done easier.
We are able to presale items which is integral to our business
ability to use applied logic for dynamic features driven by customer decisions
if you don't have a full stack team of developers in house & do not configure your store/product builds correctly from the start, you will end up failing or being marginally successful
upgraded platform improves front end user experience in terms of order ability
The softare is quite intuitive and easy to use as an administrator
Not very practical when you seek personalised/bespoke options on your e-shop
It is a practical e-commerce platform but also a frustrating one
I like that I can see our products in list view and easily scroll through. I appreciate the ability to see many things laid out in front of me when dealing with a large and complex product line.
Magento deals with a lot of code, not making it user friendly for someone who is not familiar with code. It would be helpful to have easier functions available such as drag and drop rather than getting into code for minor website changes.
We are able to fairly quickly update product pricing and have realized opening each in dividual product in a new tab when repricing is key to staying organized.
Magento is open source so it allows the freedom to customize to your full imagination. It can easily be integrated with many 3rd party systems. We switch to the platform several years ago and since have an increased of sales and customer loyalty. We like the ease of product and order management as well.
We really dislike the ongoing updates and resources needed to accomplish keeping the platform secure and updated. The Magento 1 Enterprises is coming to an EOL end of life support period
The platform solves many of our internal work flow issues with order management. We sell custom products so it allows a good workflow that is engaging with customer on proofs of design and approvals.
Nothing, better off using excel to automate your reporting. Unable to perform basic BI functionality without complex set-ups requiring support hours. Tool itself is unusable.
Only usable spending $$$$$ on support hours. Better off integrating Magento with a real BI platform like Power BI.
No benefits, i wish i never signed up.
It is capable of doing a lot, and there are lots of possibilities and options.
It's just not very user friendly. I always have to search up tutorials on things before I can figure them out... nothing is very intuitive or self-explanatory.
We're using it for our various branded web store applications.
