Unclaimed: Are are working at Basecamp ?
Basecamp has evolved as a project management platform since its launch in 2004 but its mission to help remote teams stay organized, productive, and efficient remains. One new feature that Basecamp recently added is called Basecamp Hill – a visual representation that divides the component of a project into a phase of uncertainty, unknowns, and problem-solving (uphill) and a phase of certainty, confidence, and execution (downhill). This is on top of Basecamp’s core features which include a Message Board, To-dos, Calendar, Documents and Files, Group Chat, and Automated Check-ins. It’s a top-down and bottom-up platform for everyone in a business or organization – from proprietors and C-level executives to project managers and individual team members.

Compare Basecamp with other popular tools in the same category.
What I like most about Basecamp is its versatility in integration. Almost any other software you use that can be linked to a task or project. This means you can easily track your work and collaborate not only with others on your team, but also with people you work with from time to time, such as IT and support. Basecamp helps you track progress and assign it to the right people, significantly reducing email traffic.
The user interface is what I didn't like about Basecamp. It took me a bit to get over the hurdle of figuring out where everything was. Of course, this is available in all of the tools, but I had more time to learn Basecamp because the design is rather outdated compared to the project management tools asana or monday.com. However, for those who are not extremely tech-savvy, Basecamp is a terrific and straightforward option.
Within the department, we are planning major launches, initiatives, and events. Tasks are completed faster and more efficiently when numerous individuals are involved, and emails have been slashed in half. The key issue I'm attempting to address with Basecamp is the collaborative part of project management. Today, the great bulk of work is done by your team members as well as outside contractors. With Basecamp, you can simply observe what's going on and ensure that the project moves forward, ensuring that no work falls between the gaps.
Basecamp is the meaning of straightforwardness. I went gaga for the Basecamp interface from whenever I first utilized this stage. Everything in this application is in its place. Most clients will be happy with the free arrangement given by Basecamp. Thus, I track down this instrument as truly significant. Headquarters has many highlights that make cooperation a delight. I have the choice to review errands and agent them.
Basecamp needs created correspondence choices that would permit changes to this arrangement.
I principally use it to speak with colleagues who work in different workplaces. This empowers us to impart straightforwardly and team up on a similar task progressively, which altogether works on the effectiveness of the venture co-creation process.
There are a lot of teams across many different organizations using Basecamp.
The task management software is not the best.
Team collaboration internal and external.
Best part is its daily activity, assignment, bookmarks and schedule are all at a single place, day to day project reports can all be done at single stop.Best part is its Campfire, which helps to lot for messaging purposes.
Everything is good about Basecamp, only one concern is that its notification is not working properly in mobile application, rest its works perfectly in desktop version.
Everyday project management is done, schedule of projects, assign of tasks, day to day assignments, and the best part is you can create different groups and can chat in campfire.
Basecamp is very easy and simple to use. You can easily create and manage things there with your team. You can also do messaging as well with your teammates. I never face any issue with applications as well. I am using basecamp for a couple of years but every time it feels, how simple to use it :)
If you're not an admin of any project each time you request admin to add and change some. this is the only thing I don't like about basecamp. IT is a very good product but when it comes to pricing it is very expensive.
Likewise, We have a great experience with Basecamp. We start using basecamp before 2 years with our client. We can add and manage all 100+ coworkers here without any issue. We can create, work, track all the tasks.
Employees may use Basecamp to keep track of work and open calendars for ongoing projects. Use alerts and comments to display real-time updates. I've been using Basecamp for a few years and have always appreciated how simple it is to coordinate tasks using its tools and capabilities. A project, tasks, notes, and controls that are notified or assigned are all simple to construct. It contains the most tools for managing and organizing many projects across divisions for smaller businesses or organizations.
The one thing I don't like about Basecamp is that you can't request a project if you aren't presently in one. You must request the access benefit independently from the project. We battled early on with developing internal protocols for how projects would be conceived and managed. The feature set is rather broad, which is wonderful for customisation, but it resulted in a lot of starts and ends before we found a method that worked for our team. This is good; it's not a bad thing, but some direction or suggestions may have helped us get started. Dependencies do not exist, which is a feature I would want to have.
Simple project administration. All of my projects are in one location, and rather than using generic folders, Basecamp offers a clean and clear user interface. Prior to BaseCamp, it was difficult to keep track of projects and where they were in the process. It meant that we had to attend a lot more meetings to obtain progress updates, and even then, things may not have been disclosed to all of the appropriate parties. BaseCamp makes it easy for everyone to understand the status of a project, which means fewer meetings and less confusion.
The organization of client communication for projects, the easy functionality, and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously! I love how basecamp helps keep my email inbox organized instead of flooded with annoying email threads!
When you paste a link, such as a google document or a google spreadsheet, into the basecamp update, you're unable to actually link the documents. Clients sometimes have a difficult time understanding that there's a link within the update.
Being able to involve the right people in any current project and decide who should see certain updates at different times. This really helps with not overloading other team members with seeing conversations that aren't relevant and therefore, saving company time.
The simplicity of use of the UI in the Basecamp 3 version appeals to the majority of clients. This makes it easy to maintain frequent communication while avoiding email and phone overload. I enjoy developing lists that can be assigned dates and persons, and we utilize them on a regular basis. I really enjoy the mobile app since it allows me to upload a screenshot image and draw on top of it before sharing. The option to build workgroups for the many teams I'm on is a fantastic tool. The activity log allows you to see all of the interactions and jobs that have been assigned, worked on, and finished at a glance. When it comes to efficient collaboration, this is quite beneficial.
I'd want the function (do) to be more effective in updating the progress % of the job that is being developed so that I know where the task is in the process. It would also be excellent to include the ability to measure time spent on projects and activities, similar to other platforms, to make it a one-stop shop.
Basecamp has significantly decreased the number of emails we send for each project. It also demonstrates to clients that we are excellent at project management since we are always developing new ways to use it. The activity progress view allows us to evaluate where our time is being spent or squandered and optimize our workload for the day. Basecamp is our primary task management tool. Basecamp assists us in coordinating and aligning all of our coworkers so that everyone is on the same page. The advantages we've observed include having a site for communication, a place for tasks to be handed in, and a place where papers and modifications can be completed collaboratively.
It is easy to make an assignment and share it with your team. The best thing that I liked about basecamp is the message option where you can discuss internal issues with your team
Need to add every time to the person. It should be like just adding the person once and he can be able to see all the project. But to enter into the project he needs to have a special permission
Since the day I am using basecamp to get my clients to work done. It has become easy for me to manage everything I just need to tell my team what is the project and he looks at it himself and the notification of reminders is the best.
It's a superior method for overseeing clients, projects, tasks, to-do lists, sales, and groups in a solitary platform. It's superfast and arrives at a reasonable price. Team calendar, time following, and its visit highlights are too great even to consider utilizing, and it's full easy to use.
A few times, the talk segment is a piece slow; it invests in some opportunity to refresh the approaching message. We need to revive the page again. Also, in the versatile application, it's a piece slow and lagging; the message doesn't spring up on schedule.
The fundamental utilization of it is its Campfire or its visit application; many groups can be dealt with in a solitary Stop. Team calender time following are additionally used. The Schedule of gatherings are done here.
