Ecwid stands out in this category because of how easy to use the platform is. It’s easily one of the most adaptable, which means users can quickly start selling products online. Ecwid is also not a standalone builder, but it does work with a range of platforms, including WordPress. On this platform, you can customize your checkout experience, integrate key apps to help you scale, and even manage your store on the move.

I really like how easy it is to set up a store and and implement it into a Wordpress site. couple of hours work!
The fact I haven't actually sold anything yet! Ecwid could assign someone who knows what they're doing to provide advice on how to drive more sales or advice on how to market the product etc.
Without Ecwid I would be using WooCommerce, as a wordpress developer I already had site built on wordpress and didn't want to start again with the likes of Shopify. Ecwid allowed me to build my store directly into my existing site with very little effort. Ecwids free plan is also ideal for startups such as myself where I have built my business over the course of 2 years in my spare time. With no costs associated to Ecwid.
I love that the interface is easy to use. I'm not super tech savvy, and some of the other Ecommerce plugins for Wordpress have been confusing. I have no problems adding products to my catalogue, and tagging them on Instagram is a BREEZE!!
I wish there was a better SEO function. I've used Yoast with other plugins. Yoast was cumbersome, but I had a good idea of how well my copy was fairing in regards to SEO.
Ecwid helped me sell products on IG!
Ecwids' easy to use and easy to understand. The apps that integrate with it make selling online seamless.
I can't say there's much I dislike. I've been using it for years and still do - I have no plans on changing.
Ecwid acts as a middle man for me to move merchandise via a 3rd party app (Printful) that integrates well with it.
Customer support is great, when I have needed help there is always help at hand. I have found Ecwid the most value for money online store platform. After trying many other options I always seem to come back to Ecwid.
Sign in link method (which I had to get disabled). Ecwid seems to be trying to force this sign in method on it's users. It just doesn't suit a lot of companies. Would be good if it was made esier to switch back to the old sign in.
Easy customization.
Easy to categorize items. Easy to use SEO recommendations. Easy sales notification.
Since I also integrate with Ebay it seems redundant that Ebay reports the sale and Ecwid reports the sale. Ebay keeps notifying you even after you've taken care of the issue
I am hoping that by integrating with Inventory Source it will give me back the time I've lost on the computer putting each individual item in,
I needed a solution to sync my inventory (which I had already spent a considerable amount of time on) with Square. Ecwid made it easy.
Sometimes the sync doesn't work as well as I'd like, but overall I'm very happy with the product.
As a very small tea store, we needed an effective e-commerce solution that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Ecwid delivered.
Easy to get started, if I can build a shop then you can. I even had someone (who didn't know I built my site) compliment me on how good it looked.
I can't actually say that I dislike anything, all of the tools you need are at your finger tips they have literally thought of everything. Only thing that they could do is make it free - but everyone needs to earn money and the site has paid for itself already. Oh wait you do offer a free option - nice work!
An affordable site that I didn't have to pay someone to build and got started right away. Perfect for a start up that you aren't sure will "make it" and don't want to invest too much in.
The thing that first drew me to ecwid was the ability to tightly control my sales area. Due to laws in my state I am unable to sell across state lines. Ecwid allows me the ability to have an online store but control whom I service.
Some of the features I use I consider to be "basic" but they require an upgrade from Ecwid. So, I upgraded... I'd rather have the features than not have them. One of the most frustrating things is that I had to upgrade my Ecwid plan just to have the ability to have a Facebook shop on the Ecwid platform.
I currently use Ecwid to allow put a buffer between my customers order date and the first available pick up date. it is really nice and saves the email from customers saying is such and such a date too early? I have seen an increase in my SEO and visibility since I upgraded and am now able to sell on Facebook.
Everything Ecwid is really great! Even if there is a feature that I need and it's not already available, they have an awesome API and application system that allows you to go beyond your needs.
Honestly, nothing! Everything is working great.
I use Ecwid as an eCommerce platform. It gives me all the tools to manage my store no matter how large it is.
What is most helpful about using Ecwid is that it leads you through the process step by step. Also, you literally don't have to make any decisions to get your starter website up and running, it is done automatically with the option to tweak it later. What I like the most is that, as a South African battling with our weak Rand, I know that I can afford Ecwid and I really feel that I'm getting value for my subscription fees.
My only challenge is that I have only found plugins for the South African Post Office and Collivery as delivery options. I can't risk using the South African Post Office because they are nototious for delivering horribly late, if they actually deliver at all, and I believe in fabulous customer service. Collivery is a challenge because it is much more expensive than most couriers. Would love to see a future plugin for TCG (The Courier Guy) or Fastway or Aramex, perhaps similar to what uAfrica.com has with Shopify (just the courier option. Their syncing with other sites is for the really big players, as you have to upgrade your Shopify plan.) Or a plugin just like the existing one for Collivery would be wonderful.
We needed a Web presence for both sales and marketing purposes, and Ecwid has helped us do that with no extra skills required, at an affordable price. We are also very happy to see in the newsletter that new features are continuously being released. Our dashboard is easy to understand and navigate, and we are well pleased. It's also great to be able to pay subscription fees with PayPal.
Awesome site to start up your online business. Features to help with stock, customers, delivery, advertising. All bases covered here.
Would prefer pricing to be cheaper as I am in Australia, therefore the rates advertised in US$ are completely different to the AU$.
Ecwid have helped launch my online business.
Ecwid is a really robust app. Easy to connect with my website, no matter if it is in HTML5 or Wordpress, and it has a wide range of options, a software suitable for your business, both small and big.
I think search options must be improved. Besides that, I think the software covers almost everything you might need.
We need a fast and reliable online selling solution and Ecwid was fast to config and easy to run.
It's so simple to use and all the automatic emails and the app make it so easy. I really like how I can just add some small code to my website to have my shop. It's easy to set up and there are lots of blogs and articles on what to do and how you can improve your listing
I would like it to be a bit cheaper but the price is still very fair. It would also be nice to customise of the shop front looks on my website with some sort of drag and drop editor but I only have the basic package so I'm not sure if this is available on a higher package
I am solving my shipping and sales problem. The shipping problem was that I had no easy and simple way of sending items. Now Ecwid makes this very easy for me and I have extra time to work on stuff that is really important to me. The sales issue was that I was going to have to pay my developer to do so much work on my website but now ecwid lets me make all the changes myself and as many changes and as often as I Like
It looks clean and professional on my website: nymarts.com Go see how it looks and functions. Doesn't get any easier ! I make my own product. I built my website from scratch, and Ecwid's HTML Shopping Cart is the finishing touch :o)
The ONLY thing that I don't like about it is the blue text in the cart, people can hardly see it... I get complaints......
With Ecwid's shopping cart solution, I'm able to peddle my stuff to the Continental 48 :o) I've gained recognition.
It is so easy to use and I am constantly finding new ways to improve every aspect of our store, how to reach more customers and increase their spend.
I had wished for two years it integrated with Quickbooks, but I have found an alternative application that does get my Ecwid orders right into Quickbooks online cutting down on my workload substantially.
We now make almost half of our sales online vs. over the phone or email which means I can use my time more efficiently. Errors are also reduced because I am not hand writing mailing addresses and then adding them to our accounting and shipping programs. It has also made it so easy to use Google Shopping and it integrates with my Mail Chimp account, what problems doesn't this platform solve?
Always reluctant to try new software or processes without some sense of how they work. Gave Ecwid a try because it was recommended for Muse users (who are most likely clueless graphic designers like me) and found it very easy to use. I set up simple online stores for schools, and am able to design the web pages in Muse and add the product "buy" button into the page. The backend makes it easy to set up products and pricing options.
We sell products with plenty of print and size options, and it would be nice if options could be nested inside another option i.e. adding a choice within a choice. For example: if you are adding a name to a shirt, the price will include a window that includes a space to fill in the name desired (and have it required). Unless I am not figuring it out, it doesn't look like it available in single step. One other thing: longer product titles are truncated in reports, which adds a bit of work to creating descriptive titles.
We are able to offer school stores without using an outside source, saving us money.
This platform is easy to use. No advanced or coding skills needed and customer service is available 24/7!
I haven't had any major issues with ECWID.
With ECWID I'm able to connect it to my Facebook and Instagram account so customers have more ways to shop my store!
Ecwid was easy to set up and extremely powerful. We were able to get our store set up in just a few days using the starter site and have continually upgraded to higher levels of features every month. I like the mobile app and use it every day when I am on the road. The back-end managmeent features are easy to use and I like that there are so many 3rd party add-ons.
I wish the Starter site would have a way to add video's and blogs.
Once we had our store up and running, we have seen a 300% growth in monthly business and now take orders without talking to customers.
Its Simplicity! It is super easy to perform all necessary steps to setup a webstore. Just to name a few such as to upgrade and downgrade, to import and export data, to manage your orders on mobile phone, to setup products, shipping cost, payment gateway etc. Best of all, it cost you absolutely nothing to try apart from your time.
At the moment, there is nothing that I dislike.
Exploring how my in store customers will response to our web store.
Ecwid has been a pleasure to work with and in. The staff have been amazing and are so quick to respond to any questions I have. I made the jump to the unlimited plan about 4 months in so I could take advantage of the 12 hours of custom web development and the mobile app. Can't wait to see how this takes my new business to the next level.
I do wish that images were made as an optional selection when setting up products rather than having to use CSS.
It allows me to use my preferred website builder and sync with my accounting and POS system.
