Compare Litmus with other popular tools in the same category.
The ability to quickly test emails in a variety of email apps and services as well as being able to build and edit emails on-site.
Sometimes it takes a few moments for Litmus to "recognize" a new email I send to it, or it quickly does but is not apparent when previews will be available.
Most often we're checking and resolving issues with emails not displaying correctly, and responsively in apps such as Microsoft Outlook, iOS Mail, etc.
The efficiency of this application is awesome. Real-time adjustments and debugging make it even better.
The time taken to load the template can be reduced.
Designing the Email Templates for Automation
I like the flexibility of Litmus. I can build an email in real-time within Litmus or send proofs to my personal folder from the ESP. Our team depends on Litmus every single day.
As with any email rendering tool, I notice inconsistencies from time to time. Something may look wrong for iOS Outlook, but then it looks normal when testing live. However, this is fairly rare and I think just a factor of the ever-evolving world of email development.
We test all of our templates and builds within Litmus (in addition to live testing on our own devices to verify the accuracy of the renders). This saves us soooo much time that we can then utilize on other opportunities for our clients.
Litmus has made it easy for our team to view our email across multiple clients all at once. I also enjoy reading the Litmus blog posts for valuable insights.
I know there are many more features to litmus that I have not used yet. It would be great to have more tutorials or explanation into these unused features.
We have been able to optimize our emails across multiple email clients with litmus, which saves us from looking badly to these customers with potential errors.
I like to receive the insights about email marketing or e-CRM in general. But I also use it on the daily to make sure emails are displayed correctly in all devices.
Nothing stands out for me that I dislike
Rendering problems, help me make sure that our emails will be rendered properly, but also help us use the trends in terms of email marketing and always improve and personalize our emails.
Quick ability to check mail layout across all most commonly used mail clients. Also the ability to save the mail for future reference.
Grouping the saved emails is a bit convoluted after the latest UI updates. Maybe I got used to the old way of grouping the emails.
We have multiple emails we sent for receipts, some are old HTML that were broken on mobile breakpoints. We sanity check the emails regularly from a QA team point of view. Not just marketing emails
User-friendly and clean dashboard that ensure everything is clear, concise and organized Easy and efficient email integration through various social media platforms amd email providers
It's quite a process to set up the spam tests
Detecting whether or not our email campaigns can make it through common spam filters The software gives us an udea of our test score and provide insights that improve our likelihood of emails reaching our target destination
Allows us to audit our IP address and domain we are sending from against industry blacklist. Effective first line in defense for email testing allowing accessibility to users lacking technical knowledge Scalable , allowing us to send large quantity of emails at once
Everything else is top_notch apart from their pricing ,I hope they can offer a more competitive price.
Litmus Builder enables checking and testing of various codes against different email clients Effective testing all aspects of our emails and checking the formatting before it gets to our clients
Litmus is really a great software for email marketing. Since the first day we installed it, it has brought a huge impact in our company. It is expensive but necessary for any company doing email marketing. It is super incredible and supports nice and highly customizable features that does not require any training to learn and use. Add-on features are very neat especially for people who like them. It is great for all companies, both small, medium-sized and large.
Litmus is expensive but worth the price since it is a powerful and easy-to-use application for email marketing. I have ever worked with different similar platforms before but Litmus is the best when it comes to effectiveness and performance.
I love Litmus customer support team, they respond quickly and the application keeps updating thus making it more effective and productive. It is really a flexible email updating and testing tool and i highly recommend it.
The ease of using the application with little to no training needed. Great visuals.
Nothing to mention except for pricing is not as competitive as other similar tools like Email on Acid.
Mobile rendering and the ability to show clients issues with their designs quickly and easily
What i like most about Litmus, is how it simplifies and speeds up testing my content. I like the fact that i can access it from anywhere anytime and from any of my devices. It also enables me to create professional campaigns and instantly send them. I like the ability to manage email lists, send outbound emails within seconds and personalize emails. It has a very responsive and friendly interface which makes it easy to learn and use so no extra training required.
I think it would be more advantageous to have more options for integrating mail platform into the spam test. Apart from this i have nothing else to mention as a dislike about Litmus.
Litmus is a solid and robust application suitable for any company doing email marketing. It is a straightforward and lightweight application that enables us to effectively and efficiently engage with customers and business partners around the world. It has made our work more easier and efficient by allowing us to market our services and products across the world thus saving us much time and money. Availability of customer support team is also an added advantage.
I really like that I can click on any part of the email, or highlight a passage of copy and leave a comment. This makes the amends process really easy as without it I am having to waste time describing what is to be changed over email. I like that I can share the email proof and tag different approvers with ease which then sends an email reminder too. I also like that the email creator can sort emails into folders so that I can see which emails are part of which campaigns easily. Finally, I love that I can preview what the email will look like on a phone as well as a desktop - this is great for checking if an email is too long, or if the graphics or titles are rendering correctly in the mobile version.
I would love to be able to have a search function for the emails that I have been sent to approve so that I can go back and see them at a later date, incase any updates need to be made.
* mobile view - emails that we were sending previously were too long in this view and we now yield better click rates by addressing this * saving time on the approvals process * having a documented approval system so that I can prove that someone has signed an email off to be sent
Everything that I need to build, proof, and create emails and email campaigns in one platform
i don't really dislike anything about the platform. Maybe being able to run Salesforce ampscript personalization within the litmus builder itself? not that big of a deal though since there is litmus integration in salesforce.
Saving a bunch of time with their design library, and proofing tools. Also being able to create a design system within litmus.
I like that I am able to see exactly what my supporters will see across email domains and catch any weird errors before the email is deployed.
I wish that the user interface was just a touch more intuitive and not as clunky.
Graphic optimization errors and also button optimization.
I have used Litmus as my email preview/display tool in both Pardot and now HubSpot for years. It's indispensable when you want to see how your email campaigns will display on different platforms.
I have found it to sometimes be slow-loading when generating previews, but not too terrible.
One of the main problems I have solved with Litmus is the Outlook previews. As you may know, Outlook can be tricky when designing emails, but with Litmus it takes the frustration out of not knowing how emails will display on specific email providers.
Litmus is a great tool to test out our emails deliverability before sending, and saves us countless hours testing.
The only downside is highly personalized emails are hard to test in litmus since they won't show up.
Solving code issues on different email clients.
Litmus is an effective tool for email marketing with a very high speed. There are various features that are included for effective execution of my work.
The price is a single dislike that I see about Litmus. May be the price could be affordable for the users.
From the entire experience, Litmus enables me to boost my productivity and upgrade my overall performance. Its user interface is extremely simple to operate and it's speed is also flawless.
Ease of use, multiple client support pricing
Nothing was identified that was unpleasant to use
Multiple email campaigns tested on different clients
My favorite thing about Litmus is how it simplifies and speeds up testing my content. It doesn't matter what email tool I'm using. I can leverage Litmus to render and preview my emails before sending them.
I would like to have the ability to seamlessly update my content in Litmus when making changes after previewing it there. I have to switch to the email tool where the email lives or copy and paste if I edit the content in Litmus. This would be a great enhancement.
It saves me time and simplifies testing. Instead of managing multiple test email accounts and related test email lists I would send tests to, I can focus on identifying issues uncovered by Litmus and applying the corresponding fix in my content. This saves hours and centralizes my testing process.
Ability to proof emails and check rendering cross multiple clients and devices
It takes time to get proof. also builder could use some improvement
I Build emails for my clients and it is important to UAT rendering
Being able to send test emails for approvals has been incredibly helpful, and being able to organize emails into folders and have history of them.
Litmus on mobile has never worked well for me.
Our workflow and emails being able to have different components and templates saves a lot of time.
Litmus has always been my number one choice. It has improved considerably over the past, so we, as Devs/QAs, trust it. The customer support team is also pretty efficient & responds quickly to any technical issues.
There's always room for improvement since we work in an ever-evolving world, but there's nothing specific.
I mainly check how my emails render on various mobile and desktop platforms. It's pretty efficient and result-oriented.
Ability to speed up the QA and testing process and ensure a level of quality
Changing between browser and OS can be time consuming - can also be slow
Cross browser testing
Easibility to use the tool and that it integrates with Marketing Cloud
Nothing, it is a great tool to view how your email will render on 100's of devices and ISP's
Email templates and how they render on devices and ISp's
We love Litmus for the ability to see the specific reasons why an email may fail to deliver, from time taken to load an image and accessibility to real world processing into inboxes, tracking each of the main play spam filters. The email building tools are top-notch and really do take the pain out of the building and visualising how your code will render in every email client.
While not Litmus' fault and because I have to dislike something, it would be advantageous to have more options for integrating mail platforms into the spam tests. Currently, we have to save a CSV of email addresses from Litmus, import them into our system, and send the campaign. Email addresses changing for each spam test, this can become a barrier.
Email deliverability scores and improving reputation with first class email builds.
Litmus allows multiple people in my organization to review emails and collect feedback all in one place.
The one thing I dislike is the need to resubmit the email using a new email, causing the creation of data extensions in my platform. I use HTML paste instead, which seems to work well now that we can update the subject.
Litmus allows for collaboration on edits to emails. We are able to ensure our links are working properly and it offers us a tool to share with our content creators what is best practice to avoid spam.
Can see the rendering of email on different devices including desktop and mobile for QA. Can update devices. Integrates with SFMC.
Sometimes it says the code is broken in litmus but it's fine when we test it in the browser
Have increased usage limit by upgrading to enterprise plan. Can integrate with SFMC.
Litmus integrates nicely and guides you on what changes you have to make to ensure a higher rate of deliverability.
not much. the integration could always use some improvement.
We email market to all alumni and donors and we needed to minimize the spam potential. There's just certain manners in how you construct your email to minimize the risk of being labeled as spam and Litmus guides you.
The Litmus software is essential for an email marketer's toolkit. It is extremely useful for testing emails prior to launch. Litmus makes it easy to troubleshoot rendering issues and gives you the confidence to hit the send button. Their customer service is also top-notch.
There is not much to dislike about Litmus. It is very intuitive software.
Litmus shows how your email will render in all major email clients, on all major devices and platforms. It eliminates the need for testing on numerous live devices.
Inbox previews have been incredibly helpful in the development of our new email templates, and sharing them with our designers.
Pricing has gone up in recent years, and I'm not sure what additional features we've unlocked with this.
- Email rendering - New template creation - Proofing workflows - Inbox performance (reads vs skims, open environment data, etc.)
