MarketMuse takes the guesswork out of writing posts with an eye to SEO. It helps me write articles containing information people are looking for, as well as the guidance I need to ensure I'm using the most common words people search for. It's a real timesaver and helps to minimize frustration.
Sometimes it seems to be a bit too heavy for my computer to handle having the program/webpage open as well as other pages in my browser. Besides that, it's easy to use and well worth the money!

The Create Brief and Optimize Brief tools are great for building article outlines and topic models for more complex topics. I love using Compete to find out what topics and semantic keywords our competitors are covering - it helps me write with more depth and breadth.
Creating briefs can be frustrating sometimes because the Section Focus Topics that I enter don't always save after I leave the brief and come back to it. I also wish you could enter more than one new Section Focus Topic at a time once you've already created a brief.
MarketMuse is saving me lots of research time. Instead of painstakingly reading every single page on the SERP to get a sense of what topics competitors are covering, I can get a bird's-eye view from the Compete and Research tools. This gives me more time to critically analyze other components of my competitors' pages and write stronger content.
The Optimize feature is a truly brilliant feature that puts other services like SEO Surfer and the like to shame.
It's not a brilliant word processor, which can make optimizing content on the platform a pain.
Market Muse allows our editors to be Psedeo-experts on every topic, using data to read between the lines, and allows us to compete and rank more consistently
I love the Newsroom and Research features, as well as the Briefs. We've never used a managed brief but the non-managed ones work great!
It can be really slow and glitchy, so plan to do something else while waiting for your information to load to avoid frustration.

The best part of Market Muse is its dataset. When we compare the results from MM with other tools, for example, Outranking, I get the impression that the original dataset used by MM is better, hence the content suggestions appears to be more accurate.
It's slow! Wait, did I mention that Market Muse is slow? Yes, it is... That's the only thing that I think they should focus on in the near term. Compared with other tools, MM is the slowest by far. Sure, their results appears to be better, but the time it takes to get the suggestions really drags on our team overall productivity.

It eliminates a huge part of the secondary keyword research process required for SEO as well as identifies gaps in the market versus competitors that help get pages into Google's SERP features.
The platform can sometimes be a bit clunky, with search queries sometimes taking several minutes to return results. Optimisation tool can sometimes recommend keywords that are irrelevant or doesn't detect the difference between British and American spelling of the same words.
