- Simple & fast to pull text for page refreshes and repurposing (and to see what's being crawled/indexed) using the "Optimize" feature - Easy to conduct competitor keyword usage gaps for content planning using the "research" feature - SERP Navigator is helpful in researching the search intent of a given topic or KW (ie transactional vs educational)
- Creating content briefs for blog / content outlines is a bit more involved using MM versus, say, chatGPT. And the quality of links provided, even when a site is added via "inventories", is hit or miss. But overall, it's still a helpful tool to have in my content planning toolbox. I will say that there is value in the NLP phrases to include, even though those can be somewhat hit or miss at times, too.
Efficiency tool; research aid.
MarketMuse makes it so easy to meet your SEO goals. Super intuitive and user-friendly as well.
Nothing, it genuinely gives you so much value for free.
As a content writer for blog posts and landing pages, it's the solution to all my SEO writing needs.
I like the ability to compare to top competitors and see how our content stacks up against the rest
I think there are some bugs with the optimize section that sometimes have to be worked around, which can be annoying
It's helping us prep powerful content for our audience without having to go check out the competition elsewhere; it's all condensed in one place
MarketMuse is the only keyword and market research tool I use. While it does have a bit of a learning curve, once you get the hang of it, it's very intuitive and easy to read.
I wish the questions had tiers attached to them. When you research questions people ask, it simply provides a list, without providing any idea which questions are searched the most.
Being a content writer, I have to do lots of SEO research to ensure that whatever material I write (blogs and landing pages, mostly) will rank high on search results.
The optimise tab! It helps me optimise my articles before publishing them, even though The Google Algo works in mysterious ways.
Nothing!! I believe the app is well done.
It makes me see where I'm standing related to my competitors.
MarketMuse is continuously my favorite tool for running keyword gaps, competitor gaps, and getting semantics. I use it to score my posts and determine word count as well. Such a great tool, and unlike all the competitor tools - MarketMuse doesn't bug out and delete all my progress 3 times per session.
TBH I recently swapped to a free account because the pricing is just way too much for me right now at a small company :( Wish I still had some of those premium features, but honestly the free account still pretty much gets the job done for me.
SEMANTICS!! It's so helpful for optimizations.
The MarketMuse briefs are a must! At my company, along with listicles, I write detailed articles about health issues requiring research and the briefs easily create an outline and suggest related links. The brief lays out questions people are asking, what titles and subheadings are ranking, and suggests SEO keywords. Following the brief and checking my SEO targets with the optimization application makes writing so much easier!
The only thing I dislike is that sometimes there are issues with the software itself and it can be difficult to get an answer. Things change at the company and our contact has changed a few times without notification. Though I know they're doing their best and while it might take a few days to figure out an answer I understand and it's always figured out within a few days.
MarketMuse is making tracking SEO keywords easy and lets me know that I'm on the right track with an article from the beginning. I don't second guess if the article will be successful because I have a clear outline and goals laid out in front of me.
I really like the ability to quickly see where my content ranks among others with the same keywords before publshing
In the free version, I can't organize the keywords alphabetically or by density. I also can't download an excel version to do it on my own.
Market Muse makes the process of ranking content much easier compared to other tools
Optimization of written content using keyword targeting
Load time of results when searching for briefs and keywords
SEO optimization speeds up editing process for our longform content
Marketmuse is user-friendly. I love that you can optimize a page within 20 to 30 minutes without going off of the site. It's really easy to see what the SERP competitors are doing.
Sometimes it takes a little while to research keywords while it's pulling data. It can also be a little tricky to format your content while in MarketMuse, but I think they have made it easier over time.
MarketMuse is making it easy to optimize multiple pages all in one software. We have a small team so it saves us a lot of time when researching and helps us get quick rank wins.
Market Muse helps you know what related topics to use in your writing and how frequently, making it easy to see what you're missing that searchers want answers to. For people who have a fear of writing blogs or articles, it's an excellent guidepost to get someone started. And, if you're a seasoned writer, it expedites the entire process and makes your efforts far more strategic.
I have found very few downsides to Market Muse, and none that would make me discontinue use. If anything, I sometimes wish the results would load faster, but it's a minimal wait time and hardly worth mentioning.
It's allowing me to write better, more compelling content but also providing direction for future writing and content marketing efforts. It also helps you write to content to industries which you're not an expert in.
It is user friendly and the UX is very good
MM has some quirks. For non-English letters like ü and â it automatically puts the letter in a new line. This doesn't stop your heart but when you accidentally delete one of two keywords required in a certain way the system freaks out and it gives you an error code. It does keep the 'lost' text but you do think it has gone for good when it happens, particularly when you've entered 1000 words already!!!
It is achieving high Google rank for my client
It's fantastic for SEO keywords to optimize blogs.
It loads slowly, which can be inconvenient at times.
It's helping get blogs and articles onto Google's first page results, which is fantastic.
Keyword depth helps us write engaging content that people want to read and that ranks.
MM returns mostly generic information, so clients with highly niche or specific needs can be unsatisfied with results.
The main problem we face is knowing what information people are actually looking for. MM helps us solve that problem.
MarketMuse is a huge help when it comes to helping form a content strategy and it consistently helps us in creating content that is semantically relevant and ranks.
Like any other software, there are a few things here and there that can be improved on. The optimize feature for example at times returns topics that aren't relevant. They frequently release updates though, so I'm hoping this will be fixed soon.
MarketMuse helps us in publishing content that is semantically relevant and ranks, it also helps us in discovering new topics that we can rank for with our current topical authority.
I use two applications the most - Optimize & Questions. 'Optimize' is great to boost the semantic relevance of any piece of content. 'Questions' is a great tool to get the H2's to rank for Related Questions.
I don't always get information on search intent in the reports. Sometimes while using the 'Optimize' tool to 'Run & Fetch' content - it messes up the formatting which can be quite annoying sometimes.
Marketmuse is helping us with our on-page SEO optimization. It helps us improve the semantic relevance of a piece, identify content gaps and opportunities, and capture traffic for Related Questions.
The Optimize section of MarketMuse is a game-changer. I can run a query and get feedback for my content creation. This feedback includes a target word count, along with topic mentions needed to rank for that particular query. Thanks to a content score that MarketMuse has developed, my progress is measured as I create my content. This tool is a great asset and motivator.
The content editor itself can sometimes have a bit of lag (not usually noticeable, except that it sometimes leads to misspellings or a word that I end up mistyping as I'm waiting for the editor to catch up). Not a big deal, but this does force me to proofread at least twice (which is probably a good idea to begin with).
I used to create content that I thought would rank. MarketMuse helps me create content that WILL rank. The benefits are expansive, and I have more articles ranking than ever before.
Gone are the days where I'd spend far too long creating copy briefs for my writers. Marketmuse provides semantic relevance to help my writers correlate head terms with related topics.
It's not that I dislike it, but I never feel the wordcount is accurate. That's fine though given the amount of time I've saved using the product.
I can make copy briefs in half the time and will allow my blog to garner more organic traffic.
I like the Optimize feature, which gives me the insights to create compelling, unique content.
The learning curve is a challenge. I spent a couple of hours on YouTube and reading the blog to get through.
Creating compelling content that will outrank my competitors.
It is user-friendly and the word suggestions were easy to integrate into my SEO piece.
There is nothing that I did not dislike.
I use market muse to produce high-ranking SEO content.
