price and ease of use. Set-up can be customized if need be. Expenses can be tracked by department or class. Program is extremely versatile and adaptable to small and even large business needs.
inflexibility of sub schedules and that at times they do not tie together
keeping business records up to date
I like the ability to make changes in an invoice. To be able to re-enter an incorrect line or PO is a great feature. QB is the best and easiest software to use for a small business owner.
QB is not a good solution for a large business. The more users, the slower the program runs. In addition it eventually runs out of space.
Keeping books for small businesses is ideal. It is very adept at also printing reports.
QuickBook payroll is extremely intuitive and simple to use. It makes completing our semi-monthly salary employees as well as hourly payroll easy to enter and process. I would recommend QuickBooks payroll to anyone with a small to medium sized business. QuickBooks makes it easy and convenient to submit tax payments as well. The time tracking and PTO tracking options are great as well. It makes it easy to keep track of all out employee information as well. I am able to set up an new employee including their banking information for direct deposits in the matter of minutes. When using a payroll company, it takes several days to verify all the information and there is almost always mistakes made. When using QuickBooks I can enter in all the info manually and it doesn't take any time at all.
When mistakes are made there are sometimes several steps involved to correct them, other than that, that is the only thing that I dislike.
When using payroll via QuickBooks, it saves time and money within a business. I don't need to rely on someone else to handle the payroll and I am able to complete it easily and with out any issues. Also, QuickBooks payroll is compatible with Excel and its is easy to upload payroll information from Excel documents.
I love that I can limit user access, keeping payroll confidential. I also like that the taxes are paid on my behalf, timely with no need to remember due dates.
There isn't anything about QuickBooks payroll that I dislike.
I have solved many business problems using QuickBooks payroll and love that I can easily pay my employees as well as not worry about taxes being paid on time.
I like that it takes the guess work out of the laws and taxes for the small business owners. Considering that they don't always have someone on hand who is considered a payroll professional.
for me its always come back to the support structure and the fact that you have to pay for it. i believe that the price that you pay fro the product is high enough and paying for additional support when things come up is ridiculous to me. Support should be free! now when its comes to advise that different, advise needs to be directed more to the professionals and paid for.
making the payroll aspect easy for the not everyday user.
I was born and raised on Quickbooks so I don't have any experience using any other programs but I like the reports in Quickbooks. It is fairly easy to learn and a good standard in house book keeping program.
It's not cloud based automatically. For the price, you should have an option for more than a trial cloud based program.
IN house accounting and book keeping. Sales reports. Register tracking. We prefer to do our own in house book keeping and then send the reconciled statements and reports to the accountant for our taxes. For one, it forces us to be very aware of our bottom line and sales. It also gives us a way to monitor our sales for tax purposes so we aren't too surprised when the tax bill comes.
Simple, efficient and professional billing. I utilized QuickBooks to create invoices for clients and manage my company's finances when I was launching my social consultancy (The Lost Jacket) in Boston. It added a level of professionalism to my billing and helped me legitimize my company in some respects.
Not much. It provided exactly what I needed for my purposes of billing and invoicing clients and added a level of mathematical flourish that I desperately needed for my business. As an English major I felt right at home with this tool.
Budgeting, invoicing and efficient billing all made this tool a stellar addition to my entrepreneurial arsenal.
I really like Quickbooks. It provides a lot of features for Small Businesses and there is a lot of support with a very active community. I have helped over 50 business with installing or cleaning up their QuickBooks. The tool is very powerful.
A lot of businesses do not understand the full power of Quickbooks. A challenge I see is that Accountants set it up to get their clients tax returns processed easily, but do not focus on the actionable management reporting capabilities that QuickBooks offers.
It is more than an accounting package. If set up right, the solution can provide actionable management reporting and I like the Links with a variety of third party solutions to help meet industry focused needs.
For me, the ease of use and the fact that I can easily make changes to clients books when they make mistakes. It is very user friendly and all of my clients are happy with the fact that they can learn how to use it quickly.
The fees charged for payroll could be less, but overall no real complaints.
I am assisting small to medium sized businesses to keep good financial records. The benefits are many-happy clients, business referrals, and the main one being to help businesses succeed and properly track the financial aspect of their business.
I like the ease of moving around QuickBooks. In 2014 it has a feature for bank feeds. It is such a convenient place to see where your balances are for all bank and credit cards.
The way 2014 looks. The icon are two small and I do not like the black background. It is to hard to see. I had to change the color to make it more friendly on my eyes. Hoping they change this in 2015 version.
Trying to keep my clients current so they can make informed decisions about their business
I love the ease of using the Quickbooks program, it is so easy to maneuver, to learn, to work with
I haven't found anything that I don't like about this program
The benefits I have realized is increased service to my clients using the qualities and speed of QB
Quickbooks is very user friendly. It has the capacity to keep books for a very small company or a large corporation with multiple sites, payroll, inventory, etc. Quickbooks is recognized as the leader in accounting/bookkeeping software. Also, QB has an exceptional Pro Advisor program with lots of helps and telephone/online support.
Continual upgrades that require purchases. My clients have to continue paying for upgrades annually to stay current with my accountant software. I also do not like the online version. It is so completely different from desktop version. It should have been left compatible with desktop..
Quickbooks has allowed me to start my own bookkeeping business. Their training and Pro Advisor program allows me to be a more progessional bookkeeper and be better able to serve my clients.
The best feature to me is that it's intuitive. Anyone that is willing to learn the software is able to with proper training.
What I dislike is it's also very easy to make mistakes
With QuickBooks I am able to recommend an affordable computerized bookkeeping/accounting software. I have benefited from this popular software in that I am able to train my clients or relieve them of the administrative tasks of bookkeeping and accounting.
I like that this accounting program is for the accountant AND non-accountant especially. It is forms generated where most of the debit and credit work is done behind the scenes. Non-accountants don't have to feel overwhelmed at using what aspects of the program they need. For example, a CEO could easily learn to print reports.
Accountants can find it limiting due to wanting to work with journals and ledgers. However, it just takes getting used to the forms aspect of the software. Most capabilities are still there.
I give small businesses and even some individuals organization of their finances. They don't need complex accounting packages. I am solving problems in seeing what is profitable in their business and what are the issues. Organization of finances can be a simple task, and the benefits are far-reaching.
I love that my clients are able to access from desktop, tablet or smartphone. Love the integrated messaging feature, the fact that I can manage all my clients from one login is a plus and i feel the ready templates for invoicing is so handy with my clients who may not too computer savvy, it creates a sense of professionalism for them that would take at least an hour (by an experienced user) in other software to achieve. Big thumbs up!!
It's not really a dislike, more an observation and request, it would be great to have an integrated payment facility where clients are able to take payments from their customers directly, similar to PayPal. Preferably one that can be used via smartphone or tablet aswell
Yes, mentioned before, businesses love the mobility of the product, bookkeepers love the fact that we don't need to constantly update software on several computers each time their is an update, definitely making life easier for all
We enjoy all the features of this quickbooks systems, very user friendly.
Sometimes it hangs, probably it's on the computer.
We normally had issues with the payroll systems and inventory, however, when we started using quickbooks everything have gone smooth and business flows much better.
Widespread use and marketplace acceptance Easy to use even if it is not easy to master.
Awful bank reconciliation. Pathetic inventory handling. Bloated software. QuickBooks Online lacks many of the features available on regular QuickBooks.
Accounting for basic to complicated applications
Quickbooks allows a non accountant business owner to control their finances and bookkeeping with some basic training and occasional assistance.
Quickbooks gets more expensive each year and can have too many features and learning curve for the very small or part time business owner.
Quickbooks self service payroll can avoid expensive cumbersome payroll services and Quickbooks accounting can lower annual tax filing and tax liability costs by allowing business owners to be involved in the small business bookkeeping process. Business owners can get good feedback about financial performance available with an open easy to modify database with ease of use by non accountants.
QuickBooks is very flexile and forgiving, so even if you initially enter something incorrectly, if can be amended and added to. An audit trail shows these changes so you can review whether staff need t be more careful, or require more training, or the data they are given needs to be more accurate and complete. The reporting is the other strength with cross year reporting as wel as drill down and easy customisation.
At present the On-Line version is not as feature rich and the Pro, Premier and Plus versions all begin with P which can lead to confusion.
Business owners can start to understand the figures and link them to business performance. With the drill down, they can see what their costs are even down to per supplier. For any business with multiple outlets, the classess allow profitability by outlet to be reviewed and coss corrected as needed.
the way I can easily pull information and jump from one entity to another
the way excel is imported. too many columns in between, less would be better
there are not any problems on hand currently. the ability to jump from entity to entity
As a bookkeeper, I like the fact that I can download bank and credit card statements and then categorize the income and expenses quickly.
From my a bookkeeping perspective there really isn't anything that I dislike about Quickbooks.
I am solving the problems around knowing what my cash flow is. Quickbooks allows me to analyze my cashflow easily and to quickly see who owes me how much and for how long.
QuickBooks is the best solution . It has thousands of add on products for specific industries.
I would like the inventory to be stronger without a third party software add on's. The integration with some third party's can be stronger
QuickBooks helps small businesses write checks , pay bills , processes payroll and the class function allows you to run financials by department or division.
QuickBooks offers a complete accounting system for your business; whether you're a new company to a company who has been in business many years. QuickBooks offers everything you need right in the program. They also have expanded to 3rd Party applications which integrate directly into QB if there is a certain need you additionally need.
Great program to use. Nothing I dislike.
I help many small business owners with their problems and help them solve financial accounting issues in their QB system.
QuickBooks is a complete Accounting system that most small businesses can utilize to run their financial business.
Intuit's drive to be better than their competitor tends to make them act before thinking through completely.
QuickBooks provides solutions for small business' accounting needs and some basic inventory management.
The system is easy to use and handles all areas of running a small business; invoicing, payroll, etc.
Some of the functions are limited in the invoice section but nothing that you can't work around.
General finance of the business, payroll, taxes, etc.
We are a relatively small church but with a relatively large budget for a church. Desktop helps me as Treasurer keep our vendors paid on time as well as our staff. Easy to read Balance Sheets and Profit Loss Reports. End of year Tax requirements easily tracked.
I have to pay for features that are not relevant to how we work. My desire would be to have a more customizable version at a relevant cost.

Easy to track bills, credit card charges and reconcile credit cards. Having the ability to set up different reports to easily see what needs to be paid when is amazingly helpful as a member of our AP department. We can pay bills directly from the report or schedule checks to be printed.
Sometimes it is a little difficult to fix things when something comes through Stampli to the wrong vendor. However once I learned how to change them, it is a little bit of a process but doable.
QuickBooks is helping to pay bills on time and know what we have upcoming to pay. We have made a report to see each vendor, bill due date, and total amount. Being able to export to Excel makes it easy to highlight and share through the company what checks need to be printed each weekend to mail on Mondays and stay on top of our bills.
Being able to use it offline without the internet.
At times worries when being used online, and the system keeps asking for an update
Preparing financial statements.
I love how QuickBooks makes daily accounting easy and integrates everything together.
I really do not have any complaints about how the software performs.
QuickBooks makes it easy to enter your daily data and has a smooth system for everything to work together. Their payroll system makes processing payroll so easy and quick.
Strong customer support. Good functionality. Direct connection to my CPA. Easy to run reports.
Lots of selling of other products and services. Customer support is limited to specific items.
Easy to run reports. Easy to invoice.
