SEMRush is an all-in-one content marketing solution that comes with content optimization tools, an SEO writing assistant, and real-time content grade as well as a keyword research tool. The platform is a great tool for topic research, and content grading for readability, SEO, tone of voice, and originality. It can also reliably recommend keywords and track the impact of your article given the SEO improvements that were implemented. Pricing for SEMrush is more on the higher end, given the feature-rich options of tools available and the fact that it’s an all-in-one solution.

Getting to know everything about our industry best players. They have handly and very friendly tools to work with SEO which help us improving our work while creating articles it is the best. I also love the PPC tool they have. You must try this and will not regret.
There is nothing i do no like, but i really appreciate if you can add to your features a way to see in the social media tool which post are advertised in order to evaluate my competitors where are they putting their money in which contents and what results they get.
Since we are an start up the main problem it resolved was getting to know our industry leaders, the business and the daily actions. We have great topics to work in our blog We resolved our SEO problemas knowing were to start and how to do it in a step by step guide applying your analysis tools. Talking shortly I think this is a tool that helps my marketing department to manage everything regarding Advertising search paid media, SEO and competitor analysis.
Analysis of competitors and keywords, SEO Writing Assistant.
Changes that are not noticed. Reports are not explaining too much information.
SEO and content analytics
Just how much information you can get from SEMRush is astonishing. SEO support for my site, competitor insight that is invaluable in forming strategies that get supported. Detailed analysis of keyword positions over time helps to understand competitor strategy and how we can target them is incredibly insightful.
Too much information! Sometimes I can't find what i'm looking for, but it's all good. Don't take anything away!
Key search insights to understand competitive positioning, budget forecasting and technical SEO issues.
There's so many stats and figures to play with. My favourite is the ranking section, seeing my keywords rank improve is very satisfying. Everyday I find something new to report on or monitor. The interface is pretty good, there's a lot of information to show and on the whole is presented really well. There's new things being added all of the time. The events/games that come through on email are engaging and innovative.
The only thing I'm a little disappointed at is the academy. The content and layout is great but the delivery of the information ranges from excellent (SEO) to unbearable (PPC). The guy is reading from an auto cue badly and make it difficult to follow. I'm clutching at straws here though.
We do all marketing in house with a very small team. Having social and ranking tools in the same place is essential for us. We've managed to go from not ranking anywhere for anything to hitting that number one spot for a few keywords.
organic research, project management, position tracking and API access
Lack of industry bench marking by location and enterprise content analysis. Lack of search term to keyword data mapping
identify keyword gaps, tracking position and visibility.
SEM Rush is a vital tool - its my first port of call in the morning for checking out rankings and identifying new keywords for Google Ads or research for new business
The interface is a little 'janky' and there are often bugs or issues with the data.
Keyword research, and rank tracking are solved. Identifying new keywords is very valuble and better than Google Ads tool.
The Online Ranking Tool. The email reporting.
Wish there was a dashboard showing all domains in our control panel with a graph of our visibility over time just like http://serpwoo.com
SEO
The sitewide audits pinpoint every little technical issues on the site through a sitemap or overall crawl. The keyword magic tool is extremely useful for localization keywords and backlink audit is amazing to see what backlink domains were de-indexed.
The only thing I dislike is that they teamed up with Yext for the localized directories.
Improved search results and overall understanding of website structure.
SEMRush goes beyond dumping a bunch of data on you. They help shape, guide, and package our research and insights into deliverables. Even our junior SEO analyst can add value immediately to our campaigns.
It can be overwhelming. There is a lot of stuff and new features coming fast. I recommend starting a "Project" and move through section by section to can create a strong dashboard and insights that will make you look smart in front of clients.
For us, the real switchover moment came with the reports that we could generate for clients. We were spending valuable time collecting and analyzing data, but then when we were ready to deliver our findings and recommendations to clients we were spending TONS of less valuable time packaging it up and making it presentable and consumable.
SEMrush puts all the tools you need to succeed in SEO at your fingertips. Their products stay up-to-date on the current trends in SEM. They offer training for new and current users and will even certify you in your SEO skills. We recently started using the listing management feature and this is a great tool.
Some of the tools (while handy) can be a little confusing. Not all keywords are included in a report. I find that I sometimes still have to run manual searches within Google to see the ranks of specific keywords or keyword phrases.
Increasing search rankings for specific industry related keywords. Easy ranking reports sent right to my email on my schedule. Local listings and managing the company information across the web. The listing management tool does this all for you in one place.
A complete suite of easy to use tools. SEM Rush is without doubt an SEO marketing dream tool. The number of clients I win because of these insights is just amazing. Granted - being a subject matter expert helps me get the most out of the product but it really is amazing and worth the effort to learn.
Multiple Google Logins for one project is the biggest issue for me. For some reason the setup requires me to add Google Analytics and Webmaster tools multiple times to one project. As an expanding product it would be nice to have a better project setup process to save time.
Content Research, Website Auditing and general SEO research is amazing. I also use it to report to my clients how they are progressing on their SEO results. The custom reports are really pretty good and you can customise them so your clients know what you are talking about.
Its keyword research functionality is second to none! clients love how I find out what their site ranks for.
I have very few dislikes. On two occasions in the past 4 years the tool seemed to not work for a two hour period.
keywords research, competitor analysis and rank tracking. Clients love that we have accurate ranking data every single day.
There's too much that I like, but of them, is my 'daily': I get daily reports that I've customized to show me when I've gained or lost new keywords (among other things), but this lets me quickly know where I need to optimize pages.
There's almost TOO much to take in; Information overkill -- Yeah, it's SUPER granular if you want it to be, but it also takes a while to get into it to use it at that level. SUPER big agencies will love this. Mom and pop's wanting to get basic information with have to close their eyes to most of it.
I've been able to monitor my competition, and get a better idea of what separates them (the leaders) from us (the up-and-comers). I can see how they've used AdWords -- and what's worked for them and what's not. This lets me learn from their mistakes. I've also been able to track down and disavow what I can only consider purposly-placed 'bad' backlinks by competitors trying to lower my site's credibililty.
Daily Keyword Rankings, Reporting, ability to export large sets of competitor keywords, project tools such as content analysis, audits, rank tracking, social media monitoring.
Backlink data seems outdated compared with Ahrefs, GSC Integration is provided yet most of the keywords provided by GSC do not appear in standard daily keyword reporting. Remove multi-login sharing for teams.
ability to discover content performance by site enables us to track return on content spend and content type. Additionally Featured Snippet tracking allows us to earn additional budget for sites. Competitor intelligence allows our team the ability to find content opportunities.
Reliable data on my online business behaviour, well presented
There's nothing to dislike with SEMrush, their service levels are very high
SEMrush gives me a complete profile of the online performance of my business in comparison with my competitors. Where I have shortcomings, SEMrush provides suggested solutions.
I love SEMRush for the amount of detail and insight I can gain from the platform. The technical data is great for improving your sites.
Nothing as yet. I have been impressed by the amount of updated that keep coming too.
Technical errors, ranking monitoring, competitor analysis, topic analysis and suggestions.
The constant release of new tools that are so helpful. The flexible with SEMRush tool feedback.
Sometimes exporting can be a pain. I always get security updates. Can't export large amounts of data over a period of time (i.e. wanting to pull January report, February). Can take a while to do something like.
Monitoring of my websites.
Amazing tool for competitive analysis, ranking insights & everything in between.
Nothing. It's got everything and with the recent growth, it's only going to get better.
digital growth, SEO, SEM, brand monitoring and everything in between.
I love to use SEMrush for tracking the health and growth of my website. I love to add a URL of a competitor and back out their website to find opportunities.
The price is a bit much for those of us that have multiple websites. Wish it had a heatmap!
I know when to make changes on my website and how to grow my search engine rankings.
Really like the tracking facilities, but more recently the seo ideas took.
Maybe the monthly reporting, we currently use Swydo for client reports and use screenshots out of demo rush.
Lots, we track all projects in 1 place, track competitors and get new ideas for plans.
I use the tool primarily on the SEO program of work. Though there are tons of tools inside to take advantage of for the different channels such as paid search advertising, social, brand monitoring and more.
I would like for the platform to monitor against Thai language.
To strategically outrank bigger brands on the search engine results page.
Not meant for beginners, however, but if you're looking for more in-depth reporting this is the way to go,.
Reporting and how deep the keywords are able to go. Also how it's international which helps the business I'm in a lot.
Expansion into new countries, learning what they're saying, and how they say it.
The product team at SEMRush is always iterating and improving on this product. The tool we use the most is the keyword magic tool but have also setup "projects" for each of our clients in order to monitor issues on their websites. We get alerts on a regular basis alerting us to issues as well as letting us know when issues have been corrected. The dashboard view gives you quick info at a glance so you can see where you need to focus immediate attention.
There are times when the issues to be corrected aren't completely clear as to the action to be taken.
Spot On leverages the intelligence provided in SEMRush with clients as well as prospects. We are able to run competitive analysis to show our prospects what they are up against with other similar companies in their space.
SEM Rush is a fantastic, easy-to-use tool that makes keyword research and position tracking an absolute breeze! They are constantly developing new tools and better user interfaces and they are really responsive to customer queries. The ability to connect Google Analytics and Google Search Console makes it even more powerful. I also use the new content management tools and social media tracking tools too.
In all honesty, not too much! For small business owners and small agencies the price might (on the various paid subscriptions) might be a bit of struggle.
The ability to manage my clients on-page and off-page SEO all in one place. From keyword research to competitor analysis, it's an essential tool for my business.
Very easy to use and there are a ton of features.. I can get most of my SEO work done with the single tool. This also helps us with our PPC and social media accounts.
I still use another tool for backlinks.... I think they could improve there.
SEMrush is helping us stay at the top of the search rankings. It assists us with new keyword research and it also helps us with our PPC accounts.
SEO, Paid Traffic, Social Media, Content and PR, all could be handled within one tool. From technical SEO audits to PPC competition analysis all data in detail for a reasonable fee. Highly recommend it.
The Main Menu is a little bit confusing. For some small niches there's not that much dat available.
SEO audits, keyword monitoring, backlink audits, competition analysis.
Being able to see which keywords are driving to a specific domain is invaluable. Also having detailed keyword research with search volume and difficulty as well as recommendations makes it essentially a one-stop solution. Also, all of the new features that have been added over the years, the keyword magic tool and the disavow tool have been life savers.
Some of the reporting for competitor research may be a bit off when compared to the actual numbers. When we checked a client's ad spend it was a bit different from what was reported on SEMRush, so we need to account for estimates.
Keyword research is extremely important and we wanted to ensure that we're targeting the correct keywords and optimizing our pages. Also, there are always missed opportunities that we're not capitalizing on now which makes SEMRush even more valuable to us.
For freelancers and web agencies that offer their customers an indexing service on search engines, semrush is the best tool seo suit on the market, many effective and important tools
In all honesty I have not encountered particular problems, perhaps the cost ... you know the good things are paid
audit, ability to evaluate backlinks and choose good ones from malicious ones, correct errors on pages and follow indexing. So much more and all of quality
I like everything about this software. It's really an extensive tool. I love their gap analysis tool because it shows me how to take advantage of the opportunities my competition is missing. I love the on-page SEO checker because it alerts me to potential SEO issues on my site and lets me know how to correct the problem. If you really use this tool your SEO and conversion will improve. In addition, their support is awesome! Just reach out if you need help or advice.
There is not really much to dislike. However, I think their social media tracker could be improved. SEMrush really needs to add Instagram and some engagement analytics. Also, the position tracker is a little challenging to set-up but once it's running it's great.
SEMrush provides so many benefits, I will just list my favorites. I love the SEO checker, the site audit, the keyword magic tool, the organic research tool, and the domain vs. domain tool. SEMrush helps me understand my traffic, my competition, my steps to conversion, and my placement in SERP.
I love the depth of its analysis of my competitors and how easy the plug-in is to use in WordPress! The float mode in WordPress is especially helpful.
I'm not a huge fan of the dashboard because it can be overwhelming to look at.
