It’s an accessible solution that simplifies the entire process of getting something up and running, with lots of customization options, and options to customize core functionality as your business grows. The platform also supports an extensive range of payment processing options.

Nothing Much. Just that I closed the business. The day I'll start again, Shopify would be my go to e-commerce platform
Business problem that I was solving: Running an online store Benefits: 1) Affordable 2) Not much code Required
Customer Service was outstanding. We had some difficulties getting set up, and they were always prompt to answer and worked hard to get correct solutions. We found the layout and quick setup of a storefront to be very helpful.
We had some issues with the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), though they were primarily on the Amazon side. We had to find a lot of work arounds for inventory and things like that. Also setting up shipping costs for FBA was very confusing and we ended up losing some money because of it.
We needed an easy way to sell printed books. Shopify provided a clean, user friendly interface to do that.
Ease of use simple for users with no web site experience completely customizable easy to learn lots of sales tools
more expensive than similar products does not have the same theme selection as wordpress or magento
no website for one of our inhouse brands, solved it by creating an easy to use/maintain website. Benefits include increased exposure and a more professional look.
Very easy to use. New features always being added and they offer great support. A lot of apps to choose from to integrate 3rd party software use into your store.
The design of the website itself is a bit limited. There should be more template options and more responsive and modern looks to templates.
We needed an eCommerce platform to sell our branded products separately from our main brand site. This was just what we needed.
The best part of Shopify is how simple it is to get started. Even with no inventory and no experience as a product reseller, I was able to get the payment gateways and shipping set up quickly and easily.
There didn't seem to be much documentation on the new procedure for this but I did end up getting this working.
As a marketer learning Shopify, I dove into this with a mindset of how to build a shop on my own. The benefits im finding is that with the add-ons, it's easy to tailor the customer service.
The best part of Shopify is how simple it is to get started. Even with no inventory and no experience as a product reseller, I was able to get the payment gateways and shipping set up quickly and easily. I then found an add-on which allowed me to locate products and add them to my store. When they are ordered they are simply drop-shipped from my supplier.
I had a little trouble initially with integrating my facebook pixel and there didn't seem to be much documentation on the new procedure for this but I did end up getting this working.
I can build websites without Shopify but the advantage for me is that it is such a time saver. Normally you would have to spend days coding a custom solution and worrying about things such as payment security for your customers. Shopify goes steps beyond this by allowing developers to add products that integrate with their software making many tasks even easier.
If you're not looking to get into dealing with your own hosted ecommerce website, Shopify is a fantastic alternativel
Migrating other commerce platforms to Shopify necessitates a conversion of pre-existing subcategories to the Shopify-centric "collections" paradigm. Manageable, but time consuming or costly if you have a large inventory.
Ease of client product creation. Their previous system (Zen Cart) was clunky at best, and Shopify is far easier for the nontechnical store owners to manage.
I like how you can easily setup your websites theme online and there are many options to help suit what you are selling. Another thing I like is that it is easy to setup discounts for customers. Very easy to keep track of products as well.
It would be nice to be able to leave notes and chat with coworkere on the app so they know what needs to he done or fixed. If it is there, then it is not easy to find.
Business problems, is that it helps keep track of inventory and we dont have to constantly keep tabs.
Recently I have been building a lot of websites in Shopify. I really like how easy it is to use and set up.
There isn't anything I really dislike about it.
I get the websites built quickly
I love how easy it is to import products, keep track of inventory, and market. All from the dashboard. It's also super easy to integrate shopify with apps for drop shipping.
The lack of customer service support is kind of aggravating. I still have two or three issues that need to be resolved and CS has yet to correct them, or offer any help.
We've accessed an entirely new market with Shopify. The integrations with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and third-party programs is amazing.
Simple set up for personal and business!
Depending on what your needs are the monthly price may or may not be appropriate.
Easy to update website without calling HTML expert, adding links is fairly self explanatory
I like the look of Shopify best. It is very sleek and clean looking both on the store front and on the administrative end.
There isn't too much that I dislike about Shopify itself. I do not like the fact that Shopify does not sync with our Financial software- we have to physically go in and process every transaction using a middle man software.
We are solving the issue of our customers not being able to see what we have available. I have realized that a huge benefit of Shopify, especially for some of the other departments is the option to go in and track customers- see where they are from and utilize them for marketing in the future.
Easy to use and very good all round to for a full website
Somwhat limited with backend custumization
How to sell products onlinbe, shopify solved those problems
You can literally set up a shop within 15 minutes. Tons of apps, very intuitive.
For what it is, and what it does, there is really nothing to dislike.
A simple and easy way to start selling online.
Shopify is an affordable solution for setting up an e-commerce site. You are able to design and create your own e-shop with ease.
You do have to do the work yourself so it will take longer than hiring someone to do it for you, but it's worth it for the price.
We needed a simple e-commerce site for our employees to be able to shop for company branded apparel and uniforms. We were quoted exorbitant fees by website designers and other vendors, but we were lucky to find Shopify instead. Now our employees can shop for company apparel online and pay with credit and/or debit card. It has simplified our ordering process.
This platform has made it very easy for us to upload hundreds of products and has made the listing process to a minimal one-page experience. In addition, Shopify is affordable for anyone who is a user of its software for just one year or several.
Sometimes it does not offer all of the options that I am looking for but this is to be expected because it is a platform designed for smaller businesses.
Shopify has allowed me to cut the time of listing new products dramatically. It has also allowed me to launch my own e-store without having to pay a fortune over to a web designer.
Easy to use, great template options, and provide a lot of learning recourses.
Lacking in the variant editing options. It would be nice to have the ability to manually reorder variants and add in a new page from the main product page.
Improving online store look, creating a better shopping experience for customers.
It's easy to set up and add on widgets/ plugins to customize your shop and take advantage of added features.
Most added plugin cost extra money which can get pricey if you're trying to run a simple online shop.
I don't need to know code which is great and it's so intuitive that you don't have to learn a new software ... its just walks you through how to set things up. Overall its saves time.
Ease of use. You can start quickly with existing theme. They also have a big theme store where you can choose a lot of their theme templates that match your business needs. Customization is really use both point and click and coding.
If you want to do something custom, it might be tough.
Selling online.
Easy to use CMS, inexpensive, good template options and customer support.
We haven't found a template with a homepage that is quite dynamic for us yet - but we'll get there.
We are a nonprofit with a social enterprise component. We make our own bath and body products, as well as sell on behalf of about 20 global partners.
I had never used any program like this before. With a quick tutorial I was able to add and revise products easily.
Like all other technical products, training is key. Don't have any dislikes but you do need to train to get familiar with the program.
Easily add products as they are launched. Also the mobile app is easy to add products on the the go.
Awesome support, they replied super quickly and helpful support team. Also the app store is a clear winner for them.
It is a little bit steep in pricing for where it starts off. Especially after a US to CAD conversion.
Shopify helps me so I can see everything neatly in analytics and everything I need to do is very clear. Helps workflow a lot!
I like the ease of use for the customer.
Sometimes I get extra emails from customers asking how to add certain things. There seem to be some glitches from the basket to checkout
Simple process putting things for sale on the website.
I use the platform myself, selling products as well as create Shopify stores for my clients. I love the ease of use. My clients can easily take over once I am finished with little questions. It is hosted so the cost of hosting like for Magento is a very inexpensive price to use the platform. They are cutting edge with integrations and selling channels. Shopify has features that is not even possible on other platforms. They implementing more amazing things, faster than I can even get them set up. I love having a mobile app to track orders as well.
There is not much that I dislike about Shopify besides the discounts. You can only assign a single rule for a discount code. It would be nice to have (and) (or) to combine multiple rules and objectives like I can do in Magento. It would also be nice to have shopping cart price rules as well so the customer did not have to use a coupon code. I have managed without it though.
I am solving the headache of self hosting a slow complicated shopping system and realizing what a waste of time that can be. Shopify has tons of hours and expertise on what works with customers. I can now focus on marketing more than just worrying about my site.
I love how easy shopify has made managing several ecommerce sites for our profudct portfolio, and for processing the sales.
Sometimes the templates are a but time consuming for our general staff to update, while we have tech capable consultants that are some times required - I wish it was more eassy for our general accounting and sales team members to update.
We are selling materials and products online, ranging from building materials and products to craft, decorative art and houeware - in europe and
The interface changed every months (even weeks) which shows that Shopify is on point when it comes to update its platform. It is easy to use. Adding products has never been that easy! The shipping printing tool (USPS) is helping the company a lot! Saving time and money (the price listed with Shopify is cheaper than going to USPS Office)! Finally we love the apps that help us integrating newsletter popup or even connecting Mailchimp or Facebook to the actual store.
Nothing much...However Shopify should now start offering more templates. Even if they have to charge them for. Shopify gives access the the HTML + CSS files in order for the webmaster to change the website but it still limited at this time.
We have approximately 500 SKU online and we cannot be happier with Shopify. It does exactly what any ecommerce platforms should do, SELLING online. Shopify is even giving for free its credit card reader which can be connected to any ipad or phone. It helped our company to sell products in person at trunk shows or popup stores!
Super flexible system. There are so many apps out there for us to test into. The admin is very user friendly and is easy to pick up.
Not being able to manipulate the checkout page(s) is very limiting!
We started to use Shopify as a back-up system during busy holiday seasons to protect against any site outages. We use it today regularly with one of our smaller brands as we wait to migrate to Magento.
Very customizable, support is quick easy and knowledgeable, very easy to make a great website
Pricing is in US dollar (I am Canadian), can be a bit steep especially if you very small lole me
I started my business selling rope on shopify, and it works great
Shopify is simple but you can accomplish a very complex solution. Same like Apple - it's not just about specifications but much more about their integration with partners - Pinterest Buyable pins? Yes. Facebook eCommerce? Yes. Twitter business? Of course.
Inability to add payment processors that are not supported. Transaction fee even when I submit order manually and not using payment processing. It's not possible to use more than one currency.
We want to sell our products internationally and use more than one selling channel. All done with Shopify.
The ease of use and the lovely dashboard
The flexibility is a little bit too low.
I'm a developer and designer, and I always recommend my clients to use Shopify; so I'm roughly using this service a few times each week on a new project.
