Great developer support/experience. The C# development platform/approach is very extensible and well organized. The Editor UI is good/very good (although I think AEM is a bit slicker/easier to use). I like working in the Microsoft stack and the Sitecore community is amazing.

Sitecore is a bit complex which is fairly natural, but it can be hard to get a foothold into a new topic. In particular, the API documentation and examples are not very complete. Especially the API documentation. I don't understand why I should have to to install and use dotPeek just to find out what options are available in the API. I do like the example sites, but it can be a bit confusing to figure out which one to use and they can get out of date. I also wish the was a published SXA training option. I found out today that if you ask for it you can get a class, but we weren't aware of that option and we really would have benefited from it a couple of months ago. I have also found the documentation/explanation of xConnect hard to grasp. More documentation/training would be very helpful. In fact, an advanced class on installing, maintaining and optmizing SItecore would be very helpful.

Regular, web site stuff for the most part. Nothing super unique, but quickly changing business requirements are the norm.

It's important for our organization to be able to communicate information quickly and efficiently to our more than 220 children's hospitals across the country. Sitecore allows us to easily create content and manage our message across multiple business units within our organization.

Sitecore users who are not frequent users often struggle to remember how to manage content within the platform.

We're able to have multiple users manage content across the country. The content creation process is more streamlined than it used to be.

I like how powerful and the ease of use. They have easy deployments as well.

I do not like the cost and how it stores users in the user manager.

It is easy to deploy websites and we were able to move 80 websites over to the platform due to how easy it is use.

Challenged navigation at times, where the GUI front-end could be enhanced.

I have enjoyed the journey of transitioning from other CMS platforms to Sitecore. I can honestly say I have become much more well rounded and careful developer. The Visual Studio environment with it's intellisense and code validating tools coupled with a Sitecore Implementation Partner (XCentium) who enforces strict code reviews have certainly force our in-house team to write better, more robust code. A solid codebase equals a reliable and performant site, which is first for our customer's experience and impression of our company.

I dislike the amount of time I spend waiting for builds, app pools, etc. Perhaps there are some improvements we can make to our setup, but the wait times are frustrating.

We are struggling with some indexing issues at the moment. Switching to Azure Solr should fix the issue (if we ever get it fully scripted). Componentizing our layout options for our content creators has been amazing!

The ability to make content changes with workflows and version history.

The lack of assistance within the application as it is a very complex tool.

We are currently not solving any problems but the benefits are we can have a non programmer make content changes for our clients instead of them being code changes.

Time to market. Quick and easy to do content management.

It takes a lot of time and effort to master the digital marketing aspect of the platform. Technical problems with configuration and upgrades. Nothing works out of the box as is marketed by Sitecore.

Content management. Flexibility in page building and styling. Lead generation. Campaigns and simple personalization.

Nearly everything is customizable if you make it to be that way

personalization and automation is solving a lot of issues for our business. It takes a lot of man power at first to get everything set up but the benefit is that once that is done its smooth sailing from there.

Sitecore has everything you need to help build a customized content management system for your enterprise-level web operations. The functionality of Sitecore was created with scalability, localization and personalization in mind.

It definitely requires a dedicated partner or a deep level of internal Sitecore-certified developer resources to not only implement but also maintain. So prepare your budget and projects with that in mind. While some things come out of the box, there is a lot of customization that needs to be done to get it to your level of expectations.

We have solved very complex problems for the business where previously it was a much more manual process OR involved multiple integrations. We've been able to launch an ecommerce, global website that operates 24/7. We've also been able to connect data from downstream IT systems through to marketing-owned systems with Sitecore - this helps us server our customers better and makes our jobs more efficient.

Sitecore really lets you customize the underlying code to a degree that makes it a product for any situation. Having a little bit of knowledge of the pipelines goes a long way as we just successfully fully integrated with our own inhouse custom code. Being a shop that runs Sitefinity as well that is a huge win for us.

Upgrade process seemed difficult with the documentation available at the time. Now with the new docs website a lot of those headaches are no longer an issue but something we'll be looking for first before jumping to 10.

A marketing department that needs to be able to change sites on the fly without the headaches of dealing with IT getting in the way.

Implementation is critical, and will vary widely depending on the development team and their experience. Despite being proprietary it is open ended and it's up to you what's in the box.

Solving the IT and Marketing pipeline for our digital experiences for healthcare members in Arizona. We've realized a much quicker content creation to delivery timeline, which is important in Healthcare where many of our public marketing outlets are highly regulated extending timelines due to reviews from legal bodies.

We're improving our content distribution model utilising Sitecore, displaying more relevant and timely content to our customers and keeping pace with the changing nature of the customer experience.

Sitecore is feature rich, and I can extend it in whatever way I need.

It has a big footprint, and that makes it expensive to deploy once you start to scale out.

I'm trying to use it has a CMS as well as a way to track website traffic.

The platform is user-friendly for all levels of background and familiarity with similar tools.

Our main business problem was to put a platform in place that allowed ease of content updates, while allowing for scaling of sophistication of marketing activities through things like personalization and insights.

With no experience, I was able to grasp the basics of sitecore and use it in my daily work routine. Great for beginners but still extremely flexible.

Can be harsh to deal with, slow at times. Just like any other program, it sometimes has glitches and it is about figuring out the issue and tracing back.

I am creating websites for our employees. I like how a person can take a big vision and put it into reality with it. Not too big on problem solving on my end but I'm sure it has been for others who use sitecore in my company.

Our new (non production) site is coming along nicely and the environment is flexible!!

Few out of the box functions, most basic functionality needs development time.

Better styling capabilities and mobile friendly.

I enjoy how user friendly the content editor is. It allows users with little knowledge of css and html to edit pages without any problems.

It is challenging to make edits to the templates without involving developers, so if you don’t have in house developers it can be expensive to redesign the site.

The functionality within Sitecore is great. We are currently using tagging in order to sort our content within our knowledge center to make it easier for customers to find what they are searching for.
